Same goes for Urza’s activated ability Glad they did that change. Getting a land in the lategame is unexciting enough, not getting to do anything with it was just free frustration
Urza can hit lands. The key word is "play" and not "cast". Play refers to playing lands and casting spells in this case. Edit: I see that Nizzahon understands this but keeping the comment for less experienced players.
It's so weird that Fallen Shinobi lets you play your opponents lands. Most of the similar effects say nonland but this one doesn't. Sure you can't play it if you already hit your land drop for the turn or of you get 2 lands but still
I had to go back and read it and you're right! Usually this sort of effects say "you may CAST those cards", so this looks like they intentionally wanted to buff the worst case scenario for the trigger, which is weird since the best case scenario is just so ridicolously busted.
Seph Imaru how so? The top card is irrelevant, Urza forces you to shuffle before you exile the top card to play. I suppose if you _Don’t_ want the top card activating Urza will let you avoid it but I think you where assuming that if you saw a 10 mana bomb on top you can insure you can cast it cheap. WotC took steps to avoid that particular kind of abuse.
Just finished doing my rankings for Cardsphere to help with their draft simulator and you and I have pretty similar lists for the top 10. I’m a bit lower on Urza and I put Winds a bit higher, but our top 10 match on probably 8 or 9 of the 10. Well done as always!
I think Serra is even more nuts than you give her credit for. If you play her in a board state where she isn't threatened, and plus her right away... the very next turn she basically wins the game for you.
I'm pretty new here. I found one of your videos... a week ago? Give or take a day. Based on the objective data, the subjective top 10s, and lists like this where you combine that into predictive data, I feel like this is a great place to make a home for Magic: The Gathering content going forward.
wow serra is awesome. She costs as much as a serra angel, and if you her mid ability right away you got a serra angel and a planeswalker for that prize. In draft that is extremely strong, since not many people draft expensive big flyers, and to stop a serrra angel without dying yourself you need something really beefy. Especially since her +2 ability can make the serra angel 5/5 until end of turn.
@@chaotica-game985 Yea I really hope angel decks can finally be 1.5 decks or even 1 decks. It would be awesome to have a topdeck that is actually beautifull and flavorfull and not just strong
Yes, people should pick cards to try to win games due to the attractiveness of the art. Jesus, dude, gamers get enough shit without other gamers feeding into the desperate stereotypes. It's just a print of a painting on a piece of cardboard!
Kinda. You still cannot play 2 lands in a turn (unless you have another effect which allows you to), so you can only play the first land you hit, no? And if you've already played a land before using the ability, you cannot even play that first land you hit. So you've essentially just paid 5 mana to exile a card.
Video is awesome as always and I agree with the list. Except of one thing. Don't You think that Yawgmoth should get his own place? I'm not an expert but he gives You as much value as Genesis. Or maeby it's just me.
Please fix the outro music. The volume keeps creeping up much higher than the rest of the video. This is an issue with about half or more of your videos.

@@NizzahonMagic all good, I understand how that wouldn't be as nice as hitting something that could change the board state. Love the videos brother! Your videos got me into drafting!
Yawgmoth is a fine Limited Bomb for 1 life and 1 less creature he lowers a creatures power and toughness and for 2 black and a discard you prolifirate? Yes please
Like in draft or in general? If it's in general you should be able to get it pretty cheap someone gave me one for free like 6 months ago and I used it at first in a commander deck but took it out after. I'm sure it will be great in limited, but in modern the cost seems too high
We don't know how impactful Horizons will be until after the set comes out. It's easy to see WAR's impact in hindsight, but would anyone have guessed that the card making arguably the most impact in eternal formats would be the uncommon Narset?
@@aidennoir597 Narset hosed me round one at the midnight prerelease, as I got lucky with a Kefnet promo and then another in a pack, so I built around a spells setup - every time she hit the field, it was over if I didn't already have out Kefnet to bash her back off... that was my moment of, "oh god, that is even better than I initially thought!" Everyone was nuts for Ashiok (and let's face it, Ashiok murders EDH decks), but Narset seemed to fly under the radar for most players until tournament results started to come in.
That's a standard set, these cards are for modern and are meant to be put into decks with cards from completely different sets that make them work really well
agree. it's totally not what it was built up to be. it's a cool set but much more for EDH rather than modern. remember all the speculation about all the OP legacy cards that could come into modern? What did we get? Flusterstorm and Unearth. Both pretty fringe. :(

I wouldnt compalin if this creature was something from a lower rarity or have another creature type, but for a thing that is ment to be "the incarnation of life itself" it could be better, I whould prefer to pay 4 or 5 mana for the creature to return from your graveyard to the battlefield
Really disagree with Serra being number 1. Much of the time she'll be just an angel token then get killed with removal or creatures (yeah the token can protect her but if they have more creatures than you can block it only takes a 1/1 getting thru to kill her. If you draft a deck of lots of cheap flyers then yes her +1 is great. That's only 1 ability that's really good tho and even then that's very situational and dependent on your deck. If you open her pack 3 and you don't have many flyers she'll be very underwhelming. Doesn't deserve to be number 1.
@@NizzahonMagic a Serra Angel is decent but not exactly cutting edge anymore is it? Compare it to limited bombs like God Eternal Oketra or Vraska Relic Seeker.
Yeah it totally seems like a blatant reference but from my understanding of how long they've been testing this set, it's probably a coincidence? Especially since it's blue instead of like, red
