Vemuram pedals are expensive, but bloody hell, they sound good! I have the Shanks OD, now i have to have this! With this and the Shanks, i don't need any other drive pedal!
So for those interested, all the names of Vemuram pedals are relatives or friends of theirs. I spoke with them at Namm about it. I have a Jan Ran and wanted to know the story behind it. I thought Jan Ray might’ve been some wild “Jan Brady Ray Gun” thing, lol, but it’s actually named after a male relative of the owner.
@@elliotgreen987 Ha! Good point. Well, as you may or may not know, the Shanks is for John Shanks, so that checks out as a friend. As for the myriad, I think Josh Smith probably named that pedal.
I’m an electrical engineer. I think that last pedal’s design involving changing the clock frequency is very clever. In the context of signal processing, aliasing is basically a form of distortion. If the clock is lowered below 20kHz, there will be sounds from the source that will be higher in frequency than the sample rate, thus producing inaccuracies during playback. Cheers
OMG HOW GOOD SOUNDS THAT VEMURAM. HOW IT GROWLS!!. I own a Jan Ray and it's the best sounding overdrive i've hear, this ppl of Vemuram only make god tier pedals
I used to collect knives- and I bought a great many from Great Eastern Cutlery- then I got into fishing- and I used Great Eastern Fishing products, and now I play guitar and buy pedals from the Great Eastern FX company. I have a feeling when I die, they will stick me in a Great Eastern casket. The boost did sound amazing- but the problem is, the sound of a boost pedal is at least 50% dependent on what it's boosting. You guys are playing a high end, very expensive amp- it's not going to sound the same when it's boosting my little Blackstar club 40. Well- actually, my Blackstar tore up so it would be boosting into a Headrush MX5 modeler- which actually might sound pretty good. I've been really impressed with the amp sims on this unit- I didn't really expect them to react like a real amp when I hit them with a boost or something- but some of them react very realistically.
Pushed me over the edge. I'm buying both the Old Blood and Cloudburst and going ambient. It just sounds like so much fun. For those like me that just focus on gain, these pedals open up a whole new world.
The Budi is an older Boost, that Vemuram had. The G is for the Grit, that the gain adds to their original Budi Boost. Budi is just a first name, in Japan, I think. There is an artist named Budi. So, maybe the pedal designer? Dirty meaning: Booty Grit
Having owned a bunch of different amps and pedals, I decided to go with the right amp and stop buying little boxes in the hope they will make a bad amp sound good.
I think Rabea should try that last reverb pedal. I think he would love it. Also Pete’s playing is also incredible as always. Love the videos keep up the great work. Cheers from New Mexico USA.
Another fine assortment of very good sounding Pedals. I wish it was standard practice to include "Recallable Presets." The absence of that feature put a halt to my pedal purchases, and I started using Modelers. The absolutely brilliant BL-37 Reverb ..., needs a better name, and an Expression Pedal jack for external control of the Clock. How about a name like Liquid Reverb, or Elastic Clock, or Slippery Time, or Temporal Waterfall. You've got a winner in that Pedal. 👏
I like that "Fuzz for Beginners". LOL! That would be me....I like the ones that don't make you need to try to play something "different" than what you may have been planning on. 🤣 Both the Vemuram Boost & the Old Blood Noise Endeavours Reverb are amazing....with that Reverb pedal being a recording tool of wicked possibilities.
This video is that regular reminder that I dont like Fuzz lol. Nothings probably ever going to change that. The whole point of my tone searching mission in the distortion department is for it to sound tight and extremely pronounced. Edit: I will say the second one sounds kinda good. But only in the setting where it basically sounds like an overdrive.
Can't believe we haven't had a run-through of the BC Rich stuff you now stock. Very keen to know how good it is compared to the other metal brands, unless absence of a video means it just isn't that good?
I know this isn't about the Jan Ray, but try the Nux 6ixty 5ive and do a blindfold test w/ it. Bet you'll be shocked. I have everything from $15 clones to $500 ODs, and the Nux is probably my favorite right now (particularly when stacked after a Zio)
Is undeniable the pedal sounds amazing, but for guitarist pedal industry has became what perfume are to fashion. We pay 400 USD for a pedal where the enclosure makes 60% of the price 35% you have to pay the brand name and 5% for the components costs haha then if you want to sound as finest as Versace, pay for it haha
The biggest difference in the prices from the cheap to the expensive is in the labor. Chinese factories will produce products at big discounts that the small business in my neighborhood can't match. Nor should they try. Since I want my neighbors to be able to buy dinner, I don't mind paying them to put my pedals together. The fact that they're way better quality, too, is a huge bonus.
My favorite parts is when Pete plays a riff you know until the last note, and its comically off. Some years ago he played the first six notes of The Star Spangle Banner, and his confused look at the "see" in "O say can you see" I'll never forget it.
Internal dip switch equals deal breaker if I have to unscrew and disassemble and take apart a pedal to hit a switch that could be put on the top of the pedal I Don't WANT that pedal.

I think you got a broken Focus fuzz I was trying to focus in on the sound but I didn't hear any difference especially after you read the focus knob description maybe you need 2 Wackett with a fuzzy hammer
The Vemuram sounds great but charging upwards of £349 for a single pedal is a touch extortionate imho. Even if they are using top of the range components I still believe the production costs are a fraction of that price. Perhaps the shipping costs from the manufacturer are a factor. It did sound funkin great though so perhaps worth it for owning the concept / vibe. 🧐🤑
Pete your brilliant still got that look to cam when somethings Benny Hill humour , That's why Sicko Saville got away with it for so long cause People did exactly the same ," No no don't mention him , think of our bonuses " ... funny
I care enough about Andertons to be honest and that first fuzz pedal is horrific. The worst of overcompressed fuzz territory. Y’all did well to hide your lack of excitement. The second is immediately better by 10x at least.
There’s an American politician whose last name sounds a lot like “Budi G” 😂 I honestly don’t follow politics and don’t know much about him, but this pedal is badass!
I love the mocking of the chip talk. Yeah, pedals are cool but not so cool that we all want to hear about transistors and such model numbers. Keep up the entertainment.

That Vemuram Budi-G!!! Wow!!!!
