Heard it this morning on RTE Gold and it brought me back. Great interpretation on a classic song. Hazels voice is pure gold. I’m a photographer and would see her sister a lot at the citywest wedding fair modeling. A lovely person too. ❤
Still absolutely love this song. I heard it on the radio whilst on holiday in Kinsale aged 15 and hunted for the CD single in Cork, which I still have. ❤
@Jon Love I think it made the lower reaches of the chart (low 30s I think). My Ghanaian friend liked it so much he had it as his ringtone back in the day.
The band were Graham Cruz, Done Ade and Hazel Kaneswaran. Kaneswaran was chosen for Girls Aloud but was 10 days over the limit. Born to a Singaporean-Indian father and Irish red-headed and freckled mother, Hazel was brought up in the working class area of Blanchardstown in Dublin, Ireland. As another Asian girl was rejected at this stage, Girls Aloud ended up as an all-white group. Make of that what you will, with recent unsavoury news articles in mind.
Love this interpretation of the song, had the cd single when it was released, but I never saw the video until now. Thanks so much for posting it,great version..
they came to my home town in Peterborough about 12 years ago and they didn't know where they had to go for a local radio interview so me and my friend Steve walked them to where they needed to go. I bet they wouldn't remember that!
Thanks 4 your comment. I have it on CD - the same CD this video was taken from. It was another great track... Can we upload audio tracks on here (without having to do a montage)?
i hate the way people compare it to crowded house and slag this song off its not a cover great band saw them in marley park love this song blow your mind cracking song a night to remember was great pity there not around.big fan.
@MrDaveLoCo Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment, Dave. Neil Finn loves this version and he has immense taste (and talent)! Some people on here need to be educated!
@JohnKillrory Er... except Neil really loves this version!! If you don'yt like rap, fair enough. But Crowded House recognise good music from wherever it comes from.
The videography here is good, I love the mix of lighting techniques, however I would change a few things, most noticeably for me is the long uninterrupted scenes of Hazel, in todays pop videos you're doing well to see perhaps 2 to 3 seconds of the artist uninterrupted, the editor picks only the very best and most flattering scenes/snippets and leaves the rest out.
This is like a remix cover, and it's really interesting! I like how they kept the same concept with the inspiring lyrics and made it their own style. I also love the woman's accent when she sings, so beautiful :) This is the only hip hop/rap I like because it actually serves a purpose and isn't just noise. I'll definitely have to share this with friends and family now. Thanks for posting! :D
Are they still performing? curious to know if they would remember me and my friend Steve walking them to the local radio station in Peterborough,England for an interview because they didn't know their way. It was about 12 years ago! I really would be interested to know if they're still performing and if they remember that :)
I have tried for WEEKS to find this rendition of DDIO by Dove, but I can't find it. I can't even find Dove on iTunes period. Are they really not on iTunes, or am I just not looking in the right places on the iTunes store???
I put blow your mind up. Would love to have met the band - wonder what thy are doing now (apart from Hazel - with the Lyrics game and all that!). You're lucky.
"american black music" não está entre minhas preferências, mas a batida dessa versão desse clássico dos 80's me agradou deveras. Surpreendi-me inclusive classificando-a no código "+10X"!
Er - but Tim Finn loves it. It's an unusual take on the basic melody and a lot better than rap songs (who tend to take a single riff) in your correspondent's humble opinion. And all music is self-indulgent - after all, if you can't indulge yourself... And listen to Blow Your Mind (Dub Version) for original Dove.
@paddle9 My boy friend loves it.I Myself Prefer the Girl Singing The chorus. She does a great job. Then again The boy friend looks kinda like the fellow on it.
@xrayeyesb4u I wonder if you would say that to Sean Kingston. Or Puff. Or Eminem n Lil' Wayne. That's what creative people do, kiddo. Took something old and create something different with it. I doubt Ben E. King is rolling in his grave, and I didn't hear Sting and Haddaway complaining either.
It's not a cover. Like most hip-hop/rap style songs, it takes a great song and does something different with it. Heard Paul Young's cover? It isn't good... ;-)

@@robsheehan Thanks for your comment! Do check out the 2 versions of "Blow Your Mind" I've uploaded.
A instant classic
Yes I think it is! Thank you for your comment.

Thanks for your comments! I moved to the UK when the band came out, so proud and great songs, deserved big success!
@Jon Love I think it made the lower reaches of the chart (low 30s I think). My Ghanaian friend liked it so much he had it as his ringtone back in the day.

Wow - I work with Don today in Dublin, so this is great to see him in his hay day. Great guy, such an interesting past life!
This group has talent with this classic song from Crowded House. Great job. Thx
This has always been my fav version & I love the vid. takes me back :)
For ever 90 ❤ uno de los ultimos hits de 1999. 🇺🇸 😎

I would have been a teen in Dublin when this came out. Graham Cruz was around town and he was always a sweet person. I miss that Dublin.

