My shining moment would be last week when I met a retired pilot who basically sparked the idea for me start on my way to get a pilot license. Tomorrow is literally my first day to meet my potential instructor I couldn't be more excited!
TheNinjaGinger Wait, it's self funded? I thought cadet program means the airline company pays for everything? My cousin went through with the EVA Air cadet program and got everything for free.
Her father is also a pilot, so I think that had something to do with the fact that she got her education for free ( I bet there are many other ppl who apply for the same program that is being funded by government, but she was , lets say ' more lucky' than the others ) Either way, what a impressive young lady she is.Girls should look up to her . :)

They were very concerned when I first told them about my trial flight a while back and in fact that turned into a bad argument. Me having a PPL was a complete surprise. I had to be very careful keeping secret about my training for over two years. But two years of flying, three years of starving, three part-time jobs during university were totally worth the feeling of trust and respect in your family eyes, when they sit with you in the cockpit and in fact my dad even had his own trial flight with a CFI ;) Next #myshiningmoment will probably be when @Mariathepilot visits UK again and I'd get a chance to meet her ;)

Also, in some countries other than europe you actually have to work for your right to fly a airliner by building your experience. you cant just jump straight on a 737 with 250 hours.
After HS I was in the Marines 4 years, then in the early 1970's while going to college learned to fly at a Piper Flight Center N34 Turner Field Horsham Pennsylvania USA, It cost about 1,100 to get your private pilot license, for 30 years, I rented planes, bought a used 1979 Piper Archer, then 1982 Piper Tomahawk, many good flying experiences, stopped flying in Y2K, to expensive...

Everybody thought it was amazing since I was a girl and they were so few among pilots in my country. Anyway, after the check the instructor asked me if I am ready to fly by myself, and I answered very fast "Yes, Sir!". I couldn't wait to close the cockpit because I felt ready and because it was also such an honour. On the flight pattern I felt I belong there and I started singing "Yellow submarine". I don't know why I sang Beatles, it just came to me. The flight went perfectly, I had a smooth landing and had to stop and prepare for the barbaric baptism with thorns and thistles...

My whole life I’ve dated Swedish Norwegian and finish woman. Not sure how I’ve always been able to enjoy such beautiful woman in my life. Like you so happy and so excited about life! Which is great and all. But right after the year mark they have all just snapped and became a different person, overly needy then over react over such little things, not even anything that had to do with myself! Is this a normal occurrence with Scandinavian woman? Help! SOS, what do I do!
