I was dating someone in college for just over a month, and we had just made things "official." I was in a play at school, and we were gearing up for our opening day. He was really supportive and would take me out for late meals to make sure he saw me, and things were fine - he was nice, but something felt off, too. The few days before opening night, I kept trying to get together with him - my intention was to end it. I kept calling and trying to make plans, but all of a sudden, he wasn't available. On the opening night, I finally thought to myself, "It's over, I can't just stay in this relationship and wait to have this face-to-face with him," so I called and apologized, but broke up to him on the phone. That night, after the show, we had a cast party at a local restaurant. I kept looking at this guy across the room, who also kept looking at me. After a half hour of "making eyes" at each other, I laughed at my friends in the show that I just broke up with a guy, and no one really meets in a crowded restaurant, and I should quit looking. A few minutes later, I looked back up, and he was gone, and I used that as a sign that it just wasn't meant to be...but within two seconds of that realization, a napkin note was placed in front of me from the guy! He said that I was cute, but he had to go, and he wanted me to call him. I thought it was so bold that I called him the next day. That was almost 16 years ago, and I haven't gone a day without him in my life since. This year will be our 10th wedding anniversary. Sometimes things don't work so that something better can.

This is by far one of my favorite videos of yours. I love seeing you talk about things like this, it feels like chatting with a friend.
I was laid off from a marketing job I had been at for 8 years in February of 2019. I was crushed, angry, and scared. But not even an hour later, I had spoken to a friend and they had said something very similar to yours. They had an opening they had thought I'd be perfect for and within 10 days I was getting ready to fly out for a 5 hour final interview. It was the most stressful time but the best blessing in disguise.

I just can’t even relay how much I needed this video. I recently moved to Texas and starting my new job in a few days. I know the feelings you are describing. I’ve always wanted my own space but it’s terrifying especially that first night alone. I think the hardest thing for me was realizing I would have to start over and wouldn’t know all the “in” things to do. Unfortunately due to the virus I can’t go and find a church to join at this moment. I will also be the youngest at my job, not by as much, but also one of very few females all who are much older. I am super thankful I have my dog, Zeus, with me to have a buddy on this journey. I loved your story and hope things work out for me as well as they did you. I know there are times things will get rough, but I have to remind myself God has a plan. ❤️

I feel more connected to you when you discuss your background and how it has shaped you, so I reallyy appreciate this. I to had an experience similar to yours where I thought the man I was with would be the one forever. When he broke up with me he said ‘you will find the man out there who you are desiring, who treats you the way you deserve, it’s just not me.” In denial, I thought it was him all along and I didn’t think that would ever happen. That was the Lord talking through him. Only a short time later I met that man who treats me the way I deserve, like he had said. I appreciate you discussing this rawness as I feel EVERYONE needs this! Keep the videos like this coming :)

I thought your story was very sweet and heartfelt. I moved from NY to Florida after college for work as well. I had intended to stay for experience and go back but my then boyfriend (noe husband) came to see what it was like here...and loved it. He said to not come back. I'll come here. Been married 22 years and here 24. :)

My husband and I had only been dating for a couple of months when at dinner he slips and says "Well, when we get married..." My jaw had to be in my lap. I said "What was that?" He replied "What did I say? Oh, yeah... well.... you know... we are going to get married." He was just so calm and confident, like it had already been written. It's crazy because I had recently told my best friend that I knew he was the one but after a past bad relationship I wanted to take things slow. Well, we were engaged at 6 months dating and married the week of our one year anniversary. Slow.. not so much, but 13 years later we're still going strong! BTW, I loved this video, I could listen to you talk all day.

Getting laid off sucks. I can relate. You have to focus on the things you can control, and covid-19 and layoffs are out of our control. Our time, energy, and effort are within in control. So I’m trying to focus my time on my family, my energy on staying positive, and my effort in trying to find another position. It’s times like this that define you, and how you react to them.

Great story, Blair! Funny how you said about feeling so different 12 months later. I am living in the UK with my English husband, feeling lonely, isolated (in life, as well as in this crazy pandemic!), lost. And in one year’s time we will be living in the US, where I can drive (strangely difficult thing to be without), be amongst my family and friends and thrive. I have been telling myself that soon enough everything will be the way it should be, so it was nice to hear the same from you! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing this story with us all Blair❤️. What an amazing journey you had. One thing my momma always told me when she was alive is that “ god has a plan for you “. I never really believed that until she passed away and I got married to by husband. My mother was fighting cancer for 5 years of which she was in remission for 3 of those years. One of my best friends from a previous job ( Shelly) had been helping take care of my mother while I was in nursing school. Well Shelly had twin boys whom I knew and met several times ( one who was living in Vegas most of his life). Tragically my mother passed away on Valentine’s Day in 2014. Shelly then unfortunately got diagnosed with cancer as well and her son Robert moved up here to help care for her. Well, that is the time we really got to know each other and we have now been together for 5 years. Almost married for 2 years. His mother Shelly passed away unfortunately as well. I always say that my mother brought us together. It’s weird. I think that if his mother never got sick ( which obviously I wish she didn’t), him and I never would have gotten together. It’s weird how things workout sometimes. Sorry this is so long. Thanks for sharing. I wish I lived closer to you.. I totally could see us being friends.. or I would hope😀 god bless to you and your family ❤️

