The 812 GTS is already regarded as a future classic amongst Ferrari fans - it’s the one to have, it’s much rarer than the Superfast, and it’s properly beautiful. And this week, thanks to friend of the channel, Mark, I get to drive it in anger for #DriveEveryFerrari.
This is a 2022 atelier car with historic Rosso Scuderia paintwork, a bespoke black roof, painted shields and ALL THE OPTIONS.
So, this week I am going to look forensically at this sumptuous current range Ferrari - its design, engine, aerodynamics, that retractable roof, the technology, quirky features, and of course I am going to take it for a drive, and let you have my impressions.
Is this the ultimate modern Ferrari? Would I have one over an 812 Superfast? Does the open roof really make THAT much difference? And just what is it like to give an 800bhp Ferrari the Beans? All these questions and more will be answered in this episode.
    Thank you for watching

I've owned my 812 GTS for just over a year and already have over 9,000 miles on it! Mine is colored Verde Masoni which is a gold micro-flake base coat and greenish clear coat. It took me maybe 5,000 miles to get used to the power in first and second gear! The sound is amazing, especially with the rear window down if the top happens to be up.

I took delivery of my 812 GTS 2 months ago. 1,500 glorious miles later, I can conclude it’s the best supercar I’ve ever driven. I drive exclusively in Race or CT OFF mode. The looks, the sound, the usability are all top notch. Unless the successor is something truly spectacular, this one is a permanent addition to my garage.

I have owned mine (Azzuro Dino) for a little over 6 months. Great car indeed. Mine has carbon buckets which I love. RWS and DRS make a big difference vs the F12. High speed stability and maneuverability are great for the size. She is a big wide girl. Weight is nicely masked by the suspension and steering tuning. Brakes are good but feel very inferior to the CCMRs on my STO. Ferrari would not sell me a Competizione, so IMHO the 812GTS is the best sub $1MM Ferrari on can buy.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 5 месяцев назад

Can't understand your point on the brakes. One thing I will say, the GTS brakes needs a proper bedding which they did not get from the factory.
But compared to the STO? I have tracked the STO a few times, and driven them about 5000 km on the road. Hard to modulate, and so easily overheated on track. Ferrari brakes are not perfect, but I fail to see that they are worse than the STO brakes. I find the STO brakes to be a bit wooden and quite numb.

Trouble is. We live in a mainly B road country. So is a heavy wide 800ps car much use? On our motorways you could lose your licence in 2nd gear.
I'm only saying these things to convince myself it's not so bad after all that I can't afford to buy one 😅

🤔 Yes, but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good story !. When where these super cars ever built to be practical transport ?..

Guys what tires have you used on Porsche 930? I have hard time selecting right 245/45/16 tires. The Pirellis P-Zero have bad rep as the Yokohama A008P.

Love the video (as always), but the nit picking obsessive in me couldn't help bit notice the weird mismatch of typefaces in the acceleration stats at 5:34 #whatisupwiththatcurly2

Anyone else finding the sound kinda underwhelming? The last gen f12 and ff had a really high pitch wail which gave you a real sense of excitement and urgency. This new v12 just sounds grumpier and lazier tbh.

It’s the result of GPF filters which Ferrari are required to fit. They muffle the exhaust. They can be replaced with after market exhaust and you get that scream back…

Sorry but no. With the roof down, those buttresses just look wrong. With the roof up it's pretty, the lines flow really well. But with it down, it looks like someone has set about the car with a chainsaw. So you might as well stick with the superfast.

Is it wrong to say that this car has too much red on it? 😆 Somehow these look better in any other colour but Ferrari red imo.

    • @AB-80X

The non-metallic reds makes these front engined V12's look big and bloated, as they take away the shapes.
