I just want to say I appreciate the thoughtfulness you put into these reviews. I know it's your job, but hopping while simultaneously being conscious of how the shoe is affecting your movements, comfort, etc is no small task.
Excellent detailed analysis and explanation of the JT3 performance. The forefoot support and potential twist or sprain resonated with me and I could feel that on court. Great job!
man i thought that outrigger thing u mentioned may have not applied to me but i was naive. as usual ur are SPOT ON w ur analysis. i felt exactly what u were talking about on my drives since i play more nimble. I never rolled over completely but def felt what u mentioned and it did feel somewhat unstable
The outdoor reviews are among my favorite. Glad to hear that these are better than the last two. I haven’t been a fan of them just from a try on experience but I do appreciate their efforts to keep the designs fresh from shoe to shoe
Ayoooo...Chris taking it back to where it all started...had a few games outside a couple days ago and my knees still haven't recovered 😂😂... keep it up bro
I agree that the amount of signature shoes available, is over the top. Even guys that have proven themselves in the league over the years... you know their shoes don't sell. Anyway, I enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere in this video. Maybe not for every performance review, but it worked out well!
I agree with you on the signature shoe thing. I was pretty shocked when Trae Young and Donovan Mitchell got shoes. I just didn't think they were popular enough to warrant them. I do think sometimes the brand fails the athlete. The PG1s were one of the greatest signature debuts ever, but the design language was all over the place and they lost ppl after the PG2. I feel like Giannis line is headed in that same direction
I agree with this. Some guys/gals I look at and think “idk if they are “big” enough to sell shoes”. I almost feel like brands need to have parameters or a list of things someone needs to do before they can get a shoe.
All brands took the marketing out of the products. Especially Nike. Adidas has at least been marketing the AE1 and that’s awesome to see. But when it comes down to it that’s why these don’t sell. Nothing has that flare or wow status you saw before. No story telling. And the athletes seem so spilt from the products. The old commercials of LeBrons and KDs made me want to buy, now’s it like damn they came out with the 22s and 17s eh whatever. The marketing for the Nike Kyrie 1s and 2s was peak!
QOTD: Honestly, it doesn't matter to me who's with what brand because in today's sneaker climate, there's no need to be brand loyal. There are so many good options as a consumer. I appreciate the on-court performance review. I wish teen and 20-something me would've understood what I know now--performance shoes are about what's finding the best match for your foot and your game. I could've saved myself a lot of blisters. Thanks for the video! Got my engagement done, albeit a day late. Back to the future!
im new to the channel do you have any recommendations for basketball shoes that have good ankle support so rolls and twists are prevented and that looks nice?
Interesting, I watch all the Celtics games & Tatum does that exact movement Chris was talking about where he tweaked his ankle on the in-flared foam exposure. Hope to god something like that doesn’t happen to Tatum. Jordan brand is really irritating me this year making such small, but CRUCIAL mistakes on the flagship model not having a torsion plate on a $200 Jordan signature.. UNFORGIVABLE And now this, ROOKIE mistakes ruining what could have easily been 2 of the best shoes of the year.
I agree with you 100% on the signature shoe athletes. They are giving out signature shoes to anyone nowadays. That makes the whole idea of it less special, and the product more of the same with all the different athletes.
Dam I wish Chris was on the East Coast I always wanted to play Ball with him...I'm pretty much just like him we would def vibe.....I wonder why miss wing isn't with him In this Video but thats ok this is OG weartesters....Never mind theres miss Wing😂😂😂....
100% agree I think there should be less signature shoes. It’s quality not quantity. When you have to many athletes everything becomes diluted and starts to look the same and I’m sure hurt sales for other athletes. My question to piggy back off. How would you deal with a woman and man signature deal. Basically would Sabrina aja and Caitlyn count against the cap or bc they play in the W they are there other group. How would Nike manage their stars in the W with their stars in nba when it comes to handing sig shoe deals. I’m sure it hurts Nike more than it helps with all these athletes getting sig and then take down models. I’m sure it only a matter of time before Sabrina gets a sub line to her main sneakers
How abt moving marquee players to other sub brands to push em in d market?....like giving AD his own signature line under converse and make him d next LJ....though this will only work for nike
Had to come back and change my opinion 😅Took a chance on these and I killed this morning at the local LA fitness against good comp. I might have a new favorite shoe
Oddly enough the first Tatum shoe design intrigued me especially because of the floating footbed design……the rest have been meh. Glad they play well though, that’s most important. I would love to see the Kobe line be a legacy brand.
Today's QotD answer: Y'know, I actually miss Asics doing something with basketball. So, a signature athlete with Asics would be interesting as I rarely see anyone rocking Asics on the hardwood, especially given previously as Onitsuka Tiger (for those who are new, OT and Asics are basically the same company, just merged with new partners, hence the name change) did basketball in their starting lineup during the reconstruction period of Japan after WW2!
On the signature shoe thing & bringing a new guy to the table, if they’re good enough they’ll get a seat (except Jaylen Brown that black balled himself so he had to make his own 😂) Ja Morant has pretty much done the worst things marketably wise he could do off the court other than physically hurting someone 😂 But he’s so hot & in such high demand they just iced him for a year for the bad PR to calm down 2 years later he’s back w/ his 2nd signature & I’m seeing more people wearing those than Kyries even when he was in Ja’s spot w/ Nike @ his apex.
