When Jimmie moves to the high E string some of his single note stuff reminds me of Son Seals like Call My Job where he slides to like fret 7 resolving more than a whole step down on the high E. Thanks for posting very helpful. It would be great if you addressed how to resolve statements that Jimmie plays. I love resolving on a triplet as it sounds conversational but some of his stuff is so cool and nuanced it's hard to truly figure it out.
I use all cheap - affordable guitars and amps. For this lesson it's a Mexican-made Tele ($350.00 - EBAY) and a Fender Frontman 25R amp = $100 at Guitar Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. Thanks! I am a high school teacher - don't have the money for the "real" Fenders or Gibsons. I love the Mexican-made Fenders and the Epiphones! They are great guitars!
The amp is surprisingly awesome. My brother had one of these and suggested I try it for small gigs. I fiddled around with it for a couple years and found I can get a huge variety of tones. It's got its' limits for live shows - small rooms only - but it is perfect for what I'm trying to do here - Fender Frontman 25R. And, I 've gotten lucky with my EBay guitar purchases - this one from an estate sale for around $300. I didn't like the color at first until I saw that Ike Turner had one like it - instant bid! Thanks!
Am I the only one who thinks Jimmie sounds like a complete beginner!? Like, SRV was a master - I mean this dude uses a damn capo so he can just play the same position that you learn in first month of playing? I mean, a capo is useful for bluegrass or simple little pop songs I guess. Maybe it's just me! But, thank you for video!
Nice tutorial. I realised that I never tried Jimmie’s style. And this CAPO is calling me ;-)
Thanks...
Thank you for sharing, more please.

Nope! No man! This is embarrassing! It is so wrong. Even the first chord is wrong. That E chord. The rest has nothing to do with his playing.
