First time watching and you guys have already earned a new subscriber. BTW, Fantasia had two segments adapted as live-action remakes. The other was the Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
They originally had plans to do one for Pocahontas, but when they realized they couldn’t do it the project was cancelled. Also Disney re-acquired the rights for the Chronicles of Prydain to make as a series on Disney+ so hope against hope they can do Black Cauldron right this time.
I'm glad they realized that they couldn't do one for pocahontas, they would never be able to recreate the stunning colors in the backgrounds, there's things that only animation can do that live action can never do,I'm surprised they only realized this for pocahontas and not for alot of other animated movies
24:27 The Hunchback musical debuted in Germany, and was one of Berlin's longest running musicals. They didn't put it on Boradway or West End for unknown reasons, and it was then turned into a licensable work for local theatres to perform. It was officially made by Disney, though.
Even if Wish wasn't one of disney's best movies, i am still glad that this was not just a original movie but also a ANIMATED movie instead of a live action remake, something that Disney should really go back to: to make animated movies. Animation was the reason why Walt Disney himself created the company. Now today, the company is so greedy with money with not just buying other companies but also making too many live action remakes.
Yes it's animated BUT it's in 3D while the backgrounds are in 2D, not fully in 2D. You think the compagny who was saved because of Snow white, a 2D movie would be grateful and make more. No let's be lazy and copy Spider-verse but make it boring, that's a good idea 😂
34:44 just looked it up and Busted sang it first! Also the Jonas Brothers already have a song on the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack called “Kids of the Future” (which is a cover/rewritten version of “Kids in America” by Kim Wilde)
33:10 I feel like my parents bought the Brother Bear DVD just bc they loved it lol & it’s a very relaxing movie! I remember liking the moose brothers 😂
Nick, always 😂 also I have a strict no live action watching policy after suffering through the lion king and beauty and the beast but I would for sure watch the black cauldron, that’s one of my favorites and I wish more people had seen it! It’s so weird it works for me lol
ALL TIME DISNEY FAN. RIGHT HERE😆😆 25:04 I HATE THE LIVE ACTION MULAN. No Mushu, no songs, Look I get that Disney wanted it to be more accurate to the poem or the history. Plus it just came out durning the worst time.
The answer for you Ediz is Busted did year 3000 first in 2003. The Jonas Brothers did the cover years later in 2007. If I had to pick my favourite it would be Nick but all three of them are talented. I also wished Year 3000 was on the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack along with Little Wonders it would be more wholesome because Year 3000 reminds me of Meet the Robinsons Anyway I can’t wait for you guys to react to Meet the Robinsons. The movie is still wholesome even today the movie holds up as a classic for me as an adult. I subscribed to you guys ever since the Snow White video and I can’t wait for you guys to get to the renaissance era which is my favourite era of Disney. Ediz and Ben keep up the great work with the reactions and your videos you guys are great. 🙂
I agree with Ben about Beauty and the Beast. I started to watch it, but as soon as I heard the heavily auto-pitched singing by Emma Watson I switched it off and watched the animated classic instead.
I could be flogging up a dead horse but I felt like I saw ages ago a sword in the stone remake was announced but like Hunchback, nothing has been done with it. I agree with the list for the most part but I think I'd class Sleeping Beauty as Been There Done That just because Maleficent (expecially the first 1) was very much a retelling of Sleeping Beauty but through Maleficent's lens and also offers info and backstory about Maleficent's past, but I feel it still tells the story of Sleeping Beauty. I'd agree Princess and the Frog is probably next to be announced assuming the Sword in the Stone rumour had happened, Tarzan I'm sure would happen but i'm intrigued about how soon due to the book rights apparently being strict?
I bet every doll collector is watching the live action Little Mermaid on repeat right now.. every doll collector I see on the internet absolutely loved it.
Unpopular opinion: I prefer the original films, but I've got nothing against the remakes. I happen to like them, but not all of them. I don't really have any issues with them, and I treat them and the original films as equals. That said, Disney should probably focus less on them. Maybe one every three years at least.