The athletes make bad decisions in what brand they sign with. Its not solely on the athlete to just be a "signature" athlete imho. Its how marketable they are as well, and the schematic of how the brand views the athlete's trajectory. A lot of hoopers run straight to Jordan Brand/Nike where theyll just he another signee there, when they couldve signed to another brand that wouldve valued them more and put more into brand development like Steph did with UA.
Being marketable is part of the play style/persona of the athlete. If the athlete is a signature caliber player then they’ll have those things or the brand will play to their strengths as adidas did with D Rose (who’s very quiet and introverted).
@WearTesters I felt like the story around D Rose was...."a kid from bad background from Chicago" and they juxtaposed that against his talents, and thats how they packaged D Rose. I'm from the Iverson era, and I know you are too (and from the Philly-area) where the story-telling greatly assisted in the marketability of the athlete. AI, like many were rough around the edges and needed a story told to coincide with their image, whereas say a Grant Hill/Jerry Stackhouse (Fila-delphia campaign) was selling product off talent alone. You are absolutely right, just wanted to throw a perspective out there
Completely agree. It’s multifaceted. Just don’t believe the choosing a bad brand aspect. Nobody wanted adidas until Rose was in them during that time. If the talent is there then the people will want his or her products.
Discontinuing pgs line still makes no sense. It was literally Nikes 3rd most worn shoe behind Kobe’s and kyries. At least with cp, Melo, & Russ it was obvious people weren’t buying those
They were moving from his due to his play, which made it difficult to market at the time, and ushered in Ja to replace. Maybe not the best decision under that regime. One of many bad decisions 😅
I'm actually a little surprised these are preferred to the JT1. I thought the 2s were ok. Felt like they were improving the rollover protection without making a rubber outrigger in both instances. These suck. The 39s suck. Badly designed sneakers with good technology behind them and poor execution. Typical current Nike lol
OG weartesters outdoor court review vibes 🙌
*Love to see it like the good old days.,*
Miss these types of reviews bro!!! 🏀Same thoughts on the shoe
@FailedOneTermPresident I've been in a lot of his videos from like 2018-2021!
I just want to say I appreciate the thoughtfulness you put into these reviews. I know it's your job, but hopping while simultaneously being conscious of how the shoe is affecting your movements, comfort, etc is no small task.
Thank you 😊
I really like this hoop-and-talk format for performance reviews 👍
Agreed! Keep this going guys
I love how you always keep it 💯 don’t use clickbait-y titles like, “IS THIS TATUM’S BEST SHOE?!”
Best sneaker channel on RUclips for over a decade!
Excellent detailed analysis and explanation of the JT3 performance. The forefoot support and potential twist or sprain resonated with me and I could feel that on court. Great job!
Bought these for indoor play and they are an AWESOME shoe. They look great on foot and have perfect cushion.
The live Review is honestly the best. It shows the human side - the makes, the misses - etc.
man i thought that outrigger thing u mentioned may have not applied to me but i was naive. as usual ur are SPOT ON w ur analysis. i felt exactly what u were talking about on my drives since i play more nimble. Cool aesthetic of the shoe. AND CHRIS IS BACK OUTSIDE JUST LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYSS
man feels refreshing when u review performance on an outdoor court..u shud do this more often
I used to watch these all the way back in middle school! Now I'm watching this in college 🥲
Ayoooo...Chris taking it back to where it all started...had a few games outside a couple days ago and my knees still haven't recovered 😂😂... keep it up bro
Taking it back to the streets! These were always my favourite review format
Yessir
W sweat shirt
Chris’s review in top ❤
Really nice review format to actually SEE what positives/negatives you’re referring to, actually see how foams compress!
Now this is how you do a performance review. Not just a "i played in them and did well so shoes are good" its a "how this shit works on the court"
That ankle turn recreation gave me the chills. Nothing worse.
Def his best but the non out rigger was an interesting choice that I didn’t even consider until this. Great review as always you guys are the best!
I love the tatum 3s, been wearing em over my kobes
More reviews like this please!
Also, awesome hoodie!
Yup. The OG outdoor court reviews. I missed this! 👌👌🔥
Loved the way this video was shot! Great review guys☘️
Hey Chris. Can you please tell me what basketball you are using in this video? I’ve been on the hunt for a good outdoor ball. Thanks!
That ending 😂, “he didn’t even ask” 😂 that’s real right there
Love the outdoor live review. Big vibe
I agree that the amount of signature shoes available, is over the top. Even guys that have proven themselves in the league over the years... you know their shoes don't sell. Anyway, I enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere in this video. Maybe not for every performance review, but it worked out well!
This was such a great review.
Would you reccomend the tatum 3 for bigger players specifically for the cushion?
Gettin' buckets!!!
Boom! I've been waiting on this one!
I agree with you on the signature shoe thing. I was pretty shocked when Trae Young and Donovan Mitchell got shoes. I just didn't think they were popular enough to warrant them. One example...Zion with Jordan Brand...
Good to see you back doing shoe reviews! 😁❤️🏀💪
All brands took the marketing out of the products. Especially Nike. Adidas has at least been marketing the AE1 and that’s awesome to see. But when it comes down to it that’s why these don’t sell. They give out an old-school 🏀 👟 feel but also New School, Jordan did them right! 1Milli here we come!!
Chris is there anything you do to break in your shoes faster?
QOTD: Honestly, it doesn't matter to me who's with what brand because in today's sneaker climate, there's no need to be brand loyal. There are so many good options as a consumer.

