So, based on the fact that Ramattra?? the newest hero we got, has armor/shields voice lines + the new skins from the battle for olympus also got new lines means that they are definitely bringing back armor/shields. Perhaps with the brig rework or with the new supports? they said the new supports would have new stuff but then again i don't think it will be armor/shield because they said "New supportive tools" and that stuff isn't really new to support.
I think the reason for the Greek gods skins getting the lines is only cuz like you said the gamemode, but they arent requesting for armor, you pick it up yourself so no need for a request Also don’t forget that Junker Queen, Kiriko, and sojourn having the lines to ask for armor

it's possible, they did say they wanna make 2 more support heroes with unique skills and Kiriko and Ramattra having Armor/Shield VL makes 0 sense if they're not considering adding someone who could add them in the first plase
if i had to guess the new ones are just for consistency in case something requires these lines eventually. probably easier than reworking or adding a hero with armor or shields and having to go back and rerecord lines for it. similar to how sojourn and junker queen got telescope voicelines on lunar colony
I clarified that in the description. The short answer is yeah you can still use it but you specifically have to look at her to trigger it while if you were Symmetra (Before December 2016) you would have always heard that line.
@@sturm2186 Let's just say that some of those types of videos are more of an update to those videos that were uploaded years ago that were hugely outdated so I decided to make these for people who might not have heard these lines before including brand new ones for the new heroes that aren't in the game.
perhaps this is related to how pve will work for OV2 with the ability trees for each hero, maybe sym and torb can give shields/armor respectively again and maybe even other heroes can do it too!
Even though I do kind of miss the old Symmetra I personally don't feel the same way for Torbjörn which that rework was really needed for him and ever since then he's probably at his best state and to add on with the buffs he received.

They mainly have these lines just in case they ever return to the game and won't require them to get the voice actors to do another recording session.

Some of these voice lines have nothing to do with armor or shield it's from the ultimate pickup you get in battle for Olympus