I love the Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers movie. They need to do a movie like this for Animaniacs. In fact, I have an idea for a live action/animated Animaniacs movie. Animaniacs: The Movie is a live-action/animated hybrid, slapstick comedy, musical, and crossover movie sets in the real world where humans and toons co-exist with one another (similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers [2022]). And The Warner Brothers and the Warner Sister, Yakko, Wakko and Dot Warner along with their new human friend Harper Parker (Jo Ellen Pellman) has to save the future of the animation industry and their home studio, Warner Bros. from the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav.
Why making your movie anoter live-action| animated one? Thoses types are not good like Hop, the SMurfs 1 and 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Peter rabbit etc. Your idea sounds fun but would be great in 2D. There's no 2D movies anymore, that's dissapointing ☹
They're probably going to remake their remakes when they run out of movies to remake, or they might just remake the Pixar movies. Lightning McQueen: Live-Action Machine starring The Rock
3:55 I definitely thought you were gonna say Fantasia 2000 but apparently that’s the sequel lol but The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a fun time…definitely inspired by Fantasia so I think it counts
the 3 caballeros i think could be a chip & dale rescue rangers and rodger rabbit, there could be a jack and the beanstalk movie but without mickey, i think some stories from make mine music, melody time, and adventures of ichabod and mr toad
I fully agree with Ben about Atlantis and Treasure Planet. I’d love to see them, but they need big budget. More Pirates of the Caribbean and less Haunted Mansion.
One movie I'd want to be re-made is one of their biggest flops: The Black Cauldron. Long story short, Disney tried to cram 5 books (roughly 1.1k pages) in less than 90 minutes, Tim Burton worked shortly on it but none of its character designs were retained... If Disney wanted to revisit TBC, here are my three ideas: _ bring back Tim Burton not just as character design, but as director. _ it's clear that 90 minutes isn't enough to explore the Prydain lore, so how about a series? _ everyone is tired of these lifeless live-action remakes, so here's the thing: do it in Stop Motion, and if possible, in coordination with Laika Studios.
Busted came first and Jonas brothers covered it! So weird in the last 2 weeks I’ve become the biggest Jonas brothers fan and I’m obsessed with Joe 😂 so it’s weird you’ve mentioned them in this video 😂
I love you two, but the villains in Pocahontas were british, not americans lol so maybe the british needs to learn they weren't always the first ones there lol. No disrespect again I love you guys
I highly doubt that Disney will do Frozen, Encanto or Tangled or even Big Hero 6, only because Frozen is VERY popular as it is and i don’t think Disney would touch that plus’s they just announced like you guys say Frozen 3 and 4 so i don’t think they will touch frozen, as for Encanto i don’t think it will get remade Ether nor tangled or big hero 6. As for live actions i do agree that they are getting worse and i feel like disney is gonna continue doing theses until there is nothing left, but i am just ready to get out of the live action movies, i mean Maleficent was really good, also Cruella and Beauty and the beast, and Aladdin, The Lion King, Peter Pan & Wendy, Pinocchio, Mulan, Cinderella, were really good movies. But i feel like they are getting worse by the minute just look at the new Snow White for instant and The Little Mermaid as well, i think Disney is not realising to themselves that people would prefer like the animated Disney version of theses movies then live actions and look people have watched theses movies when they were little and i think for sooo many people there is a lot of nostalgia, and i think they are not aware or listening to the audience about what they want, i understand they want to bring newer generations in but i think there always going to go back to the animated Disney versions and watch that with there kids instead of the live action movies, cause there parents might of seen it and wanted to show there kids of what they watched when they were younger, and there is so much nostalgia because of that, and i think no matter what Disney does we will always go back to the Disney animated movies to watch.