Thank you, as always! I cried throughout the whole story! I can relate so much. I felt like I wasn't being obedient to God by staying in my longterm relationship, and then felt the same peace you did about ending it. Then, it became clear within a month who I was meant to marry! Have never heard someone else explain that same feeling of disobedience before, and have always loved how you and Riley are a match made by God, just as I feel about my husband! I always say that we have an arranged marriage - arranged by God. It was planned from the beginning.

Blair! This is amazing... thanks so much for sharing! I found myself tearing up during your story. I have had similar moments in life where I have felt God speaking to me so clearly and guiding me in one direction or another. Obedience is totally key and being able to recognize His guidance and having faith that He knows best. So awesome! On another note... I live in NC and work in Raleigh. I love this place! I remember you mentioned wanting to find a place for family vacations in a different video. Our little family generally spends a week at Topsail Island every year (when we aren’t planning for Disney). It’s a wonderful place to slow down (not much to do) and just enjoy beach life and family. Take care!

So, I've been catching up on your videos today and I cannot explain the connection I feel to you. While I am not nearly as faithful or devoted to God as you, we have had a lot of similar experiences and it just reminds me that we are never alone, even when we feel the most alone. You talking about having you relationship fall apart and then so quickly you found Riley, is so much like what I went through just before meeting my husband. It happened differently, but it is so clear that my previous relationship with C needed to end (and feel truly ended) so I could move forward. It wasn't even 6 months later that a guy I had met in school a few years prior, sent me a message out of the blue on a dating app. That was it. We were talking all the time and dating before we knew it. From August 2012 to November 2013, my world was completely changed. As of today, I am happily married, living in a house (I hate), and we just had our first baby in September after 2 1/2 years of infertility. Thank you, Blair, for being here! You are such a lovely soul and I love being able to follow you on here.

I felt like I could relate to your young self being ready to take the plunge and move anywhere for a job because I feel the same way! I just graduated from college and have an internship in NYC. Although the future of that internship is hanging in the balance, your story has encouraged me and reassured me even more of my decision to take a leap of faith and to pursue my dreams! Can't wait for the next story time!

I loved hearing you talk about this! Fun fact my boyfriend and I started dating in 2011. He’s 9 years older then me. I had a crush on him in high school. At the time he was delivering for Schwans Foods. Fast forward to 2nd year of college and twice a week we’d cross paths on the highway and we always waved at each other. Then I spent the next 2 1/2 years at a college out of state. I didn’t know he was still around by the time I moved back home. I got a job at the local grocery store and just happened to see him there one day. Then I boldly found him on Facebook and we’d chat on there every once in while. We both were in relationships at the time. By 2010 he was single and working for a different delivery company and I was ending my relationship. They day I broke up with my ex, he had texted me asking how my day was going, when he found out he told me to meet him at his next stop. He gave me a huge hug and asked me to stop over after he was home from work (he was living on the other side of the block of where my parents house was). By August 2011 we officially became a couple, by April 2012 I moved in with him and the rest is history!

Such a beautiful story! I moved from Portland, OR to Tucson, AZ in July 2018 to be with my boyfriend while he attended law school. We broke up three months later, but I decided to stay in AZ because I had found a job teaching middle school history and French that I adore (and I loved having my cute little apartment, too!). In July 2019 I went on a first date with an incredible man, and 8 months later, we are talking seriously about our future and beginning to make plans for marriage and next steps. For a little while, it felt like my world was falling apart, but I am so grateful I stuck this adventure out! I gained so much independence, so many friends, and a love like I could never have imagined. Can’t wait to see where the rest of your story takes you!!

I was in a 3 year long relationship with a man I thought I would marry.
In the 3 years from when we began dating, I had moved out of my parents house and began my career. I had a clear path of what I was hoping to get out of life and accomplish. He stopped putting forth the effort to see me and for a good 2 months before we broke it, it was like I was already single. He had pulled away in all ways and I was already moving on we just hadn't made things official.
We broke up on April 30th of 2018 and I met my future husband on May 5th of 2018.
We got married September 1, 2019. He is a dream and Its crazy to think where I would have been if I hadn't broke up with my previous guy.

