There's a product called DeoxIT that's both an electrical contact cleaner and nonconductive lubricant. Might try putting that on contacts that may be corroded making it harder to separate connections. Can also be used after opened up to clean/lube, probably better than just regular electronics cleaner. Oh, and get the one with the standard spray top with tube, not the fancy tilt up tube one. The latter is terrible.
Bolt and nut gravity in the South must work different than bolt gravity in the Northeast. Up here when they fall, they either roll away under a car two stalls over, or out into the gravel driveway, or into a hidden zone inside the fender or motor. Then, there are the 5% that hide so well you have to go to the parts bin and get a replacement.
You forgot about the hidden nooks and crannies of the frame! That is where mine always end up at least, then it is a game of hide and seek until I find them.

Just an FYI, the NOCO products Ray uses are now available at WalMart. I found them yesterday in the automotive battery department. And they are cheaper than Amazon!
Everyone in the comment section needs to remember one thing...it took Ray years and years to become this good. Be patient, it takes years for new technicians to become as good as Ray.
Ray, I can just about guarantee you cut out the 2 to 3 minutes of huntin' & peckin' to get that bottom bolt started for the drier. After doing at least a 100 of these on U-Haul trucks, you'd think I'd have it figured out by now but alas, 1 of the hardest damn bolts to get started I've encountered!
I used the same technique to keep my blower motor going for a year! It kept running slower, and slower, and slower. My blower was inside, so I'd lean over and whack it with a screwdriver handle--a little tricky while driving, but...
Mine got like that and I used a 3/8 " drill bit to drill just through the housing ONLY where the motor shaft would ride in its bearing , then sprayed some silicone lube on it. Was still working when I gave the truck to my son n law 2 years later
awesome video! love the Humor, but i really hope you know with Fords in that year, when the ac motor fails usually the blinker fluid also needs replacing...
One cannot say, "Get rid of the junk..." while working on an older Ford vehicle(or any make really) ... You would end up without a project to work on! All makes break down eventually, just some more than others when the owners refuse to perform proper maintenance on their vehicle of choice! Got an aftermarket blower motor with the dongle connector that was wired backwards which caused the squirrel cage to run backwards and explode taking out the heater blower housing... Nice
The resistor got real hot because the blower motor was locked up and it's a good thing it didn't burn up that connector but cleaning it is a great idea I'd like to see the inside when you're done hey as usual great diagnostics for a good day
Afterward the owner of the 350 van goes to check what he got for his money. He looks and sees a Motorcraft blower motor (you declined the junk replacement) Then he sees that his wobbly battery was correctly reinstalled and terminals cleaned w/corrosion protection applied. A cleaning would not make it last. Usually when a blower motor will run when when you tap it, it usually means the bushings have either gone bad or the brushes have worn down and both those parts are not serviceable. Also in a service garage environment, if you do that and it comes back, the customer will expect you to warranty the repair and want the fan motor replaced for free.
Wow that was surprisingly easy for a van with a tiny hood/room/engine compartment..Go figure...Of course it probably won't be that easy for those of us who haven't done it 17 times..Fine job...

Can’t tell you how many ambulances I’ve done that job on. We also blow and vacuum out the fan box. Right inside there is the AC evaporator. We spray it with non-acid coil cleaner and rinse with water. Opens up the condensation drain and does wonders for the overall air conditioner performance. Typically we did not have to mess with the battery as they were relocated to a compartment in the back.
