2008 Mini Cooper automatic my turbo sound like it has marbles in it when I ease off the accelerator pedal it was never this loud also lack of power when I accelerate. trying to diagnose this problem. any would be appreciated.
@@ProjectMini I thought that was where my leak was. It was a little loose. I tightened all my hoses and the same symptoms you had, I'm still having. It works fine in non sport mode but in Sport mode on a Mario Palza Stage 3, it sputters like that when I hit about18 to 21 psi but still makes 22 psi. I'm now adjusted two turns on the turbo nut toward the drivers side, but no change. I also put a GFB D+ on it. This problem is driving me nuts!

Take your intake hose off and check for play in the bearings
There is some play on the waste gate
What about the compressor?
Check your diverter valve very common problem
Where was your boot leak? I have the same issue but haven't been able to locate the issue.
The second hose clamp after the intercooler. It was my own fault for not putting it on straight enough

Which hose ended up being loose?

Does this mini have an upgraded turbo?
Yes, it has the JMTC S42
That’s the turbo I use and pretty happy with it
Get Norma hose clamps you won't have that problem.
What mod caused the turbo flutter/compressor surge sound?
Did the diverter valve cause the sound and the CAI made it louder?
