LOL You are correct, this is my third group hang but I went as a spectator in the Allegheny National Forest in 2018, before I ever got my first hammock. I just went looking for advice and insight, but I was quickly welcomed and even offered an opportunity to spend the night by the other campers compiling a set up of their extra gear !! Unfortunately, I had to decline because I told my wife I'd be home later and would have had to drive halfway home to get cell service. But, you're right, if you want to learn, a hang like this is a great starting point. Don't be shy, We don't bite. Thanks for capturing the event so wonderfully. I did a video of my own but will likely share yours because you did such a great job. I'm going to try to do the spring event. If I do, maybe I'll see you there. Take care, my friend !!
Getting you in the background actually made my video probably really really good I really enjoyed the event and you're right definitely don't be shy everybody's always so helpful and that's a great experience you had as a spectator to go to one of the hangs early on definitely a great way to learn and like you said if someone wants to stay there's people that have plenty of extra gear along with them to make it happen I plan to get to the spring event as well hopefully definitely will see you there God bless take care my friend
I know a few heavier people that hammock. Just don't try it with a cheap Amazon hammock. You'll want to go with a cottage vendor that can make it with stronger material to hold the weight.
Definitely a great time it is really fun to come together and meet new people and also sealed friends these are great events for the community of hammock hangers who are very welcoming even if you got a tent LOL

That is quite a drive I'm wondering if there isn't a another hang near where you are that would be closer there is a calendar on Dutchwaregear site (. com) that if you hit on the event calendar a map of the United States comes up and it shows different events in various locations

That looked really fun! Next summer I would like to try hammock camping. I'm a heavy-set person and don't know if a hammock could hold me.

You definitely have to give it a try Joyce the one wind hammock that I use I believe is rated at 450 lb
