- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- This is to show how South Africans reacted when offered to eat our puto at dinuguan for the first time, others called it “chocolate meat”.
So lucky that we were able to get people to try and eat it. I even tagged along my husband to come with me so that I can justify that he, as a foreigner, is eating it.
Thanks for watching.

Let them come to you. Set up a tent. Prepare 2 dishes, for example Dinuguan and Adobo side by side. Label them. Write down all the main ingredients that you used to cook the dish, and put a "free food tasting" sign. The best way to describe a Dinuguan is "Filipino Pork Blood stew." I I think this is the best approach if you want them to taste your food.
Thats what i was doing na po...after having a stall in the flea market...but before that...but before having the stall...i had my small board with me...stating the name of the dish...with Filipino name and the english name of the dish....with the ingredients....but anyway thanks po

Consuming pigs or chickens blood is natural in our country. We don't really eat that as raw, we COOKED it. I understand those people who feels YUCKS on this food. But this is actually a FILIPINO CUISINE. We didn't invented this for fun. We invented this for human consumption as food. Because Filipino people are known for being RESOURCEFUL human being, especially in cooking. We do not eat all parts of the pig, chicken and cow's meat. We only choose those EDIBLE and SAFE parts. These bloods has no HIV/AIDS or what so ever. If you eat grilled food such as beef meat, you also consuming a small amount of blood. Same thing with Dinuguan. Dinuguan comes from the tagalog or Filipino word "Dugo" which is means "Blood". There are other term for Dinuguan in different parts of the country. This is one of the best CUISINE of Filipino people. It's UNIQUE at the same time, has FEAR FACTOR to foreign people. Hahaha. But this food is 99% SAFE. The missing 1% goes to your doubts. Hahaha... But this is really our one of national dishes. And lastly, once and for all, we only used PIGS or CHICKENS blood in Dinuguan recipe. We do not use HUMANS blood. Hahaha... We are not Vampire nation. LOL. FYI. The taste of Dinuguan is SOUR, SALTY, SAVORY and YOU CAN'T SMELL THE FLESH BLOOD. Because the VINEGAR and LEMON GRASS over powered the blood itself. So the only taste you will got is WONDERFUL TASTE. TRUST me. This food is good with rice, but in original way of eating this, is with PUTO (Filipino rice cake with cheese on top). FYI. Puno ISN'T a BAD WORD. Hahaha... You can search it on Google these words and terms or your reference. Hahaha... Anyway, whether you like it or not, this food will retained as one of the best Filipino dishes. You may also check some videos on RUclips, if you feel curious about this food. So that you will get more information about this food/recipe.

Should cook DINUGUAN the ilokano way which looks better I’ve seen it lol
hmmm...check ko nga kung paano...lol.....thanks for watching po...God Bless.
The ilocano way (dinardaraan) is less saucy and more on the dry side. it's usually cooked until the oil from the pork comes out. That's the version of dinuguan I grew up with and don't really like the super saucy ones. Although I think the ilocano way is not very suitable for the puto combo.

It's great to inform them first because it's a sign of respect of their beliefs and diet. If they don't like it, then move on or serve them with different cuisines. And I do commend her informing people it's made out of pork blood.
You must disclose The ingredients of the dish you are offering. You may be disrespecting one’s beliefs as well as not giving them the right option to make the decision whether or not they want to try the dish or not. Please do not disrespect others by not telling them what’s in the dish. Whoever suggested To you to not disclose what’s in the dish prior to feeding it to people should reflect on their morals. Also, you mentioned that it is served at every Filipino party, that also is not the case. We do not serve this all the time at either side of my families get together. This dish is considered a little bit extreme here in America. And it will take some getting used to for those who are not used to it. Thank you so much for letting people choose whether or not they want to try it.
