@@SoupyGal I find it really depends on the area - when I was pregnant, male doctors had a lot of empathy and were very supportive but most of the women I encountered were dismissive, patronising and cruel, at one point when the midwives shift changed (I was in labour for almost 3 days) the new midwife walked into the room, laughed at me and told me I'd have to work if I wanted to give birth. When she transfered me to the high risk ward as I'd been in labour so long, she said "I'm not giving you a wheelchair, you've go to work" (I hadn't asked for a wheelchair) and when I was walking down the corridor, a contraction brought me to my knees, I was on all fours, waiting for it to pass and she laughed and said "you think this is bad? You'll be biting through sofa cushions by the end" Honestly, I think about her cruelty most days.
@@casadashwood2245 - That's horrific. To be honest, I thought that maybe that midwife's first "work" comment was a poorly timed joke and was just her way of trying to lighten the mood. But with each additional comment, it became more and more clear that she has become totally desensitized to her responsibilities. Maybe that's just her odd sense of humor, but if so, she's in the wrong industry. I fear that people like her are much more prevalent than we know.

She just had a terrible doctor who didn't warn her of the risks. My doctor wouldn't do any larger than 295cc because my chest muscles were just to small. Im grateful that he gave me those limits.
Bastian Leo it’s a good thing, some women want to go bigger than their body allows them too. For example, you have the base width measurement (BWM), which basically means what’s the measurement of the base of your breast, if it’s 13 then you can’t fit an implant bigger than you BWM. Also how much your skin can stretch
@@TheHeartsGirl 🤦♂️okay I'm dumb, I read it as "What I DON'T like about the botched doctors" and thought they wanted the doctors to let clients get implants too big for their body.
@@meg2769 They make the same money regardless of fitting a small implant or a large one. A larger one is potentially more likely to go wrong. Even if they weren't on TV they have no reason to push larger implants. I think more often than not it's the women who try to get the largest possible, because it costs the same so they figure might as well go for the biggest one, especially if they're afraid a smaller one might not feel like enough afterwards potentially costing them a second surgery to upgrade.
Yeah they probably get this form that they sign and the patients don’t read all of it or something and so when something bad happens they agreed to it with the signature
I don't think that is what was being said. I think it was more of a crappy condolence speech, like, "hey, at least this won't affect your income." Still very insensitive and callous, of course.
personally I feel if you are a healthy individual surgery is unnecessary. Obviously though reconstructive surgery and helping patients who have medical conditions that prevent them from having full function (difficulty eating and breathing) is totally different.

Is it weird that I feel like you, a plastic surgeon, are much more body positive than most self-proclaimed body positive media? Because "everyone's anatomy is a little bit different," is one of the most encouraging things I've ever heard.
Isn't that something you learn in elementary school? We're all the same just a little bit different. Redundant. We all have 10 fingers and 10 toes and walk upright...my hair is curly, his is straight, her skin is freckled, he's tall, she's big, he's missing an arm, she's diabetic. For how many more decades and how many more times does this utterly redundant statement need to be said? There's lots of body positive, equal, loving, kind, compassionate stuff in the world, has been forever. If all you see is negativity and you seek acknowledgement through strangers and the media...that's all on you. Food for thought. 🧠 🍔
My mother in law was knocked over by a car, hit her head and lost conciousness for a while. For some time afterwards she was experiencing difficulty speaking, she found she was speaking very slowly and having difficulty finding and articulating words. After a couple of weeks she went to see her doctor and my father in law went with her. During the consultation when she slowly expressed she was finding it hard to talk, he said she'd be fine, it might take some time but it would pass and he then turned to my father in law and said "bet you're enjoying the quiet, it'll be a nice break for you". He responded to the difficulty she was experiencing in talking as a result of a head injury with a nudge nudge, wink wink, "bet you're thanking your lucky stars your wife can't talk because she was hit by a car you luck son of a duck" quip.
So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's accident. She definitely has TBI and it affected the area of her brain for expressive language. I hope she has been seeing a Speech Therapist for treatment to avoid any lasting negative effects. That doctor though...heartless, insensitive, tactless, and unprofessional.

