I've never served, but I used to cook for a catering company that did 200+ plate weddings all the time. Nothing teaches you kitchen skills quite like cooking for a huge amount of hungry people like that lol. Just based on sheer repetition and volume anyone can pick up at least the basics. I think culinary school is for learning those fancy sauces and the chemistry of food. Cooking is one of those things you can truly learn on your own, just gotta go do it, and not get discouraged if you fuck a few things up along the way haha
The Rouladen look a bit small, but this is the most authentic I have ever seen outside of Germany/Austria/Switzerland. Also the Spätzle and the Rotkohl. I think I also saw apples in there, which would be authentic, but it wasn't said. So maybe I saw it wrong. I am very surprised. If it tastes like it looks I would say this is a gem!
I wish Guy would not interupt people; he has a habit of this. The butcher says, "What I use for the roast beef is the" Guy cuts in to say something incredibly important that can't wait, "ok"
He said he used the top round, and Guy said Ok as soon as he was done, probably because he knows exactly what he's about to say. Guy does sometimes interrupt stuff for his "personality moments", but thats a pretty poor example.
You always know when guy really loves the food if he goes for the 2nd 3rd 4th bite lol
I love that people enjoy our german food makes me happy 😊 😊
GO NAVY!! (Retired Army here lol). Great to see a GI doing well and loved how you said learned a little bit in school, a lot on the job.

You are dead wrong. The most delicious cuisines in the world are German, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian and French. Nothing else comes even close.

Thats far away from real german food!!!
Its in the 2nd half of the video and it looks pretty good. a bit more modern but still 100% a southern german dish.
