Thanks for posting this video. I've operated 955 & 977 loaders, and loved being able to make big changes in the landscape, shell of a house, barn or whatever. Someone who can make a D-11 work efficiently and effectively is very valuable in his field. Good luck in everything.
Thanks for uploading this video. I've only played with the smaller loaders (955 & 977) but appreciate how much fun this can be, when you're given a task and can figure out the best way to accomplish it. Knocking down buildings was the most fun, followed by traveling through wooded terrain, safe from all the ticks and chiggers waiting in those bushes. Rock on!
what a piece of kit , operated an old d5 manual a few years ago , it was a reliable old girl , got a chance of a few shifts on a d6 , cat just know how to make great machinery . a big dozer over here is a d9 , we don't see any bigger unless it's for a special job . i'd go back to this type of job in a min , ..
Respects to ALL our Australian brothers , The floods are horrible hope you recover soon. I am ashamed that we the Americans have done nothing to help out during the disaster. We send billions of aid to people all over the world (most of whom don't like us) now when our most reliable and most like us ally is in trouble we sit on our asses and do nothing. I apologize to all the people of Australia. You have stood beside us all the way, Thank you.
I think most of you miss the point .. here See this link to understand why you would track up a machine. CASE started it about 15 years ago ... big horse power low ground pressure. If you follow the link you will get the drift.
@nizzy0138 if you watch all the way through the digger is digging it out and making a pile then the dozer push's the pile that the digger made away, then the shovel comes along and takes it of to where ever. shourly it would just be easier to load it straight in to a dumper? yes/no? saves handling it 3 times a well.
@kpontrukn Wrong. Caterpillar products and components are manufactured in 51 plants in the United States and 59 plants in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, the People's Republic of China, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Sweden.
Great video capturing what must have been a government contract as there was too much equipment on the site. I noticed in the beginning the dozer was undermining what the grader had already leveled off. The operators on the equipment did not seem very efficient in their profession.
Small excavator for efficeny, to make haveing a D11 worth it for a job site like that you need a bigger excavator to make the piles faster for the dozer to push away, the D11's are short use unless there a mineing machine due to running costs.
haha reminds me of my last dirt works job. we got our D9 stuck so bad we had to dig it out with a couple excovaters. then we had to pull it out with the d6
me gusta estas maquinas amarillas, las 4 ruedas traseras de las motoniveladoras, no son solo para balancear el peso de la maquina, tambien sirven para empujar con suma fuerza la pala horizontal que esta en el medio del vehiculo de trabajo.
Looks like organized chaos. Loader going here, dozer crossing over pushing up what the excavator is tossing. And a baby 14 blade thrown in the mix with what looks like a LeTourneau loader and a shovel in the background. Honestly it looks like a Peabody New Mexico coal mine operation. Lol.
@MrFattyfatfatboy in 1985 your heavily subsidized mines caused lots to shut down and I was there, saw the numbers and heard it explained to those getting laid off.Canadian coal is the cleanest and best in the world, folks buy it just to blend withhigh ash thermal just to get a useable product. But you cant compete with any company thats being subsidized in a fair manner.
Hello every one ..my name is tareq when iwas child i playing loader games and i love caterpillar ..now iam 28 years old my dream is have caterpillar loader but its big dream and iam very poor gay but i have hope one day i will have caterpillar loader all respect to this company reality i proud and love caterpillar company and hope have any body can make my dream fact ..iam from palestine gaza ..i love all people..🌹🙂 best regards
Ok, so you probably could do that with a D8. But what would be the point in having a D8 there as well if you don't need another dozer? Do you fill the boot of your car up with stuff to the point that the suspension will only just take the weight and drive it at a steady 140mph? No. I'm guessing the reason there's a D11 there is because there's something else that needs doing where a D8 wouldn't be up to the task. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
When China wanted a price cut here they started buying yours and just stopped sending the ships. That was a long time ago, maybe 25 years when the north east coal projects were started,we had to give them a stake in the mines and a guaranteed price which was also a subsidy, that pretty well bankrupted the working coal mines in B.C. then.Had to get them back buying our coal somehow.
@MrFattyfatfatboy Australian coal mines have been heavily subsidized by their government for years, thats one reason they were recession free, they caused many layoffs in the Canadian coal mines when we couldnt compete with them as we are not subsidized by our govt. As for dozers, komatsu makes them just as big and sometimes nicer then Caterpillar.A D11 should be slot dozing IMO and downhill useing the weight of the machine and gravity to help it,not productive at all pushing uphill.
look up "mad guy bulldozes town" a guy armour plates one of these and crushes a town after welding himself inside ppl said he was a good guy tho and went out of his way not to kill ppl
Is that in a demonstration area at some sort of show? Or do they just waste a lot of diesel? Sure dont look like they are moving earth around efficiently.
@ihaveairlockers If i ever get to were i can do any traveling , Im deff heading to Australia, Ive meet 3 aussies in my life, They are some of the coolest, happy go lucky bunch of blokes i have ever met . (The coldys will be on me :)
Does anyone know what the costs are for air filter maintenance? Does not seem to be much in this video but I heard it can get pretty bad then clog the filters unexpectedly. Thanks