great review as always
Thank you for the warning concerning the shoe and its stability issues.
Mrs. Wing updates the editing skills once again 👏👏👏
Appreciate you noticing, but this one was ALL Chris. He had a vision and he made it happen
@@WearTestersreally impressed by this one. Awesome job.
The Kawhi 4 does the same thing when I weave in and out I sprained my ankle once in them and haven’t put them back on but I’m probably over doing it .
Interesting, I watch all the Celtics games & Tatum does that exact movement Chris was talking about where he tweaked his ankle on the in-flared foam exposure.

Nice, an outdoor review! ❤
There are too many signature shoes, that look too much alike. A signature shoe should be special and unique.
They feel plush for real. Dope review. All feet are different. They ran a big for me. I would suggest yall try a half size down.
I agree with you 100% on the signature shoe athletes. They are giving out signature shoes to anyone nowadays. That makes the whole idea of it less special, and the product more of the same with all the different athletes.
*Hi Chris, I hope everything is okay on your end what are the best soles for playing basketball.,*
Nike sb p.rod line was 10+ models wish they would make more or atleast retro the rod 3 those were the greatest not to mention the commercial
I agree that there are too much signature shoes now. There are people who don’t deserve one.
Awesome review as always. 👌🏽
Dam I wish Chris was on the East Coast I always wanted to play Ball with him...I'm pretty much just like him we would def vibe.....I wonder why miss wing isn't with him In this Video but thats ok this is OG weartesters....Never mind theres miss Wing😂😂😂....
Kobe 8s did the same thing to me, tip toeing through and my ankle was on the floor next sec
I really like the look of the Tatum 3's
nice vid 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Mid cut of high cut?
Outside Chris feels.. weird lol what a day to play in though! And 9:50 😂😂 Chris spitting bars out here😂
Longtime supporters know this is old school Chris.
Getting Old school vibes from this shoe 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wish I could afford the Garden Pack for those Low OG’s.
Cheers 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The 90s feel is strong with this one
I’m surprised that it’s a rubber cupsole tbh. I might think twice about buying these. And I love the take on signature shoes! There are too many!!!
Had to come back and change my opinion 😅Took a chance on these and I killed this morning at the local LA fitness against good comp. I might have a new favorite shoe
University of Hawaii shorts, so dope!
How is the weight of the shoes?
Freak 6 or tatum 3?
I hope JB will release the Olympics cw
Wow! Surprised that Chris like these.
Oddly enough the first Tatum shoe design intrigued me especially because of the floating footbed design……the rest have been meh. Glad they play well though, that’s most important. I would love to see the Kobe line be a legacy brand.
I miss these type of reviews

That hoodie tuff
I like it when u answer QOTD the Chris way
Step 1: Nahh
Step 2: Here's a cool thought tho
They look good on feet Imo.
I say that as someone who had a pair day one 😅
put luka at new balance for a star his caliber im surprised at how lacklustre his signatures have been
I wanted to get these for basketball, but I went with the Trae young 3’s because I didn’t wanna wait for the release 😂😂😂
WearTesters rarely mention whether the shoes that being reviewed are suitable or not for a particular type of foot. 😋
Finally something different
On the signature shoe thing & bringing a new guy to the table, if they’re good enough they’ll get a seat (except Jaylen Brown that black balled himself so he had to make his own 😂)
Ja Morant has pretty much done the worst things marketably wise he could do off the court other than physically hurting someone 😂
But he’s so hot & in such high demand they just iced him for a year for the bad PR to calm down 2 years later he’s back w/ his 2nd signature & I’m seeing more people wearing those than Kyries even when he was in Ja’s spot w/ Nike @ his apex.
Shoe is really beautiful 😍

1: 90s reebok vibes
2: too many signatures
Then wear tester socks tho 😎😎

Zion is next
With all these players with signature shoes, I’m surprise Anthony Davis doesn’t have his own signature shoe. He just wears LeBrons That’s odd to me.
Street clothes isn’t healthy enough to have an sig lol…. Look at embiid
It seems a cartoon put on your feet. Looks great
What can we do to be weartester athletes?😂
why do i get the feeling the shoe ainy stable
looks like an ankle roll waiting to happen
Nice Caitlin Clark hoodie.
Wemby to under armor
Brunson to under armor
Zion back to Adidas
There is no parity in the shoe market everbody is nike
PLEASE keep showing where the big toe is on every shoe!
looking like kamikazes!!!
I thought I clicked on an old video.