Doctors make mistakes, like everyone else. The mark of a good doctor is to admit and try to correct mistakes, instead of denying and denouncing the patient.
Thank you for talking about the misogyny that women face when seeking medical care, and being so frank about it. It’s really great to see a male physician speak candidly and easily about women as autonomous individuals capable of making their own medical decisions.
Women are incapable of making their own decisions because they are emotional. If you look at general consumerism women are responsible for 93% of the market they have a compulsive need to constantly purchase products and services to fill their overwhelming insecurity. The western world should have taken better control of women because they themselves are unable to make logical and rational decisions.
@@jackystar5099 It is coded in the biological nature of women. Let me give you an example: When a women goes dress shopping she looks at the colour, quality, price, ect. However the fundamental decision that will make a woman buy the dress or not is when she tries it on the first time and it makes her feel a certain way. Products and services are geared towards women for this exact reason because as long as it makes an emotional connection to them they will buy it. When you go grocery shopping for toilet paper why do you think they put bears and white kittens on the package rather than cigars and AR-15s? They know that even if the man rejects it, if the women wants it to satisfy her desire the man will gladly purchase it. That's why women are so unhappy because men have failed to rearguard them and direct them in a fashion that ensures substantial love rather than sensual love. Women's emotional drive is their greatest quality (motherhood) but also their fatal flaw (materialism).
Many years ago when I trained as a podiatrist, we could use pigskin for scalpel practise, I believe parts of pig are used for heart valves (or they were) and somewhere in my distant past I remember being taught that pigs have many close characteristics with humans.
Sounds like doing a remodel of a bathroom or kitchen. On the surface all might look okay but once you start pulling things out you find what is hidden.
No joke. I pulled up carpet in my mother in law's house only to discover aluminum flashing and crumbling Wal-Mart book shelves in spots where the floor had fallen through. That was their chosen repair...before they laid the carpet? Insanity. 😆 haven't upended the kitchen or bathroom yet...sure there will be mold and rotten wood. 😝
I just wish more young women were confident or at least accepting of themselves. She is a beautiful young woman. I would think a responsible surgeon would talk her out of the risks of surgery when the reason she provided for wanting the surgery was, "Every other woman in the family has a large bust."
She also said she wanted to feel "normal." There could also be other reasons she didn't mention in the show. Yes, some women should feel and end up feeling great having small to no chest, but there are others that benefit immensely mentally speaking with even a small breast augmentation. You may see her as beautiful, but at the end of the day, she is the one she sees in the mirror and she should feel happy with her image, whether that's with breast implants or not.
Its not anyone's responsibility to talk you out of a stupid decision u made....be happy with the body god gave u...u make stupid decisions so deal with the consequences
Which is normal of course. 😊 Boobs are supposed to move and lay down or towards the armpits. I know it may just be a joke to say that but we are all teaching ourselves and others that we have unnatural bodies.
@@Nah-ah true we mostly have a pretty unhealthy body image...it was meant as a joke but I know where you’re coming from...tbh I prefer my boobs to lay down when I lay down instead of having some large balls on top of my chest I feel like that would seem unnatural 😹😹
I’m scared mine do that now and I’m never in my bra and have 36 D breast and I’m like this is at 23 what about at 50 will they be on the bed next to me 😣
I was born an A cup and I used to want to get breast implants. Thank God I met my fiance who actually prefers tiny breasts. And I know he does because when I got pregnant he complained that my boobs were getting bigger. 😂 I'm no longer insecure about my boob size, thankfully, and hope every woman reading this overcomes any insecurity they have because we are all beautiful the way we are born
True, girl! People forget that there is a fetish for literally anything. Doesn't matter what size or shape your boobies are, there will always be enough men who'll love them the way they are! And if a man dumps you because he's not into your boobs, you don't need him anyway. (and for the sake of equality, of course the same goes for guys and dong sizes 👍)
Damn I didn't know that your sternum width could have that affect. I've always been insecure about how far apart my breasts were, so thank you for intentionally making me feel better!
In my first pregnancy and with symptoms of abortion, I was shaking during the exam and the OB-GYN told me: why so nervous you are not a virgin... Obviously I change doctors.
I agree! The only operation that i've done is getting my wisdom tooth pulled out and that was hurt like a bitch.. Even if my face/body is not as aesthetically pleasing like society standards, i learn to accept myself and loving it as it is ❤️
I'm not for or against plastic surgery, but why is it okay to get tattoos, piercings and dying your hair, but when it comes to change a body part everyone is against it? Ofc I know it's good to love your body, but this is a question I have wondered about for a long time... It's not good when it gets unhealthy and all this beauty standards who force you to do it, but if it makes you happy why not? Leave that person alone bc the most important thing is ofc to love yourself so if it makes them happy don't interfere/involve and make them hate themselves again 😊
I love how respectful and professional you are to the patient and the doctors on the show. It's so nice to hear how you do it and how others do it without being critical!
When my best friends mom went in to get her breasts enlarged to a C, the surgeon gave her DD’s while she was under anesthesia. Years later she still struggles with intense back pain.
A similar thing happened with my mom. She went in to get Cs iirc, but came back with DDs. She did get them fixed a couple years later, but her doctor was totally sketchy the first time. He was late to show up and had red eyes...Not a promising sight. Luckily, she’s all good now
5 minutes into my first ever video of Dr. Anthony Youn as well as finding out that he exists in the world and I would already trust this man with my life.
I've had a misogynistic doctor. I presented with extreme thirst, tiredness, dizziness, numb feet, patches on the skin, vomiting, confusion, blacking out. Basically all the hallmarks of severe diabetes. He was an older doctor, and literally used the phrase "don't be a hysterical woman." That there was nothing wrong with me, that I should just go home. Said it was all in my head. Now, I will never take crap from anyone, and he discovered this on that day. Cue his very shocked face when I verbally dressed him down, and demanded his reason for daring to dismiss my illness, and in those terms. He asked me to be quiet and said I was "being difficult". I told him "get fu**ed. You're done as a doctor, you patronising ass**le." Forced an apology from him when he started to get scared, took that apology and told him to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I went straight to reception, and put in a formal written complaint immediately. He was a senior partner, but once I had made it clear what happened to me, others stepped forwards. There were many women with illnesses who had been dismissed by him and consequently gotten a lot worse. The men, he listened to respectfully. He was dismissed from the practice. I was correct to be worried, because the symptoms I was experiencing would have resulted in a trip to A&E if not treated. This was corroborated by a blood test, which revealed insanely high blood sugars. My diet was fine, and I was 32. It was one of those things that is hereditary, I had just stopped producing insulin, like my parents had, also my grandparents on both sides. In the end, I got a formal written apology. Turns out no-one on the staff really liked him, he thought it was OK to basically ignore the opinions and input of female staff. No one before me had had the balls to complain, apparently they were taken in by his attitude. "He's a doctor and I'm not, he must be right, it'll go away." Was basically what his patients thought. Well, they were wrong. He had gotten too comfortable in his ways, as the senior partner thought he was untouchable, the idiot. I now see other doctors, some male, some female, at the same practice, and have never had another problem since. All ages, really. I think that doctor had ended up partner at the practice just because he had been there longer. Anyway, point of this is: if you medical professional is dismissive, and uses clearly inappropriate language towards you, say something. Just don't overdo it and see insult where it isnt given. Mine was a pretty clear cut case, however. If I had just gone away home, as he had told me to, I would have collapsed, so I was told. Now I'm on injections, and doing well.
@DDAA I don't believe anyone who says anything along the lines of what you said is doing it for anything more than attention... No one's _that_ ignorant, right?
This is not related to breast implants but breasts. Me and my husband have always thought open breastfeeding is totally natural and I mentioned it off hand to my mom and she said "I shouldn't do that in public out of respect for my husband" we were both a little shocked. And I was just like , it's not a sexual thing, I'm feeding my child and if my husband gets insecure with that then there's a bigger problem.
Theyre your breasts, not your husbands! Noone cares in the u.k. if someone breast feeds in public. Thats the main reason we have them. So glad your husband is open to natural feeding.
Is this a generation thing? A lot of women in the 70s bottle fed as that was the culture (also made a lot more money for formula manufacturers). I literally wouldn't stress about it. She's allowed her opinion but you're also allowed to ignore it and do what's right for you and your husband.
She probably means that pervs will peek at you breastfeeding and it will put your husband in a tough situation where he will have to confront them or be intimidated by them.
Throughout this video and his other react to Botched, I was hugging my body and telling it "You are perfect the way you are--ain't nothin' gonna happen to you." I think I'll stay plastic-free, but thank you for this video--it has brought awareness to those who want surgery.
This made me think of my last implant surgery. When I went back to my PS with the complaint that they looked weird. The PS said " I thought all you women wanted is to hold your sweater out anyways ". Which is why I don't go to male doctors
There are some horrible women in healthcare as well, but I definitely feel more comfortable around women healthcare workers.
The other thing I like about the ‘Botched’ doctors is that they try to tell women NOT to go too big with their breast implants.
Ann Williams I mean, they are on tv
Bigger means more likely to have complications, they know this and are being smart and wanting a happy patient rather than making some money

