You can do the initial pleating and hang your saree on the cupboard door and lock the cupboard and pleat the whole pallu part.. it will be more convenient.. I use this trick whenever I drape my saree ..

Nakshu instead of holding it on neck u can put slightly close the door and put it on the top of it until u correct the pleats properly