Love the grader at 0.28 My dad spent years driving one of these, cool video.
I’ve only operated d6’s and d7’s. I can’t imagine a D11! Absolute monster!
Mostly just run 10's and 11's the last twenty years. Given a choice I would go back to 6's 7's and 8's. My body would also thank me for it.

my kinda sandbox toys. this is what my first job will be. i have some small ranch machinary. the biggest i have operated is a d-8

Wonder what the building is thats been buried underground in the back
its good to see cat d11 in action there something special about them.

@omnivorousdave a d8 dozer is half the size so it moves like twice the material thats why you'd get it
@ihaveairlockers No, there is a huge CAT plant in Peoria, Il.
Great video capturing what must have been a government contract as there was too much equipment on the site. I noticed in the beginning the dozer was undermining what the grader had already leveled off. The operators on the equipment did not seem very efficient in their profession.
Love the roar of the D11Rs 3508B turbo diesel.
I would hate to grease that loader... that big machine, the biggest I've operated was a 992 cat loader. And dozer wize a D8 but I'm nice on both
Что именно делают на данном участке эти машины????
Толкают и копают??
Или есть всё таки план действийй?
Они ведут вскрышную добычу угля. Спасибо за вопрос!
that last shot sure puts things in perspective. Nice vid.

that 14m grader is the most amazing piece of equipment out there..nice

Quien no le gustaría trabajar con esa makina es un mostruo
my two year old loves it!
Que maravilla de máquinas...
¡Gracias por ver!
That is one awesome machine 😁👍

@CHRISPATCH69 extra labour. why use a digger & dump truck to move soil when 1 machine can do the same thing?
and for anyone who thinks this is diffucult, try ripping permafrost. alot like ripping concrete encased in stell
WONDERFUL
Like like

Thanks Doug. I'll keep them coming.
@xgi36 Thanks mate, nice words...even though we poke fun at each other sometimes there is a solid bond between the US and AUS.

It couldn’t lift a Turnip out the ground .

Love these...
A Cat is a Cat is a Cat. Super vid.
@Afamousperson come up to Alberta Canada. Tonnes of work and you dont need a liscence or tickets ect. to run equipment. Its awesome!
Cheers for the reply, that L2350 is a beast! Are you guys at the Burton Coal Mine? It at least looks like somewhere in Queensland
Is that a L950 pitbull back there???
Dear santa...
Do you notice how generaly clean the equipment is in this video?????
shouldn't he lift up the ripper?
Did you know town tire Don Brown when he ran pioneer coal mid 90's?

porque los tractores D.11 tienen ese ruido cuando va de reversa? como algo que va tomando jero con jero. ese es mi comentario
Interesting and informative. Thanks.
@The1234bubba Yes. That is a LeTourneau loader in the backgrond.
Nomas los Recuerdos quedan 😂🔧
I always liked firing up a Cat in the morning. The rumbling told everybody that it was time to go to work.
Me too! This mine is only a half a kilometer from my house and I can sometimes hear them starting up in the mornings.
I thought this was a vid of a dozer not a motor grader
look up "mad guy bulldozes town" a guy armour plates one of these and crushes a town after welding himself inside ppl said he was a good guy tho and went out of his way not to kill ppl
I Love those machines ! :;D

That's alot of horse power...Hey just wondering what truck where you driving?
Is that in a demonstration area at some sort of show?

What are they quarrying? Stone for road bed, or concrete? Dies the shank give additional stability? sdh in CT
@megasonify
Working machines at high speed isn´t always better, shaking the hell out of machine and operator. I can see nothing wrong with their work
i really want to sell couple of my old dozers and get one of D11s!!!
You'll probably need a bigger trailer too! lol
I've ran a D10 never an 11, now I get paid to operate a Komatsu 655 Blade, wish it were a Cat or a Deere. Hard to believe they pay me to play!
Does anyone know what the costs are for air filter maintenance? Does not seem to be much in this video but I heard it can get pretty bad then clog the filters unexpectedly. Thanks