I dated this guy from senior year high school to sophomore year of college. I went to school in north TX and he went to school closer to Houston. It was great for a while, but I found that I was setting my self on fire to keep him warm. I did all the work to maintain the relationship and I was getting very tired. My relationship with the lord was not great also.
I broke up with him October of my sophomore year because on my birthday, he never said anything- no text, call, nothing. I felt so hurt, but then I looked around at all the friends I made and I realized that what I needed was them at the moment.
Months following, I was flying so high. I sort “dated myself” and found out more about my self (what I believe in etc).
Then, one night, I had just finished going to a class 6-8pm and my friends were asking me out to go two-stepping. Going out late like that was out of the ordinary for me, but something in my gut told me that I deserved to have fun with my friends that night.
When we arrived, we danced and laughed and then I locked eyes with this one guy. I looked away and looked back at him, but he was gone. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder and it was him! He asked me if I wanted to dance.
We danced and talked until the sun came up. It felt like time stood still. Then, he mentioned that he was nursing major and his parents were both nurses- just like me!! He then told me his hardships, which I appreciated and he told me that he made it through with determination and Him. He pulls out this gold cross necklace underneath his flannel.
I’m so glad I listened. We have been engaged for a year now and we have a cute little Shiba Inu. They both mean the world to me! Thank you Lord for this.

I had a similar story with a major intervention from the Lord! Lol. I met my ex boyfriend right before my 16th birthday. We dated for 8 years. There were good times but many more bad times but I thought that was all a part of being in love. I thought that was my test from the lord, how hard I was willing to fight for this relationship. We had plans to get married, he joined the Navy, things got worse and worse.....but I thought I wasn't supposed to "give up". I was cleaning my room one day and I remember having a conversation with the Lord and I said "if him and I arnt supposed to be together it's going to take something really big to make me stop fighting. " .......clear as day he said "ok then". I don't know how many weeks after that convo but my entire world crashed down around me......I'm not even kidding. He told me he had cheated on me with a girl in the navy, she was now pregnant, this girl started harassing me, broke into my email, horrible horrible things. I went to school, work, then came home and cried all night until I passed out. Every day. During that time a guy I had been friends with in high school had been messaging me. He knew my ex and I had told him what happened. He was such a comfort to me. Always just friendly and wonderful. Then a few months later we went on a date. I totally understand when you say you are sick to your stomach to think of what might have been. My now husband Rob is the most amazing, caring, incredible human being I have ever met. On our wedding day, the lord spoke to me again. At the alter trying to pay attention to the pastor, the lord said "this is what I planned for you." ALL THE GOOSEBUMPS!!! lol. Now we have been married for 5 years, have 2 little boys and I thank god ever. single. Day.

I met my husband while we were working at a movie theatre just turned 18 and had graduated from high school and started college. I had told a fellow coworker that I close to at the time that I thought he funny and cute. So she set up a day that we could all go bowling and asked if my now husband if he could pick me up since I didn't drive at the time. well everyone else was "decided" to be two hours late! So my husband and I bowled and talk while we waited for everyone else. Over the next couple of weeks we started to hang with friends a lot then slowly quite asking friends and just started hanging out by ourselves. I knew he was the right one for me within a month of us properly dating. We will being celebrating our 17th year this October.

Isn’t it amazing when God’s handiwork is so evident? My husband was laid off a year and a half ago from his dream job. It was unsettling, but God gave me a “peace that surpasses understanding” about it. He was hired by an even better company (better pay, amazing hours, loves his boss), and he never went without a paycheck. Glory to God! Keep the story times coming; that was so entertaining!

I'm loving the abundance of Blair videos! I have a super long story that I'd love to share all of, but it's a novel (I'll try to condense it). I was student teaching last semester and after about halfway through I started having a really bad experience with my master teacher and uni supervisor which was stressful enough but alongside classes and dancing due dates for assignments, as well as CA wildfires. About the same time, someone that I knew from a Twitch stream had been deployed (Navy sailor) for about a month but had to be evacuated off due to a medical emergency not a week after departure. After he got home and was settled, we started getting to know each other slightly better than we had through calls and texting (all during my stress, breakdowns and due dates). Once things started to get really bad on my end, he entered my life and although I really didn't have the time to give that I had anyways, we got to the point of him asking me out - which was literally the only bright point in my life as I had just been told that I needed to restart the program that I was in because (in many, many fewer words) my teaching sucked. I'm still very thankful for his bright spot in my life, and I for him. I can't say that we're anything more than dating (haven't even met in person 🤦🏼‍♀️) but I highly doubt I could have gotten through that period in my life without him.

