- In today's video, you'll see the timelapse of the painting process for our Hill Giant. This incredible paint job was done by Márcia (@marcia.painting).
Hill giants are the epitome of the big, stupid brute. They usually live with no real purpose, only caring about eating copious amounts of food. This way of life and their low mental fortitude predisposes them to join the Cult of Hunger, an organization that prizes their eating skills. As such, some of these giants can be found in the Gathering in the Festering Swamp.
DM tip: It's a good way to introduce giants to a low-level party (at your own risk haha).

I really love Marcia's work. I would like to see longer videos and less timelapses , also it will nice to see a list of all paints that were used on this model in the description, this way it will be easy for us beginners to buy and dream that one day will be good as Marcia :-) .

Hill giants looked closer to humans the most of any of the giants. At least in the D&D world. I'm so out of things now I'm blown away by models like this! I wish we had half the stuff available now way back when I started D&D it was owned by TSR and just pamphlet book, carboard cover with colored art. The first box was the basic set, the cover art was a dragon on a heap of gold and gems drawn, or probably painted, by Gary Gygax. That was 40 years ago...holy crap I'm old! I stumbled across the game in a drug store way on the outskirts of the town I grew up in, I lived way on the other side of town on the opposite outskirts. Taught myself how to play, WAY before it was cool to play! To show you how young I was , the word Chaotic?
I pronounced it like church,the ch sound lol. Never knew I was saying it wrong until I was grown! Lol never heard it spoken correctly until s older couple, they were 30, I was 20 my group of friends I'd finally made at 14 learned it from me, lol.i was so embarrassed. Besides my 3 buddies I'd never played with anyone else. His wife was the one who corrected me and I was like, wha? She, Cindy, was like yeah its chaotic.
Like 10 minutes after sitting down to show her and her husband how to write up a character, gave them a overview of the stats n such.
That first night they was hooked and really added a lot to our group. I think we all had a crush on Cindy lol but we was respectful, but...a real life flesh and blood chick who LOVED dungeons and dragons?! AND she was cute af, we were doomed from the start lol
D&D probably saved my life. Was a fat poor kid with a bad speech impediment with the last name Gross? Fought every day most times 3 and 4 different times. before d and d I'd just sit out in the woods reading a book when I wasn't in school. I hated school, some days I stood at the edge of the woods, short cut to school, and cry my eyes out not wanting to go because it was gonna be the names and laughs. I'd trudge in, least I had missed the morning fight because everyone was in class. But they made up for it at recess. And the teachers SAW it all. Or have to come get me from the bathroom washing a bloody nose or split lip. And I'd get punished for being late. But everyone else got breaks, I faught all the time ...I was learning and the pain didn't bother me so much anymore. Not as much as it did them
And the worm was turning, now I was giving bloody noses, even when they came in a group I'd get my back to the wall and tear m up when they got close. But ya know what, now the teachers wanted to get involved! Not the years it was me bleeding n hurt! So I'd get sent to the principal office and get spanked with a board. I didn't care I told the principal he could beat me every day. About 4 more trips to his office, bout a week probably I told him he wasn't wupp'n me no more! I'd had it, you them GOD wants me then they got me fighting! He came around his desk and I snatched up his name plate...principal Jordon, and cracked him hard as I could right in the forehead, knocked him out cold blood was everywhere, scalp bleeds bad. I thought I killed him. Went out to the reception and said I killed principal Jordan and went and sat in a chair and "zoned" out ...I think it was PTSD to be honest. I didn't kill just gave him a goose egg and cut.
I came back to my surroundings and a cop was shaking me by my arm, thaught I really did kill him.i was going to jail...Sims was his name. Ended up helping some. He didn't take me to prison...took me to a boxing gym. Said I liked to fight I could fight there. Took me a year to convince him I hated fighting. He hooked me up with sensei Anderson and I was put in martial arts for my "anger" issues. But it taught me to hold my anger till we got away from school. Lol finally I broke a kids arm and they learned to stay away for the most part.
If you asked me to sum up my childhood I'd say broken hands and rage so extreme I thought I'd explode. But I taught myself how to not talk like a retard, discovered I really didn't give a fuck about people, karate finally did help me go inside of me....now they were starting to worry because I could go weeks without hardly talking. Got so bad at one point master Anderson told me if I wasn't going to talk get out of his dojo..
So I left
He came and took me back and apologized, told me I was the most infuriating student he ever had, I told him I knew he asked if I was going to talk now and I said when I had something to say

It really is unfair how you show us what our models could have looked like, if only we were better painters. It's criminal, frankly.
Don't play anything involving models but I always wondered how annoying it would be with a normal black or gray model then someone wips out a master piece you'd pay for