Incoming argument x)
Uh oh🙈
@@josesoares1245 ok why do you think that is?

Yes, some women should feel and end up feeling great having small to no chest, but there are others that benefit immensely mentally speaking with even a small breast augmentation.
I kept touching my sternum the whole time watching this, thinking about my chest muscles ripping off

The context of
“It’s your body you can do what you want with it”
Can sometimes be destructive
It's almost like freedom means it can be used in ways that hurt you.
What's the alternative, then? Of course when choice exists it's possible to choose incorrectly, but that doesn't mean eliminate choice.
RaginPlayer I mean not really, there’s nothing wrong with breast implants themself it’s 100% the fault of her doctor not listening to her
The fault is in the doctor. She isn't in the wrong for wanting a change
@DDAA I don't believe anyone who says anything along the lines of what you said is doing it for anything more than attention... No one's _that_ ignorant, right?
I'm sorry, I couldn't NOT laugh when you were displaying visuals for symmastia with the 'hi'
Same😂
Same 😂
Agreed magic man
Same here
Yeah, some of those emojis were rough! ;'D I kept reminding myself he's a doctor, not a filmmaker!
This channel makes me so thankful and appreciative for my body.
Dr. Youn respecting women 😌✨
The reason women have breast is to feed there kids I hate how no matter what a women does it’s always seen as sexual
I was crushed at his "no care attitude " Since then one of my implants ruptured, so I had explant surgery October 2020.
