Her story is so sad and heartbreaking, thank goodness for the wonderful people that have been caring for her for 23 years. That is such an amazing commitment on their part. Im sure they did all they could do for her. It will be a sad day for them ,but the beginning of a whole new life for her to finally be with her own kind. They do the most amazing work. I used to live near the sanctuary and watched it being built. I watched "Monkey Business" - Jim and Jeremy at the start, - (pre Monkey Life") and have recorded most of them. The little ones are now a lot older, others have died. What a lovely ending to their life after suffering such awful treatment from us as human beings. Now I have recorded "Monkey Life" a few missing ones and trying to catch up on Sky Nature and Sky Mix. Well done to you all and DHL for your stirling work. Just waiting for series 17.

Well done all invovled in getting Chocolat to her forever home in monkey world. I can feel another 10 hour drive down from Scotland to Dorset to meet her. She is in the same group as Rodders my daughters adopted son as she calls him. Live your best life now Chocolat.

Wow I had forgotten all about Monkey World, watched this regularly on TV about 5 or 6 years back but since I got rid of my TV I forgor all about this and its manificent work, one of the last episodes I watched was a keeper I think by the name of Brian, who gently and compassionately saw off a monkey into the next life, the distress and confusion on that monkeys face still haunts me to this day, there seemed no difference between it and a humans in fact I have seen that same look on a human's face and
so sad to hear this story, proof if any be needed that whilst we can be very cruel to animals, we can be very kind as well, part of me looks forward to seeing her on future visits but knowing her backstory makes it sad
This story makes me sad for chocolat and hate any hunter that hunts wild animals in their natural habitats and bless Jeremy with going to bond with Chocolat because I know that he's going to have a bond with her that will be a bond that will make the rest of her life the best she can have and be better than anyone can expect and she might end up with a baby of her own maybe

Horrendously sad story but would not resources and money be better spent saving chimps and their habitat ?? Central Africa is exploding at the moment with unrest in a number of countries and bush meat poaching is uncontrolled .
