At 70, I decided to whittle away at my garage😫. Little did I know whittle meant subtracting, not adding. Within 1 months time I've bought 2 Royal Enfields. A Classic 350 and the GT 650. Maybe not the smartest thing to do, but when the candle is burning down, one must thoroughly enjoy every minute. Looking forward to your upcoming adventures. Saturday's early hours (3-4 am) are reserved to watching you and TMF. A most pleasant way to start the day. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
We are more alike than I thought! Your love of color & shapes exceeding common sense and reasonable! I "got" the metallic green/gold and I get your obsession with the NEXT bike too! Hahaha, emotionally weak, Dave!!! Twins.
Great update Dave - I share a lot of your thinking with regard to slimming down the fleet....I too love all my bikes but if you don't ride them, what is the point in having them!! Made a great choice with the Street Triple, still lament the departure of mine and may well get another in future.......oh, and the GS is too good an all rounder to be without (whichever version).
Well, I'm still on 12 bikes and love them all. Regarding the CBR600, my recent restoration was repainted to represent my old Rothmans one from 87 so there's an option if you can't find one.
Sounds like sensible changes in the garage. If they are not being used....... That Street Triple is gorgeous, Carol has toured Europe on her 675. Exciting bikes without being too intimidating. Gran Canaria is brilliant. There's loads of vids from over there on our channel. GC200 west coast is a must
If you need anything when you're up in Northumblerand, or in deed before you come up. Let me know, I'm in Morpeth. If you're doing Kielder Forest drive, check it's open and dont forget the check the tide times for Holy Island. Enjoy, there are some better roads up here than feature in the 250.
Very kind Matthew, appreciate the kind gesture. Good info about Holy Island, I remember when I used to work for ‘Look North’ we were constantly called to the causeway to film the trapped tourists!🤣
Hi Dave, Thanks for the update. Your still thinking N+1, where N = current bikes in garage.👍 Enjoy Gran Canaria, TMFs trips there look great. Busy year for you sounds good for us lot watching.🏍️
Good to see the Triumph is now registered and looking forward to see how you think it rides. For your circumstances I think you made the right decision on the GT as for a sunny weekend blast I recon you would pick the new Triumph over the GT. Throwing in an Africa Twin would be an interesting twist. Happy riding for 2024.
Hello from Texas.... Just found your channel and I've subscribed. I had the same 2007 VFR a few years back and wished I had kept. Yours is looking beautiful. I've had my first Triumph, a Trident for a bit, but now preparing to purchase a Street Triple RS in a few months so I'll be watching to see how you get on with yours. 😃
Good morning Dave and happy new year. 3 bikes is still a good number to fully utilise so ride the new Triumph in before adding to the stable. Your VFR should tick the nostalgia thing and all your planned trips will keep you busy - no time to ride a 4th bike. Looking forward to your 2024 videos.
Glad to say you have the same bike condition as me Dave OCD (obsessive changing disorder). That Triumph looks absolutely stunning pal. And your VFR 800 is like my ST1300 utterly mint and vastly underrated. Looking forward to your content in '24 and HNY! 😊
Well Dave, Getting a 93 cbr600f in those colours will be a challenge.as that is a 93 year only colour. I had the 93 cbr900rr fireblade in those colours. Youre best bet is uk or Europe, and possibly japan for that one.
Mr Perry looks like your going to be busy in 24 looking forward to your upcoming content, hey that triple looks wheelie good in the stable hope to see it in the flesh sometime soon , Keep up the great work 👍👍🫡🙋🏻♂️🕺
Good luck with the Speed Triple. Yeah the lack of available green lanes is a pain. My 2 mates and I are always searching for routes. Saying that we are heading for Bulgaria in June and July and doing all off road over there, including the Buzludzha monument
@@WheelieGoodTV it is a savage country, almost as beautiful as Ireland. There is almost nowhere that you can not drive off road. You should give it a try sometime.