I was in a year long (mentally exhausting) relationship. It ended Halloween of 2015. I reconnected with my neighbors best friend (we were friendly but that was it) and by thanksgiving I had a new boyfriend. We were married in January of this year and are working on starting our family! God’s time is perfect.

Thanks for sharing that, Blair. God is so Good and Faithful to his children. I had a similar experience involving a job. After my second bout with cancer and chemo, my body wasn't recovering fast enough and my job was in jeopardy (or so I thought). I prayed and prayed for Him to preserve my job, because I was scared of losing it. One day (after my 1000th prayer), God actually answered me. I heard a voice say, "Why do you think you need that job for me to take care of you?". Right after that I notified my employer that I would not be returning. Now, I had been with that Company for ten years, but the sense of peace I felt after quitting was awesome. It just goes to show that by leaning and depending on our Lord we have nothing to worry about, or fear. He's so Awesome!

I met my now-husband in February of 2014, at a new job that I had started. What's crazy is that I was originally supposed to work at a different location, but I was moved to the location that he worked at. I was in a long term relationship at the time but wasn't completely happy, and my family didn't care for him either. As I got to know my future husband and started a friendship with him, I knew that I had to end it with my then-boyfriend. I remember asking God for a sign on what to do, and I too just felt an overwhelming feeling to end it with him. I love my husband and my life and I'm so happy now, I often think about it and I can't imagine how things would have turned out for me without him!

Sitting here with tears just flowing, God is speaking through you and I thank you so much for allowing it. I too had my whole life planned, great job (still have one as a labor and delivery RN💗) with visions of a beautiful life with my new husband from college. When he suddenly walked out on me with no warning after only 5 months of marriage and filed for divorce my world fell apart. Not many friends, now almost divorced at 26, still looking for my church home; I’m still waiting for the end to my story. I know that when it comes I’ll look back and I too will wonder what I might have missed had this not all happened. Thanks for the reminder💜

Loved this video. You don't see a lot of story time videos on here and I love them.
I graduated college in Dec 2000 and couldn't find a job. In May 2001 I had a brother move to Kansas City. He was there for schooling, but was also working as an ER nurse. In the beginning of Sept he was talking with me and recommended that I move to KC because it was a bigger city and I had bigger chances of getting a job in my field. I prayed about it and wanted peace and my parents blessing. The next morning I woke up with peace and I eventually got my parents blessing. Jan 2, 2002 I was moving out to KC. I had already been hired at the hospital my brother was working at. We were half way there, when the nurse manager of the ER calls and says that someone within the hospital applied for the job I had been hired for, so they were going to have to let me go. The job had been posted to hospital employees before they even interview outside people. No one from the hospital had applied, so they started looking outside. So here I am moving 1000 miles away from the only city I'd ever lived in and now I didn't have a job.
I moved in with my brother into his apartment. Right away I started looking for work, but had no sucess. I immediately loved his church and found friends right away. Within months my brother was talking about doing travel nursing and moving to Tucson, AZ. Now I was under the gun. I had to find a job because he had accepted a travel assignment and if I couldn't find something I was going to have to move back to SC. I got hired at the hospital my brother was working at in a different position from what I had originally applied.
August I moved into my own apartment and started my job as a unit secretary for the ER. By the end of August my brother was in Tucson. Here I was 1000 miles away from family on my own in a city in my own apartment with a car I had just bought. The job was very stressful. My responcibilty was to put into the computer the tests the doctors had ordered for different patients and to call any doctors for consults. The issues is that on any given day there would be 5 ER doctors working at a time. Instead of writing on the clipboard the name of the doctor they wanted a consult with, the doctor would yell it out as he was walking down the hallway. So you had to know by voice who that doctor was and then try to find the doctor they wanted a consult with. The way that system was set up was horrible. I was trying my best, but 1/2 the time I was suppose to have help I didn't have help because the people training me at night had family issues and called out all the time. The charge nurses at night shift knew what a horrible situation I had and constantly told me I was doing a good job. But within the first 90 days the day shift nurses said I was too slow and I was let go. That was October 2002. December I interviewed for a customer service job and was hired. I started in Jan 2003.
I loved that job. I didn't make much money, but I had very little stress. I made some great friends. I had to really be strict on my budget in order to pay all of my bills. I remember that first year I had $25 a month extra after I had paid my bills. Super tight buget, but I was growing so much as a person. I was really happy and my spiritual walk was growing too.
I rose up some in the company and had more and more responcibility. I was praying because I felt that so many people stay somewhere because it is comfortable when God has other plans for them. I didn't want that to be me. So I prayed that if God had other plans for me for a job, apartment, or city to live in, that I would lose my peace. And eventually I lost my peace. I never expected to move out of KC. I loved it so much, but suddenly I hated my apartment, job, and couldn't find anything else. I began to feel like I needed to move back to SC. So May 2006 I moved back to SC. May 2009 I started having symptoms of fibromyalgia and was offically diagnosed in July 2009.
I grew so much in KC. Made some fantastic friends, and am really proud of the time I spent there. I can't imagine going through fibromyalgia on my own without any family for 1000 miles. Plus I got closer to my dad when I was in KC. Dad died in 2012, but the dad I knew changed in April 2010 when he had a heart attack and triple bypass. He was never the same after that. If I hadn't moved home I could have missed those precious few years with my dad while he was still himself.

