Thank you very much for your demonstration at the Central Maryland Knitting Guild this month. I subscribed right there. You are a wonderful envoy for machine knitting.
I am going to try this today! BTW - I found an ergo-toe mentioned in a CSM book (Circular Machine Knitting; Beyond Basics by Lucy E. Best). She didn't give exact directions to make it, but someone (besides me) has thought about it and even tried it, at least once.
Thank you all your work on these videos! Can you explain why some people crank with the heel spring on foe an entire sock? Have you ever played with that. Also … a question about if you ever loosen the cam/gauge while turning the heel… I like a nice tight sock but sometimes the heel is just to crazy tight- thanks again!
Thank you for watching. Good questions. I will try to answer the best i can. Some people crank the whole sock with heel spring on to tighten up the stitches and keep the whole sock with the same tension. Like you stated, when the heel spring is on for the heel/toe, it changes the gauge/tension. So I know at least 1 person (personally) who does that and on the vcam tension, she did make it a click or so more lose (longer stitches) so when the heel spring is on the whole time, the machine won't jam. If you have your vcam already at a tighter tension for that yarn, when you get to the heel and put the spring on, it can make the heel tension way too tight and cause problems while cranking. I would say if your heel is too tight, I would loosen my vcam tension a few clicks and then make the whole sock with the spring so it's all nice and even. I have never loosened my v cam when I got to the heel, but I do understand why someone would do that (it's makes the tension too tight and can cause cranking issues) I hope my answer made sense. If you have any further questions, please let me know. And happy cranking.

Thank you so much for subscribing. I really enjoy showing the machine. It gives me a lot of joy.
Great tutorial - I think we’ll like this less “pointy” heel and toe 🎉
Woo hoo
Thanks for making these videos, pal! I've learned so much from you!
Oh you are so welcome. 😍 I have really enjoyed being able to show my love for this machine.
I like the idea of a rounded toe but I definitely need a deeper heel.

Yes. I would love to see your results for the ergonomic toe!

Thank you for this demonstration, I like your yarn, which one is it ?
This is a knit picks Felici yarn that they no longer make. They now have a new line called Felincini
