How did your assignment go? I'm currently working on one myself.

Thanks a lot for these great explanations! With this video, I learned much more than during the Research Methods lecture at my Uni. Best regards.

very useful video - I wish my university taught as well as he does! And best of all it is all free on the internet: so, who said that you could not get education for free? Obviously you can and it is quality!

+Alice Ali Yes, I'm sorry about that. It's actually a result of using the built in microphone on the camera in a very echoey room. It is one of my very early recordings and I've learned a lot since then about how to record good quality sound. Maybe one day I'll get round to remaking the video.

Dear Prof, what aspects should a research reflect on when writing reflective field notes during data gathering and analysis?

Being reflective means thinking about the way in which you as a researcher and as a person might affect the data gathering and analysis. You are a person too, so you will have your own preconceptions, biases, omissions etc about what you think is happening and how you interpret it. You should reflect on these possibilities and suggest how their effects might be controlled, ameliorated, eliminated or accommodated. In addition, you should think about your interaction with your respondents. Has your presence in the field or has the kind of questions you have asked affected the kinds of responses and behaviours you have observed and recorded? Would your respondents have done those things or said the things they said if you hadn't been there or hadn't raised those issues in your questions? Again report on these issues and reflect on them by suggesting how significant they have been and how their impact might be dealt with.
