    Mam - I tried this recipe, but the kozhukattai became very hard, is it due to steaming for a long time. Please let me know, so that next time i need to get it right. I have tried all your other recipes and it has come out well

      Hi Shalini , steaming the kolukattai for a long time will make the kolukattai soft and not hard . I think the rice flour you have used is not roasted one , it may be the reason for the kolukattai to become hard .

    i like this version. It has to be steamed like you did. then it will be spongy and fluffy. Sure to make myself. Thank you for sharing. Coconut milk makes it taste so good.

      Jaggery contains small amount of salt it . Once you add it to the milk , switch off the flame within 2-3 mins. Its better you use jaggery syrup as it will get easily mixed in the milk and you can switch off the flame immediately .

      The Jaggery I used is Organic jaggery .The normal Jaggery contains little amount of salt . I think the amount of salt is little bit more in your jaggery . So after adding the vellam pagu boil the milk for just 2 sec and not more than that . Thank you

      Add little warm water and mix the kozhukattai . Add the jaggery at last and just boil it for about 3-4 secs,not more than that , as the milk will curdle , due to the presence of salt in the jaggery.

      +Rama Vasu I think the jaggery that you have used contains salt. Just boil it for 2 mins not more than that.
      Jaggery contains small amount of salt , so when you boil it with milk it it curdles.So add the jaggery atlast and switch of the flame.

    hi I did this today.. the consistency came out very well... But the sweetness in the milk did not get soaked in the modak's.... The modak's taste is separate and the milk taste is separate... can we include sautéed cashew and kismis in this....

      It us just a suggestion :when the modak is half cooked u can add it in the milk but do not stir. Let it cook. Because the modak is already cooked fully it us not absorbing the milk.

      After adding jaggery donot boil the milk. The jaggery I have used is Organic one.
      If you boil the milk , after adding jaggery the milk will curdle.....
