This is one of the greatest songs ever written.
Agreed.
Thanks to All Songs Considered for showing this beautiful song
Yeah! Same here!
The first time I heard this I couldn’t stop crying
Me too ❤ what a safe release
almost 1.5 years in, and this song continues to provide solace that's deeply appreciated. Thank you, Cassandra.
I can't stop listening to this, thank you for sharing your beautiful soul and talent. 😊🦋💕
the "one, two, three" section made me like ugly cry so i guess I'm the target audience innit
🤣😂🤣 innit tho.
yup
had to pull off the highway because i was bawling so hard at this song
Same here. Every time.
I think crying has the most healing power
Here because this was my #1 song for 2023 on my Spotify wraps. Thanks for helping me thru it ❤
this definitely sounds like some kind of therapy. it's gourgeous.
We're only one month into 2021 and I think I've already found my favorite song of the whole fucking year.
It will be hard to top.
Totally agree. Love this!
was thinking the very same
I was going to write something about that. 1, 2,
YES!!
The perfect meditative soundtrack for long, sobering walks and/or drives! Having this track is like having your own personal therapist singing to you through your earphones.
There are some things you don't know you need until you hear them. This is one of those occasions
Was in a gloomy headspace, lying in bed without much desire to do anything at all, but watching and listening this really brightened things up, thank you! 🥰
Sending you much love and light my friend!
I hope things are going better for you now! Life is full of peaks and troughs; you just have to learn to cope with all the emotions that accompany them in a healthy manner. That's resilience.
Same for me today. I never go to bed in the daytime but was so gloomy today I took to my 🛌 in the afternoon for a while. Just heard this for the first time on Gideon Coe BBC6 and it really warmed my heart and made me feel strangely content. Has a beautiful atmosphere to it. Great lyrics. I’ll come find you, we can listen together 👌🏽
Six months later, this song (and video) is still magical.
It's just so fresh. Everything about it is perfect.
If there's a better moment in a song, this year than when she asks "Are you nervous?" and then she sings "I said, yes....................................". Jesus wept, I love that.
I've had the whole album on repeat for the last days but this one really stands out. The lyrical theme, the softness of her voice, the vocal transitions from speaking into singing and the great saxophone make up a whole. This song is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket on a cold, sunny day outside. Thank you for this gift.
Really is
Love the strumming guitar sound too
Wooow
Agreed
Last time I felt so happy to discover new artist was when I first heard National. So beautifully haunting in a good way.
Same! it's absolutely transcendent just like my first experience with SWB
Funny the National and Cassandra are right next to each other on my playlist
Great song. The transitions between singing and talking to the fourth wall is great. That saxophone really it’s own character, I love it.
This song helped me go through one of the hardest patches of my life in 2021... I'll forever be grateful to Cassandra for this gift :)
Sublime. Just need to find someone who loves this song the same way I do.
🌌
Lately, this has become my happy place.
One year on, this is defo the early front runner for best song of the decade. I remember how blown away I was when I first heard it, I had to stop in the street and take it all in. Still hits just as hard what must be 100+ listens later. Such a unique, gentle, gorgeous track, so full of life.
100%
Here after hearing the recommendation from NPR's "Pop Culture Happy Hour". What a great recommendation!
„So, all those little pieces they took from you… they are coming back now“….
chokes me up every single time and I don‘t even know why…
Just breathe… one, two, three… all those little pieces…
Yeah, a rough few months… I guess…
man the cinematography and editing in this come onnnnnnnnnn, unbelievable
Thank you for this Cassandra. (Also, does anyone else get big 'Destroyer - Kaputt' vibes from this album?)
Yes, with a dash of Laurie Anderson
100%. Kaputt, and also gives me some Broken Social Scene vibes.
i was feeling kaputt vibes!!!!! but loving it!!!
not really...
is there a bigger compliment
Thank you.
I'm listening over and over again. Thanks Cas from South Korea.
i hope her music can touch more people because the world needs to hear her messages
Not much music moves me these days, but this did. I love things with space, room to breathe. Beautiful.
So healing and therapeutic. I love this so much
I cant stop listening this 3rd day a row
This song is about finding a kernel of truth, something personally resonant you can latch onto, despite the overwhelm of the well-intentioned noise.
I just wanna leave my trace here. Beautiful song, it hit me deeply.
Everything about this song is perfect. My favorite on long drives home.
This is amazing. A mystical and breathtakingly beautiful piece of spoken word music. This is essential listening. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. 💙💚
Currently #1 on our South African Indie Online Music Chart

Listening to this at the beginning of your day is so calming
therapy is expensive. but cassandra's album is affordable. so i chose the latter.
Best song of the 2021 for me. Thank you Cassandra!
'Music is the only thing mankind will never truly conquer. It's like chasing the horizon, it carries on and expands in ways like nothing ever before, forever onwards...'🔥 🔥 🔥❤️👑
What a great surprise! It's has been a huge discovering.
2021 needs this song’s spirit and energy. we all do.
Was looking for something else completely and discovered this gem
這個背景音樂太迷人了,歌手的咬字也非常的溫柔優雅,有一種沉靜的力量感,整首歌都像是浸泡在大自然的深遠能量中一樣
Love this! Laurie Anderson for a new generation.
This song moves me unlike any other... not just the words but the movements between speech to singing, the softness from the vocals... Just wow
I feel like I'm healing whenever I listen to this song..
This is absolutely gorgeous and the video somehow makes it even better.
She is amazing!