I don't think Tim Burton's live-action Alice in Wonderland counts as a remake. As with Maleficent-to-Sleeping-Beauty, it's a newly invented story suggested by characters from the animated film -- in this case a weird unpleasant sequel (as you can tell, I don't like it, at all -- I would have fewer issues if he'd called it Return to Wonderland, but even then I doubt I'd care fot it). I'm devoted to Alice in Wonderland as a book and in all its screen versions, but that truly isn't one. I am, however, amusing myself imagining a Johnnie Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet live-action remake, taking 90 minutes to show us all their adventures, from shop window to eventual horse hats. Yikes, would that be awful.
I’d definitely watch a Tv series of “The Rescuers”, each episode is a new case! 🙂 And YES to a live action “The Black Cauldron”, but it might have to be a trilogy or something, like LOTR. But not doubt Disney will make it cheap and trashy. 😢
I mean on the one hand - yeah. But on the other hand - we all know that if Disney didn't do it someone else would (which is probably why Disney got there first to grab as much of the spotlight as they could). I mean there's the Canon Fairytale series from the 1980s, and Germany's had at least three tv movie series of fairytales over the last few decades (one's still going on).
Okay so 1: I absolutely would have included the films like Maleficent in the ranking personally 2: So as an American, when I was in college I took a class on like multiculturalism and the textbook used the terms “European Americans” and had a whole section in the beginning explaining why they made that decision. It’s the ONLY context I’ve heard that term used, ever. I have used "White American" in recent years, but it's definitely a newer thing. You asked why it’s not a thing? I mean, there’s a whole historical thing there. It’s not like we always used the terms “Asian Americans” and “African Americans” and whatnot-in our history we’ve used plenty of other terms, but thanks to racism all those terms are now recognized as slurs. “___ American” is considered the most neutral term because you can’t really turn it into a slur. But “white” has never been used as a slur (despite what some white people will insist lmao) so there was never a need for a new term. Kinda fucked up but that’s how it is. If I have more thoughts as I continue this video I’ll put them in the thread
Love how Ben asked how they’d differentiate a live action Tarzan from all the others as if there weren’t 3 Pinocchios that came out in the same year. Disney doesn’t care what competition’s out there. Or a million Cinderella movies haha
If Emperor’s New Groove became a live action film, they’d probably just go in a drastically different direction than the animated one. Given that the OG one was practically improvised, and was thrown together last minute, I doubt they’d attempt a faithful recreation
Lol Brother Bear’s one of my favorite Disney movies hahahaha. I don’t think it’s likely but I’m surprised it got ranked LOWER than, say, Ichabod and Mr Crane
Lol I knew it wasn’t a Jonas Brothers song originally but I wouldn’t have been able to tell you who did the original. And idk, back when I was into the Jonas Brothers I think Nick was my favorite?
They need to stop making crappy live-action remakes and come up with new and original ideas. They're changing and ruining their beloved animated movies so much, they're taking away its original messaging and it what made them beloved in the first place.
I feel like Disney won’t make any remakes for movies that have been made in recent years, since they are already so new. But also they might do good in the box office since they are well known. But I guess they’re doing Moana, so…
@EdizAndBen there was a live action sleepy hollow but there wasn't anything that said disney made but I could've sworn there was a live action one made by disney
@@gustavoolmos2572The one you keep misinterpreting is the 1999 version starring Johnny Depp and directing by Tim Burton, and fyi again that was NOT Disney but Paramount.
