Thank you for these videos l’ve learned so much. One question, how long is the 30-amp cable that came with the van and after almost a year have you found you’ve needed an extension?
The Furrion cable is 25 feet. So far never had a need for an extension. Often even though electric is available in an RV park we don't even hook up to it if it is just an overnight stay. We do have a 30 amp outlet on our garage which we installed when we got our prior class A RV. Sometimes I use it if I'm running the fridge and there are a series of cloudy days. Otherwise the solar system does fine without plugging in.
I have the same model as you do. I'd like to hear your input on below freezing camping and usage. I live in a warm climate that sometimes goes just below freezing so I'd like your/anyone's input. Right now, I have the water from mine drained and blown out, but I'd like to come and go during the cold months. Any input?
So I've only used it once in the southern California desert where the temperature dropped to below 30 F on successive nights but warmed up into the 50's during the day. I did turn on the grey water heater each evening. Otherwise if I was going to a freezing area for a several days I would keep the heat at 55 and grey water heater on. I found the Truma heater is pretty efficient when it comes to propane use.
Thanks Simon for checking it out! So far Laurie and I are handling the downsizing from our class A very well. It was the right time to make the switch. Hope all is well on your end Simon!
In the range of 16 - 17 mpg. Laurie and I are please with that mpg considering on a good day our Class A got 6 mpg. 😀 Thank you for dropping into the channel and taking time to comment. 👍
Thanks Scott. The exterior height is 9' 5" measured to the top of the air conditioner. Laurie and I appreciated you taking time to check out the video. 👍 Here is a link to the specification for both the 59p and 59px. www.winnebago.com/models/product/motorhomes/camper-van/solis?specifications=true
@@LaurieandBillRetired Pittsburgh, Pa is a little better then California but I need money for my taxes on our house. But I would love love to live in a trailer, like a no mad.
Yes I understand your reaction and it was a key discussion point in our purchase decision making. Our decision came down to since it was not 4 wheel drive, only front wheel drive, not being 4 wheel drive would limit the roads we would take the Solis down therefore the low hanging of the generator would not be an issue for us. But I certainly appreciate your perspective. Some owners have had lifts performed that gained them 2 to 3 inches. But that costs several thousand dollars. Ouch! 😒 Maybe when it comes time for new tires we'll consider doing a lift. For now we 're glad we have the generator even with the low clearance it creates. Thank you for dropping into the channel and taking a moment to comment. Much appreciated. 👍
Very in-depth, thank you
Logan, thanks for watching. Laurie.

Shouldn't the air conditioner work with the generator running while boondocking?
Hi Miles, you are correct the AC will work with the generator running when boondocking. I may have mis-spoke in the video. 👍
Great setup guys. What do you get for MPG?
In the range of 16 - 17 mpg. Laurie and I are please with that mpg considering on a good day our Class A got 6 mpg. 😀 Thank you for dropping into the channel and taking time to comment. 👍

nice tour. Would be nice if you can sound a bit more enthusiastic when you talk about it!

The camera is to close. Zoom out.

I was interested right up until you showed the generator location. What a stupid design decision.
