You can see by Noel's reaction to Savile at the door that he is not thrilled in having him there. Noel knew perfectly well by 1996 when this aired what Savile had been up to. This clip is one which Noel wishes does not exist in the BBC archives, but it does.
@@jimsmith8360 He wasn't - no one wanted Savile on their show. Eric and Ernie banned him in the 70s from ever appearing on their show. When they moved to Thames they ensured that even when they were at ITV he would never be a guest. Same with The Two Ronnies, who used his style in a sketch of course, but both according to their producer refused to work with him. Notice how some shows simply refused to have him appear as a guest. Terry Wogan despised him, and tried to ensure he would never appear on Children in Need, sadly in the early years he couldn't stop it, but from mid 80s he did.

I’d say very much the opposite. He was well aware as was Garry Bushell so was over the moon that Saville could get his comeuppance
@@jimsmith8360 Did you read my comment? I said Noel was well aware of what Savile had been up to.
@@johnking5174 yea but the part of not thrilled I disagree with

@@johnking5174 correct nobody liked Saville myself included but the powers at be at the BBC would happily have him on anywhere
At least whoever was operating the gunged managed to get saville most!