When it comes to the remakes I have seen: 101 Dalmatians- okay at best, Cinderella- Meh, Jungle Book- Bad, Pete’s Dragon- Boring (I actually said in the theater with the scene in the car. So when do they crash and die?), Alice in Wonderland I hate as first they say it is “Underland” and somehow it’s own thing while also a sequel? Plus why fill a world that doesn’t run on logic with logic and strip it of all it’s color? The absolute worst one I have seen is Maleficent. To paraphrase the quote by Roger Ebert: I hated this movie HATED HATED HATED HATED IT. HATED EVERY SIMPER STUPID AUDIENCE INSULTING MINUTE. Okay so you have one of the greatest villains of all time-Maleficent. You want to give her a backstory fine whatever maybe show how she became this ultimate evil. That’s not what they do though. They go the Wicked route and turn her into a poor misunderstanding and make every character around her either an idiot or a evil villain. The fairies in the original film where a little silly, but they were able to raise and hide Aurora successfully for sixteen years before Maleficent made it to her. Here she not only finds the babe immediately, but because the fairies are ditzes that can’t do anything right, she ends up being the one to raise her. The King was a kind man in the original and only wanted to see his daughter again pffft we can’t have that no no no. Here we have to make him an evil bastard that once loved Maleficent, but now wants to destroy her. Plus she doesn’t even turn into the dragon in the film!
Man I forgot most of these live action remakes exist I really hope thatdisney stops focusing in these and out more manpower into their animated movies because Wish was definitely not that great
if it was a remake then a child should of played alice throughput the whole movie and should of had the songs as well and should of had a similar plot to the disney cartoon version
The best live action remake they did I like this is my list ailce in wonderland and Cinderella Christopher rodin and Pete s dogan and the little mermaid and beauty and the beast and the Aladdin and marry poppins and dumb and the lion king and Pinocchio and lady and the tramp crualla and the jungle book
Princess and the frog And tangled Pocahontas and frozen the hunchback of notre dame and sleepy beauty and Tarzan and Encanto and Hercules and wish rodin hood and snow and the seven dwarfs and the lion king simbs pride and monan
Mulan and Peter and the Wendy and maleficent they are the worst places stop do back story and do more animated classic in live action remake fixed mulan from 1998 animated in live action and Peter Pan from 1953 in live action and sleepy beauty from 1959 animated in live action please do Pocahontas from 1995 animated in live action
Ben’s “I don’t know any dinosaurs to cast” was so genuine and sincere lol I’m dying

Ichabod was of course done by Tim Burton as “Sleepy Hollow”, and a “Pocahontas” live action is “The New World” with Colin Farrell and Christian Bale.
I pay good money to see a live action big Hiro 6 but with some changes to the story
They're probably going to remake their remakes when they run out of movies to remake, or they might just remake the Pixar movies. Lightning McQueen: Live-Action Machine starring The Rock

@@gustavoolmos2572The one you keep misinterpreting is the 1999 version starring Johnny Depp and directing by Tim Burton, and fyi again that was NOT Disney but Paramount.
TIER LISTS FTW
When it comes to the remakes I have seen:
101 Dalmatians- okay at best,
Cinderella- Meh,
Jungle Book- Bad,
Pete’s Dragon- Boring (I actually said in the theater with the scene in the car. So when do they crash and die?),
Alice in Wonderland I hate as first they say it is “Underland” and somehow it’s own thing while also a sequel?
They've gotta stop with the remakes...
they arn't stopping anytime soon
How about dave foley as ralph
Man I forgot most of these live action remakes exist I really hope thatdisney stops focusing in these and out more manpower into their animated movies because Wish was definitely not that great
Glad I’m not the only who hates these live-action remakes. They’re so unnecessary!
There was a live action sleepy hollow but disney didn't make it
But Alice in Wonderland 2010 is more of a sequel it is about Alice coming back to Wonderland, and nothing kind of but the characters is a remake
also alice is teenager in the 2010 so there the start remaking movies into live action in 2015
if it was a remake then a child should of played alice throughput the whole movie and should of had the songs as well and should of had a similar plot to the disney cartoon version
I like remakes 😌
i love lilo and stitch but i';m afraid
You've missed out Brave
What about Disney Wish?
Neither of you have seen the best live action Cinderella??? Cancelled bye
Ed saw it in real life so doesn't need to 😂
@@EdizAndBendoesn’t count, the dress wouldn’t have been as ridiculously saturated in real life it’s the whole vibe 😂
