I love the way a band grows and matures with age, this song was written in the late 70's but by the early 80's had become a synth classic- which is amazing when you hear this version which still directly resonates with Japans roots as an art house rock band - superb stuff indeed!!
This version is my 3rd favorite version of this song. First, is the one the played in Leiden, Holland, which in my opinion, is the ultimate version of 'European Son' If you haven't listened to it, I suggest you do yourself a favor, and go and listen to it. You can find it here. ruclips.net/video/Y199u6RxNNM/видео.html My second favorite version the one they played in Budokan 1982.
The drums…..everything, just have the most amazing sound. How did they do that back then? Did they have their own sound engineer that traveled with them? Does anyone know what effects they were using?
1曲意外なセンスを持った編曲を入れてみたい。当時にそういうセンスを感じます。かっこいい

My favorite is the one they played live in Leiden, Holland, but this one is good too. 👍
Exquisite alternative arrangement. Pity this couldn't have been squeezed onto 'Oil on Canvas'!
Like this version from classic Japan singles merging from glam alternative rock to new wave invention kool
Yet another live version . never heard this one, thx for sharing