Just heard this on the HPR radio here in Maui. Mahalo 🌺
Magnifique...Merci !!
Love the use of colour in this video - the autumnal leaves 🍁, yellow jacket, and the red top and lipstick to represent ‘Perry’. Wonderful.

this song evokes an emotion i don’t even know how to describe. chills… ❤️
fyi 1:17-1:38 makes me full-on sob every single time. in a good way! idk what it is about it but i guess it triggers something in my brain lol. it’s just such a beautiful song
There's definitely something going on here.

yea id give this song a 10/10 just heard it on the radio and had to look it up. nice work
So comfortable it is to come back here ☺ We're gonna put your heart back together, But this year, it's gonna be a good one 💗
A voice so assuring and delicate weaved into a gorgeous wall of disarmingly lush instrumental sounds. Pitchfork finally makes a best track recommendation that I would heartily endorse and support on bandcamp. Without intending to imply that the song is derivative, the contemplative delivery of its lyrics remind me of Courtney Bartnett, especially of her track "Depreston", while the cathartic, velvety saxophone remind of tracks from Kaputt's "Destroyer". What a find! So excited to hear more from the album.
Okay but do you mean the album Kaputt by the band (artist) Destroyer? That’s a good album, good band.
@@pnwz You're right! I subconsciously typed those two words in reverse order for some strange reason (facepalm)... Thank you for pointing that out! I'm glad to find someone who appreciates that album in the same way as I do.
Yeah I’m also getting some awesome Destroyer vibes of this song. Beautiful song.
I bought it based off this song. Beautiful.
I love your description of this song!
Love this song so much !! Than u. Hugs from Mexico 🎶👍🏼🌸🌄🚘♀️
For some reason, this reminded me a bit of Laurie Anderson or Jane Siberry, maybe it's the narration mixed with laid back vocals.
Beautifully formed genius....
This may seem a tad hyperbolic.. but this is my fav thing of 2021 so far (: Thank you
I was looking on a website for a Vinyl from an artist which had “Jenkins” in their name, and your album popped up in the search page. I was curious so I decided to listen to this track, and wow. Pure poetry! Love it
Beautiful cathartic song
Very moving. Just gorgeous. The circumstances behind it are rather unfortunate, but life's hardships often seem to lead to beautiful artistry.
This makes me feel things I've never felt
I love this song so much. big hugs from S.Korea
Phenomenal view is Such a beautiful body of work. My favorite album of 2021 so far

«Oh, dear, I can see you've had a rough few months. But this year, it's gonna be a good one.»

Absolutely terrific! Song and video!
Just discovered you from my Spotify daily mix. Love!
Yesterday I had my second date with somebody I met about a month ago, and feelings arose within me, feelings I had never had for anybody. However, I am going to study abroad for the next year, and although I will be occasionally coming back home throughout the experience, I guess I won't be able to see him as much as I would like to. Some might say the timing is bad, and although that same thought crosses my mind from time to time, I think I'm going to carry on getting to meet him and building whatever comes.
Because that's what 'Hard Drive' has meant to me for the past year: feeling outweighs thinking, and the overall picture of your life is not only the memories you keep from all the years, but also the feelings associated with it. I guess not everybody relates to this narrative, but I as a feeler do. And I think we feelers should all embrace that nature of ours, because as the book keeper said: 'You know, the mind... The mind is just a hard drive.'
Thank you, Cassandra, for the inspiration you have given me to grow and thrive from within
#1 played song on my Spotify for 2021! Got me through tough times this year
I'm so in love with this song.
Love this. The beginning reminds me of October in the railroad earth read by Kerouac
This song is like a visit from my therapist
A gift music! Love it sooo much!
This video takes me to a great place. Thanks Pitchfork!
You are an artist! Pure! Respect from Greece
Suffering from Bipolar I and PTSD-I don't know why but this song gives me hope and the solace I need when I'm not feeling well. Thank you, Cassandra. ❤
I heard this song in CBB-FM, and it gave me goosebumps. Absolutely amazing.
It's the first time I've heard the song and it's one of the best songs I've heard in the last 10 years, it's perfect
this allows me to go into my deep conscientiousness and it always reassures me that things will be okay
Such a beautiful song and video. Thanks!
