I love Lumines! I started playing it around the same time as Everyday Shooter and they are forever linked in my mind. Just two musically oriented PSP games with simple gameplay and immaculate vibes.
@@CampXtras i think so. Lumines II i didnt like the OST as much, and the other versions never really felt as tight or as sleek. Lumines Remastered comes very close though!
Absolutely!!! Such a fantastic puzzle game... I still keep my ps3 around to fire Lumines Supernova from time to time which in my opinion is the best entry in the series. A shame it never got ported anywhere else or get the remaster treatment. 🤷
damn well it does. I had a little obsession with it in 2023, played it for a few hundred hours. Great stuff. Try Electric Symphony on Vita. While it doesn't have much content, it's Voyage gamemode is amazing even on its own
Good review. Edit for spelling mistakes or not played other entries in series. Lumines I got on PSP for cheap physical and it's a good game but still not my thing. I prefer like Ratchet the gadget ones like the Electrolyzer in Ratchet 2 with the gates and electrical sources is tough but fun or like those on PSP the 2D/3D character ones so Exit, Cube, Crush, Practical Intelligence Quotient 1&2, Mercury (if a fan of ball maze kind of stuff which as I like Labyrinth Plus Edition for Windows XP Microsoft Plus pack yes). Stuff like those. Not played any but the first game. I think licensed music is ok not appealing even in radio station or other formats in racing or other types of games. They fit thematically but I don't like any they usually put I prefer menu music or original music so the older Lumines I think is better with original songs. WipEout Pure I briefly tried and Pulse may be like other entries but I thyfor better. Pure feels like how Forza Motorsport 5 or Gran Turismo 1, nothing wrong with the pacing of them in championship ways the others did but I find them more not great the one after another and more menu/event flexibility of Pulse or others. I have no played 1 to 3/Fusion only Pulse, (physical), HD, digital, HD Fury (Omega and not transferred HD Vita content to 2048) and 2048 (physical) and Omega Collection (physical). Music is good, visuals good, tracks are good as played on HD and those don't recognise as used to Pulse tracks. It's a fair game. But a mobile/handheld feeling curated game. Not a bad design some I don't mind, but not my preferred layout/structure for this game. Was going to watch your Pure review now. And other videos as not seen this channel pop up or the other channels section at all on Camp Xbox. But video recommendation. XD And I like your reviews. More so obstacle course stuff or more involved then the simplicity of Tetris or the layout of Tetris. 3D Tetris sounds fine but a camera angle or not many modifiers or something or modes just makes Tetris seem boring to me. I enjoy arcade games but they need a bit of enough ideas to appeal to me. Even modern console games are so empty and bland in gameplay I can't be bothered by the story/graphics don't appeal, worlds are lifeless and gameplay is basic but lacks fun factor and the level dest/movesets reflect that for audiences targeting. I assume this is the remaster? Or just your further along as I haven't seen those characters, obviously haven't those skins as I know they unlock and songs haven't those types either or I don't know how to select between them. I didn't play it much probably a few hours on and off again not my type of game but gave it a go. I wanted to like puzzle mode but it was too difficult and particular what it asked so I didn't understand it. I like the idea, it is more my thing is a set of challenges or career or something besides an arcade mode or something else but the gameplay and not enough altering of the board just silhouette guides too hard to match up the way it was wants isn't fun. A physics puzzle flash game would do this better. Music is tricky. Music in games is fine, music based games where it's the focus with general gameplay then dance/singing/instruments or otherwise I appreciate and enjoy more but the songs don't appeal. Very few do. I am very electronic music picky and 2000s era is fine but yeah many of these didn't appeal to me but the later ones I haven't experienced you out in the video do sound good and I should give them a listen. I listen to all genres so to me it isn't a problem finding songs. Lumines, Rhythm Heaven or others. I still can get into them but I am very sound design as in structure/patterns of it picky. It's a good game no doubt but has eh moments and isn't my type of game. Also I don't like Tetris. It spices things up for sure with its gameplay differences to be a completely different game but unique, cough not even close to that extent just a completely different game as in different but unique idea, not even the slightest how else are popular games as inspiration so easy we see it all the time, who experiments anymore or has niche game inspiration, exactly. Laziness to match the quality of those inspired because they don't have the skill, laziness to think outside the box/follow popular. Sorry that's off topic but it bothers me in modern gaming.
I found it strange to open on a statement about objectives as you soon mention altered perception of time and transcendence. I say embrace subjectivity and personal experience wholeheartedly if that's what excites you. Seems especially appropriate for Lumines.
I want to be playing this in 2005 at 3am in the back of a jumping New York night club
So specific but I totally get it!

A friend got me into this game recently and its so good

good video! i love this series, the ones on the vita and the switch are really good too
perfect video game, i dont think ive played any game more than ive played lumines
Is it your favorite one in the series?

Love this game. Wish there was a sequel by now or an Origins version that celebrate the legacy because I think Lumines is still underrated!

I got this a few months ago on switch. The answer is yes!
Yes it holds up. Second
Shake ya body shake ya body shake ya body shake ya bo
I want to see you talk about Death Jr. It got reviews when it launched but it was an early PSP game and I'm curious if it holds up.
I’ve actually played that one but it definitely needs a replay. I’ll give it a look!
Got this in switch, decent puzzle game
