Big Lagoon Campground is a "first in, best dressed" campground that you have no promise of getting a site. Problem is, you have to take your caravan down 16kms of dirt, sand, and mud to get there. Lucky enough we snagged a site, and we were so glad we did!
This is one of our favourite campgrounds ever!
In this weeks episode we head out from Shark Bay towards Big lagoon campground in Francois Peron National park (or Franky P as we call it). To get there we had to go along some sandy tracks that we didn’t know how the caravan would go, turns out…no dramas at all.
Once we were there we were greeted by stunning turquoise colour water, incredible red cliffs and an abundance of marine life. We also headed out to Cape Peron to try and capture the red sand dunes meeting the white sand and turquoise ocean.
As for the fishing, let's just say it ended up being a chaotic but entertaining time.

Regarding your gas burner, you've mentioned it doesn't burn on low. There's a trick to these, you need to pull the knobs off and unscrew the bar the knobs were on.
Then clean off the grease/grime and spray some silicone spray on them.
Screw the bars back in and press the knobs on and you'll have infinite adjustment down super low.
There is a video on RUclips showing this as well. They're a great stove then.

Another Great Video. It's not always blue sky and sunshine. Still amazing colours and scenery. Thanks for showing the road conditions out there. The hot tub would like an oasis out there. At least you court some squid while fishing. Safe Travels.
The hot tub really was a nice little oasis, would be amazing to sit in during the night with a clear sky. We'll just have to go back another time to do that haha.

Big lagoon campground just outside shark bay. We stayed on site 12 because it was up the hill a little bit and you got a view.
Sites 1 - 7 are down on the water and have better access, but no view.
Hope you guys get there, it’s a fantastic place.

@Explore_oz hopefully, in about 6 months, we will be able to hit the road, but for now, we will have to do weekend travel in our backyard of SA until we can both pack the jobs in and take off can't wait 😀
