@@TrampflickI think it's just Queen and the Crone for the final army, for the middle Army I think its both paid High Elf DLCs and for the first army none.
It’s hard to go wrong when building the high elf armies. Decent comps for new players, maybe switch out lions for heavy cav tho. Doom stacking phoenixes is always fun too.
Especially, when you play on a lower difficulty and building a min-maxed army is less important. On legendary, the Swordmasters and Phoenix Guard are too expensive and hit too hard by the penalties, but playing on a lower difficulty and fielding a bunch of those is just too much fun. I love this super elite melee infantry units slicing through the enemy lines, while my dragons eat up the rest. That's the kind of stuff I play TW WH for.
4:00 I would go with Silverhelms or even Titanrocks over lions because they don't die in three seconds if you forget about them, either that or Mournfangs if you have them.
Excellent list but I only noticed 1 mistake -> you are lacking 1 hero for end game and with the TW Warhammer formula, heroes are everything. You absolutely need a mage, noble, AND melee specialist (usually your Lord) per army. Apart from giving you insane buffs for your army which could be the difference between a decisive or pyrrhic victory, you are also going to get a ton of bonuses outside of battle -> replenishment, trade, influence, mount, and more which compounds exceptionally well in the late game. Heroes are also the 3 strongest units in your entire army. Also I would drop the eagle claw. They are a solid unit but I'd rather just save the building slot on something economy related and rock an extra 4 sisters of Avalon instead.
If you manage to find a Resistant Handmaiden, you can make a Sisters of Avelorn doomstack. They become better melee than _Lothern Sea Guard_ if you spec into it. You can manage a stack of 16 Sisters and just a Noble, a Handmaiden, a Lord and Wizard (Net of Amyntok & brawling buff) If you want to add variety, a pair of Dragon Princes to countercharge cav or a few Treemen to stall enemies works fine. But the above stack _will_ mince anything short of enemy doomstacks, for which you can bring any kind of reinforcing or garrison army.
Love High Elves! One of my fave factions, so strong at everything! Great Vid dude, late game yeah they are SO powerful! That was a badass looking army. MY fave units are probably Silverin and Phoenix Guard in a big defensive line with Sisters of Avelorn behind. :)
Interesting your formation looks a lot like mine. Everyone else was doing this diamond archer formation with 5 line troops...needless to say it didnt work and i find myself here. Really good video!
Man, I'm just starting this game and many of these units are not available to, I'm playing with Tyrion. I can't find Silverin Guards, Nobles, Rangers, War Lions of Chrace, and so on....confusing as sh*t
hello good sir, i believe you would have to purchase some DLC for the high elves. For the endgame army, just the queen and crone DLC is enough. and for the other units, you have to buy the other high elves DLCs. Hope this helps
Am i the only one Running 10 Spearman and 10 Archers from start til end... And its Cheap to replace and Its actually good. Just use Spear as a Wall and just use 10 archers to Take out 1 Unit at Once. if the General gets Close all the Missile dmg will Kill it withhin seconds and the enemy will Run
I'm playing Teclis vortex and was wondering how to get this Silver Guards and Lions unit, and I found I was missing one HE dlc... Good it was Christmas discount, so fixed now :) Restarted campaign because now can also have Phoenix mount for Teclis.
The lord from that DLC (Eltharion) has an interrogation mechanic that's tremendous fun. I think Damnders even did a guide on how to finesse keeping both his exotic starting position and his home on Ulthuan in Mortal Empires. You can also have several lords kill your nemesis Grom Da Paunch (and then disband the lord) for an ever-increasing relations boost with other High Elves.
@snakeoo7ca given I have improved since writing this I can agree with you. I lost quite a few battles because I wasn't using them correctly. However there are still far better troops to use in the high elf roster depending on your preferred strategy.
I see that you only have 6 melee units, idk bout you but since warhammer 1 ai tend to outnumber player, and im using 8 to 10 melee units sometimes its not enough, high elves artillery is the stupidest artillery in any warhammer and imma HE main so idk how you survive campaign with that amount of range unit it doesnt make any sense but good vid btw
higher difficulty buffs enemy melee troops so there always stronger then yours. so its normal to go with more ranged because they stay the same on every difficulty that means always good. i mean why try to go for the weaker stuff, instead capitalize on the highelf strenghts an that is ranged. but everyone its own if you wanna play melee focused have fun thats the most important part.
Tyrion; *dies 500 times* Random noble; *solos 10 armies and is still going strong* ^ On my 400th turn, I can confirm, Tyrion is WEAK. I just put him on a dragon and use his abilities when necessary.
Mid game units are trash, mostly, in my opinion. I usually keep my early game armies until I can field Sisters of Avelorn, Dragons and Swordmasters of Hoeth.
What's your favourite High Elf unit?
I like the look of Lions
Thanks for these videos, what DLC's are required for this guide?
@@TrampflickI think it's just Queen and the Crone for the final army, for the middle Army I think its both paid High Elf DLCs and for the first army none.
DRAGON PRINCES
Swordmasters. They are like Jedi . But sadly they seem really shit in game . I expect them to chew up infantry, but they don’t

Smooth brained doomstacks lmao

Arcane phoenix is one of the best looking models in the game imo 👌
I was told LSG shielded front line and as many Sisters as I can stack would do the trick

I'd go for a princess as a lord and a life mage, not sure what shadows brings that better.
I was just looking for exactly this video format! Thank you!
Would recommend the mods for HE - so much fun with Lion Riders and many frontline options.
Also this is surprisingly similar to my high elf faction army, 100% love this channel
Ik everyone else is on 3 but, love your videos. Definitely fun builds and very solid
Great video! Please do for all races, I would love one on the dark elves and skaven as well :)
Already done them if you check out the playlist > ruclips.net/p/PLRaFFeb2pyuMLpdr5sR4UlMvHbE96tw3b
How do you access that unit viewer thing at 1:04?
I’d personally take a lore master instead of a second spell caster but I like the rest of the comp for the end game

Im in the kampaign have no idea how to biuld the swart master and also not how to biuld the phönix or the bows from lategame.
what difficulty do you play on?

How do you get rangers? Is it a dlc or a certain faction?
DLC unit from the Warden and the Paunch DLC.

One tip for high elf armies, never ever even think about recruiting White Lions of Chrace. They are trash and will lose to dark elf spearmen.
This is just untrue lmao

Sisters of Avalorn also do well in melee, they should probably get a buff

me with a stack of half LSG(S) and half averlorn sis ;)
Insane range damage bro

Why does Tyrion seem so terrible in campaign?
Cus ur bad

Warhammer 2? Lol kinda late