I work in marketing in Fort Worth and was just put on furlough with my company today after only being with them for 7 months. Even though I had prayed about it and figured I would be okay financially during the time I wasn't at work or receiving a paycheck I was feeling really down towards the end of the night. God has always moved and set my life up in random ways but I definitely needed to be reminded about how he's never let me down. Thank you so much for being so open with this!

This video came at such a perfect time for me. I am a senior in college and I'm graduating in fall with a BA in psychology and I have been thinking of going into the corporate world...probably HR because that's what i think I'd like and be best at...but I'm from the bay area in CA which is a very expensive area to live...rent is impossible to make for people my age. my boyfriend and i have been together for about a year and have started thinking about moving in together but reality isn't on our side unfortunately.
But this is a hard time in my life because I want to go to grad school and I'm currently not sure what the heck to do in grad school. I'm thinking about moving and I feel really alone because I transferred 3 times during my undergrad years so I have distanced myself from a lot of friends.
This video just made me feel a lot better and reminded me that it's gonna be okay no matter what; I just have to be bold like you were. Very inspirational.

Love this! I knew pieces of these stories from other vlogs of yours, but it was fun to hear it all from start to finish in this "storytime" format! I totally relate to the feeling you had moving to Austin right after graduating...I moved to the Dominican Republic for my first teaching job after college, and it was so surreal. All of the sudden my life wasn't planned out year to year! I'm sure a lot of recent grads can relate!

I actually kinda of have a similar story of being in a long term relationship then ending it and meeting the guy of my dreams. My first long term relationship was pretty much all through High School, he graduated a year before me and ended up joining the army and getting stationed in Alaska(I live in Georgia). We stayed together through that time for about 6 months then I had a feeling rush over me one day that was similar to yours, I knew that I needed to end it, because I had just graduated from HS, I was in my first semester of college, and I didn’t need to be with him anymore(we had a pretty rocky relationship for the past year and a half so I pretty much knew it was coming). One day I called him, said I thought it was best if we went separate ways, he said okay, and that was that. Then fast forward not even a month later and I met my current boyfriend through a friend at a church, they both played/sang in the worship band, and then 3 days later we went on our first date, 7 days later we were officially together and the next 2 years are history! Austin has been the best thing to ever happen to me and he is truly the one I prayed for every night, and God truly answered those prayers for me. God is good! Anyway, long story but thought I’d share ❤️

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this! I needed to hear how a bad or difficult situation can turn out as a blessing in the end. That it could lead to something much better than one can image. I am currently out of work because of the Corona virus. It has me scared, upset, and even doubting my faith. But when you said God has a plan, I swear, I felt like a weight had been lifted. Although, I am still worried about the future, I will continue to pray and remind myself that GOD has a plan. And, if I can just get through this, something better will come out of this in the end.

Wow, what a story! I love listening to you. Aawww little baby Charley :)
Isn't it weird sometimes when you think of things like this and the 'what if's that come to mind? Ever since I'm a mom, I've had that question pop up in my head randomly but pretty often... and then I'm like: I wanted to be a mom for like...forever and now I am a mom to a beautiful daughter which was always my dream. There are still some bumps in the road that we need to get by but all in all... what a journey it has been and I wouldn't change a thing. (except I regret not traveling more when we were just the 2 of us. We've been together for almost 20 years and we went on vacation once... :p the rest has always been small Disneyland Paris trips but we only once got on a plane and went somewhere on holiday, just the 2 of us when we were about 1 or 2 years together. )
I'd love to know how you went on from that job at the Church to your current job and what happened in between that...did you have other jobs before you got your Etsy shop? How did you came up with the idea of your shop?