I thought I could hear geordie twang in ya bonny lad, his shout when you do the Northumberland's 250, I'm a geordie, in gateshead, and also have a viffer vtec, love ya vids
That is great that you have moved bikes on easily, this time of year can be tricky. I'm shuffling bikes too currently. The 765RS is an amazing bike, better than the Aprilia I think in many ways. 3 is a good number! 😀 Sounds like you have quite a year ahead to look forward to mate 🙂
Be interested to see if you can find the CBR. I bought one in 2020 as I'd always wanted one in the 90's but didn't have one then. I looked at LOTS of them up and down the country. Most are crashed, thrashed, hacked about. In the end I settled on an original 97 bike with 2000 miles on the clock. It took some finding! By the way that Street Triple looks gorgeous. Thinking about one if I replace my XSR900.
Yes a few people have come forward and told me of them but like your search they are battered and bruised. Still, I’ll keep looking. I’m totally in love with the ST. 😍
Nice vid Dave. I was more hoping to see your reaction on the Street Triple to be honest. Guess I’d have to wait until next week I guess. Myself I’ve added heated grips to mine which are a godsend, cruise control, a tail tidy and radiator guard by Evotech. Next I’m adding a rear Givi mount for a top case and some nice rain friendly tires. Then I’d be ready for some long rides up to the Swiss, French and Italian alps next June.
As a Northumbrian i know the area well and the 250 is good , but it does miss some great places. Plus it doesn’t warn people that the Kielder drive is nothing but a loggers track, great if your on an adventure bike, but unless it’s a dry day a sod on anything else, we don’t even take our SUV along it. we saw a couple on a gold wing stuck a couple of years ago on a wet and miserable day and helped them get turned around, back to safety. the safest route it carry on north through kielder and come out via Bonchester bridge. At the end of the day it’s your choice !
Really looking forward to the Route 66 footage later in the year. On my bucket list once I'm retired. I'd say your'e torn between the GS and the VFR as both are great tourers. Ive owned both and would probably go with the VFR as I have little 29" legs!! I own a 750GS factory lowered that is perfect for my size and a great tourer. My luxury bike is the Super Meteor which I would marry if I could! Such a real back to basics bike. Happily for me I have no desire to change them. Good luck with your new projects this year Dave!
@@WheelieGoodTV Hopefully you'll get an offer to test one. You'll be won over once you're on even despite the slightly 'stiff' rear shocks! Even TMF warmed to it in the end.
So true what you said about access to any off-road riding in Ireland. When you look at how many bikes come over here to do the wild Atlantic way, wouldn't it be fantastic if we had some off-roading options to offer as well. With all the forestry and wind turbines now, especially, the access roads are already there, if only we were allowed access. I live in Kerry, where there is plenty of scenery and forestry, and wind turbines .There is one place that the land owner has opened up a track for off road riding, but it's something along the lines of the Trans Euro Trail we need, wishful thinking I guess. If only they put a trail for motorcycles beside all the green ways 😄( the unused old railway lines) that are opening down this way for cyclists and walkers .
@WheelieGoodTV I might send a little email to one of our well known local politicians, see if he can put in a good word for us. I'll just tell him I know of a very good camera man who also has very good social media coverage to reach the required audience...😁.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Dave! Have you heard of the marhematical formula for the perfect number of motorcycles to own, which is x+1, with x being the current number of bikes you own?
Nice discussion Dave...look forward to seeing some more videos of the Emerald Isle! Just to absolutely clarify the situation.....is it 'Patreon' ....and not ' Only Fans' ....? 🤣🤣🤣💚
Happy new year sir the 3 bikes looks about right for now now sure about the decision for a track day money pit bike but everyone has to scratch that itch. Now at 65 and living in Australia I was surprised when my wife earlier in the year said we should go and visit family in the uk and of course she had planned an epic trip. We flew in into grand canaria and did just that hired two 2023 Honda cb500x and had a ball in the mountains. That’s was June 2023 and the weather was fabulous. Now 2024 January we are off to Tasmania on our Hondas cb500x but already dreaming about a tiger 900 pro on our return. I might just keep the 500x and buy a triumph T100 and save some money as need to retire one day then it will be only one bike a Royal Enfield 350 classic and no car will use the wife’s actually if I sell my car now I could buy a 3rd bike but then I would have to start a RUclips channel. I don’t know how you guys do what you do.ride safe don’t work too hard.
Can’t wait to see your Route 66 content. Being a North American I have always wanted to do that trek however and unfortunately, it’s not in the budget and 2005 GSXR 1000 is not the ideal buggy for such a trip. Will be living vicariously through you as you do the trip. Should be a beauty👍🏼
