  • Mo Kong's 'Still Life of an Asian Household’s Fridge' (2021) recalls the COVID-19 pandemic when Asian grocery stores closed due to hateful crimes; and uses the refrigerator, a familiar cultural hub, as a safe space to connect with other Asians and immigrants.
Traverse Mo Kong's Queens Museum installation 'Personal Ark' (October 2021-February 2022) and join them in the studio as they discuss how historical and contemporary instances of olfactory racism inspire their work.

In 2021, the Museum launched its first Open Call for Artist Banners with the aim of raising awareness and standing in solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community against escalating and continued violence. Mo Kong joined fellow artists and finalists Chemin Hsiao and Woomin Kim in a series of programming and free admission days to celebrate their projects and community engagement on the first Saturdays of April, May, and June.
