      I can see how High Alert is OP and needed a nerf, so instead of adding directional indication of such a niche attachments, his improvement of just detecting enemies scopes would make it more reliable.

    Seems a bit weak of a perk. I think it needs a bit of a buff. I understand that High Alert is very powerful in previous games, but the L/R Detector seems a bit too toned down to be useful. A slight rework or buff would make this competitive.

    Being able to know when my smoke is being countered by a thermal sight is probably the best application of this perk. it's not an all the time buff, but if you commonly run smoke grenades. it's probably good to know if you're in a smoke show or not.

    • @drjonesey5
      @drjonesey5 8 месяцев назад +1

      Trashiest thing I ever heard. I use smokes on a few set ups and never needed to care, even before the L/R thing was a thing. Been playing COD since Black ops 1. You use smoke to evade and counter ambush. Dropping smoke and moving....is this a pro? Sure, but is it necessary? Not really. You're already throwing smoke to evade, it doesn't matter if some guy in the back can see you through the smoke as you're already on the move anyway. Unless you're hard camping inside smoke or something and fearing thermal users or something this is pointless. Most players DO NOT use thermal optics. You can play 100 games and encounter like 3 thermal users. Possibly more people use them on very long range maps and modes like Hard point or Domination but then it's not really thermals you need to worry about, it's the sniper himself or on the objective being bombarded by like 20 nades. Plus we have an automatic capture equipment now so you can drop that and book it off the objective without needing smoke now.
      High alert in MW2 was fine, should have just stayed that way.

    This definitely does need a buff. The fact that it's not directional is fine as high alert was always kind of a bullshit perk, but the number of attachments that trigger it is too low. They should add every red-dot sight and scope to the list. It would make the equipment more useful, and would create a better reason to run a gun with iron sights for stealth builds which are a bit OP at the moment in comparison to the rest of the available gear.

    If you need a perk to alert you that an enemy is onto you, you need to get off the game and go play something that makes you feel safer. Expect an enemy everywhere you go, clear your corners/rooms before entering, pay attention to teammate location and environment/gunfight sounds and get better at the game. This franchise has been coddling weak players for far too long.

      Sort of, but not entirely. I'm surprised that nobody took his spot. Yes there are gun guides, but nothing like his from back in the day. He decided to expand and stop doing them and that was a Golden Ticket for a new RUclipsr to take that spot easily and nobody did. The way he did his breakdowns was mixing the real gun history with the gun guide and working methodically through the information with visuals that represented the timeline of the history and COD that the gun guide was for. Literally nobody does this and haven't since Xboxahoy and it always bugged me because RUclips is competitive, and if someone slips up (my opinion it was a slip up) and opens a door, walk through it. Someone can STILL snag that spot right now and they still haven't.
      It's literally a million subchannel waiting to happen, yet people complain about how hard it is to get into RUclips or make money online, and here's one sitting right here.

    On the one hand I like how it's more niche to counter or benefit certain styles of play (thermal users, good against snipers that like to use lasers, etc.) but no directional indicator makes this kind of useless. If they don't want a directional indicator they should at least have a RANGE indicator, change the intensity of the light and rate of sound warning based on distance.
    Might also be a good idea to have not only have it trigger through line-of-sight but ALSO close proximity. This could make for an interesting counter to dead silence or ghost users before they even aim at you if they are within, say, 10 meters of your location and have a laser, etc. equipped. Still pretty nice but much more useful. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if this close-range detection worked for any player regardless of loadout since it's such a short distance and still doesn't tell you direction. Would be a pretty fun perk to use for clearing buildings. Then, buff the heartbeat sensor's refresh rate significantly and nerf the battery life to keep it as a viable alternative with directional information and limited use.

    • @FavstaRGaming

      I personally think high alert in mw2 and any game before it were overpowered, I feel have thr ability to have that kind of information in a perk is broken and doesn't need to be in cod. It for me I think it hurts your ability to learn the game and your surroundings by just having a perk tell you where people are at it honestly I have the same problem with tracker. In mw2 most players would run both tracker and high alert and personally I think that takes no skill

    I'll never understand why cold-blooded and now this are 'counters' to thermal sights which have been historically underpowered throughout the series for being obtrusive, low-FoV sights with less clarity of picture, sometimes rendered unoperable by light sources, sometimes bugged, etc. The smoke+thermal combo is the only thing they've had going for them and even that is pointless in modern cod because they'll just see your gamertag and/or scope glint and outgun you with a red-dot AR.

    • @drjonesey5

    • @Saurygiel
      @Saurygiel 8 месяцев назад

      Cold-blooded was fair IMO, as it was more general purpose but required you to sacrifice something even less situational. It was a safety thing that didn't really target specific players as much as this does. However I don't have a problem with countering thermals, if anything I think thermals could deserve some love if they are so unviable. MW3 has a few new thermal sights that aren't as punishing to use but it's still rarely worth an attachment slot or at the cost of a less distracting optic. Maybe it could be interesting to see thermal as a toggleable "goggles" perk.

Dev's have a habit of doing dumb things like this in COD. Changing things that don't need changing. The perk system was dumb in MW2 2022 and it's better in MW3 but it's not the traditional perk system people want. They keep changing that for some reason. Then you have the prestige system, they keep changing it with no reason to do so. Traditionally people want the pick 10 style system where you use points to pick 10 things and that's it but you can mix and match whatever you want. And the prestige system people want it level 1-55, you unlock perks via level up and at 55 you can choose if you want to prestige or not. if not, stay how you are and keep everything you unlocked RATHER than lock us all out of prestige each season not allowing us to prestige and holding perks behind dumb mechanics like equipment or Challenges. If you DO want to prestige, start from level 1 on prestige to and do it again but you can CHOOSE yourself to do that or not and also you are not capped by season, it's up to how fast or slow you want to level up.

    Current LR detector is not weak in its triggering, the buff it needs is an direction indicator
    the triggering produce most effect when playing HC and you have no idea the person who killed you on the other end of the smoke has a thermal scope or not
    and this is way more helpful than high alert

    I really don't understand why they nerfed a perk no one complained about. Meanwhile, Ghost has been meta almost a decade now. They just need to revert High Alert back to MW2 style, where it was actually useful.

    The changes make sense for IRL, but with this being an arcade shooter thus was such a stupid change to make from MW2. It definitely needs a buff.

    High Alert was too strong in MW2 imo, it could completely shut down stealth and flanking plays in a game that already punishes those playstyles with a nerfed dead silence field upgrade, and loud asf footsteps.
    However I think this nerf goes too far in removing the usefulness of high alert, even as someone who doesn't use it. I think the main issue was that there was no way to tell who had high alert, or counter it.

    • @FavstaRGaming
      @FavstaRGaming  8 месяцев назад

      In MWII High Alert was countered by Cold Blooded. It seems that MWIII has nerfed High Alert but also didn't provide any counters.

  • @TearsOfHeroin

    I think it's fine to work on only laser and thermal, but the effect is too weak. I think
    -Remove range limit.
    -Highlight detected in red outline, the highlight effect last for 5 seconds after the source stop being detected.
    I think instead of "MW3 highalert", why not make it a powerful hard counter to lasers and thermals.

    The way high alert used to work seems as it was OP, but in reality the perk honestly didn’t come in handy in most situations. By the time someone looks at you you’re already dead in most cases. People have to see you first for the perk to work, meaning they already have the upper hand. In multiplayer it’s useless though.