they came to my home town in Peterborough about 12 years ago and they didn't know where they had to go for a local radio interview so me and my friend Steve walked them to where they needed to go. I bet they wouldn't remember that!
Great comment!! I appreciate it! I was living in Cambridge when it was a hit - they played it on the radio a lot in Cambridge!
Uno de los mejores hit de los 90 version pop mix 🌍 for ever 90 🔥
Thanks 4 your comment. I have it on CD - the same CD this video was taken from. It was another great track... Can we upload audio tracks on here (without having to do a montage)?
Have it on video from '99 - great version :) - thanks for the post Paddie :)
i hate the way people compare it to crowded house and slag this song off its not a cover great band saw them in marley park love this song blow your mind cracking song a night to remember was great pity there not around.big fan.
@MrDaveLoCo Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment, Dave. Neil Finn loves this version and he has immense taste (and talent)! Some people on here need to be educated!
Yes, you can buy it on Amazon UK. Just search on "Don't Dream" in Music and look at any entries by Dove. New and Used
❤ great song 🎵
christ - still loving in 2023 :) also another amazing version of this beautiful song is Miley and Ariana
I loved this song!
❤❤❤
Exactly right! Thanks for your comment!!
encontrei!!! tinha esta musica gravada em cd e perdi!!! Saudades deste som....GOOD, very good...
@AFVfan1 I guess they may be in the Irish iTunes store but not elsewhere...
@JohnKillrory Er... except Neil really loves this version!! If you don'yt like rap, fair enough. But Crowded House recognise good music from wherever it comes from.
Agreed - thanks for the comment!
Indeed! Black and Proud!
Yeah, I have it on interactive CD with the video above. Plus Blow Your Mind (on my channel - worth listening to esp. the Dubh version).
@8835855 That's why it's not a cover like Paul Young's version. This is a new interpretation. And Crowded House love it (as do I!)
Thanks for enjoying it!
What a song
@rrriketube Thanks!! I think so too. Have you seen their other songs I have uploaded?
1st thought: No way they can pull this off
2nd thought: all right not bad
3rd thought: digging this
@neil30blue it's her accent lol listen to "the cranberries" and "Celtic Woman" and youll hear it there too :)
Thanks for your comments and thanks for enjoying!
Thank you! Think it should have been a bigger hit, especially with the high quality video.
@GuitarRockinChick18 Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Take a look at their other song, Blow Your Mind (2 versions).
Thanks for your comment, very useful contribution!
@GuitarRockinChick18 Very good! Thanks!
Well, I gotta admit that I love the original more, but this is impressive. =] I like it.
This is like a remix cover, and it's really interesting!
I like how they kept the same concept with the inspiring lyrics and made it their own style. I also love the woman's accent when she sings, so beautiful :)

Thanks for your comment!
She has an amazing voice
Good comment! Neil Finn loves this version!
Wow - didn't know that - great trivia!
I have tried for WEEKS to find this rendition of DDIO by Dove, but I can't find it. I can't even find Dove on iTunes period. Are they really not on iTunes, or am I just not looking in the right places on the iTunes store???
@bicrastAK Do you have a link?
Very good Cover !!!!
Irish n i love them
I put blow your mind up. Would love to have met the band - wonder what thy are doing now (apart from Hazel - with the Lyrics game and all that!). You're lucky.
The video was in stereo but RUclips monofied it. This doesn't happen with other web sites...
"american black music" não está entre minhas preferências, mas a batida dessa versão desse clássico dos 80's me agradou deveras. Surpreendi-me inclusive classificando-a no código "+10X"!
I don't know, they had a few singles such as Blow Your Mind. iTunes has loaded some obscure Irish music, such as Auto da Fe, but not this. Shame!
Check out the other song I have of theirs called "Blow your mind - Dubh version")
@GulfHeaven You obviously never heard Paul Young's version...
You're welcome Kieran. Do check out the two Blow Your Mind videos I uploaded too. They are really good original tracks from Dove.
are they still performing?
@allentown121212 Great comment - thanks!!
💚☘️🔥💚
VERY GOOD :D
Great cover, Donaldo is the best musician ever!!!!
I've put Blow Your Mind up - both versions!! I love it!

@paddle9 My boy friend loves it.I Myself Prefer the Girl Singing The chorus. She does a great job. Then again The boy friend looks kinda like the fellow on it.
I enjoyed the video 'paddle boy'. I'm sure you also fantisied about the bare chested 'blud'
Nice. A very modernized tech beat with a bit of attitude mixed with it. Far different from the original version. :)
check Hazel's little bro's band out "Wanted" similar to JLS great music though
@bicrastAK yeah! sivas sister :')
Good rendition. ;)
I have the CD single - not the video.
She’s the sister to the Asian lad from the wanted
@SmokeBojangles yes it is a very happy song.... congratulations on your assumptions.
hmm very different but i like the way they sing the chorus. its ok
love this version, shame i cant download it from itunes :(
its not a cover mate it was never a cover so chill
I'm sorry about your your! Tim Finn loves it!
No more than you did about the gingga girl!!!

Anyone have blow your mind??
excruciating
@SmokeBojangles Thanks for telling us your sexual preference. Now, what do you think about the song (and what does your boyfriend think?)
Hi! I now have the Standard and Dubh Mix version of Blow Your Mind on RUclips at /watch?v=baWp2WlJWKA
It's not a cover. Like most hip-hop/rap style songs, it takes a great song and does something different with it. Heard Paul Young's cover? It isn't good... ;-)
And France gave us "Telephone" - c'est magnifique, non?
black irish??
@RUSH731000 lol evil negativity but hilarious reaction man, give em E for effort and creativity.nice try.coulda been worse.maybe.
Oh God, why?
I don't know- but I have another song on here (Blow Your Mind) in two versions.
