    Hi everyone, thanks for watching and I'm glad that this video helped you know more about the application process!
    I'd love to help you even further if you're unsure about something. You may comment here or contact me at claudine@claudine.life if you have questions!
    (No need to send me private messages on social media to ask about this matter, as I rarely use my social media accounts nowadays :D)

      John Califano Hi John, in that case, you may still attend the university but you will shoulder the fees and other expenses. As an alternative, you may apply for a scholarship in your university or department once classes start.

      Are we free to apply to any Taiwan universities that we want? I was looking for good universities that have CS class in English to apply. However, in the website there's a file for List of Universities/Colleges Providing Degree Programs Taught in English (for Taiwan Scholarship Recipients)
      2020 academic year.
      Is it okay if I apply to universities ans classes outside of said list?

      @Nelson Lee Hi. If you're from an applicable country, go to your TW embassy for details. You would have to apply for both the school (apply online) and the scholarship (apply in person) simultaneously. There is a website online that should have the application forms when the application time is open. Sorry if that was not specific enough, but that's what I did to ensure I got the right application form filled out and met all the requirements and deadlines. I wish you all the best. :)

      @@jeanlouisanderson2516 I'd say the first thing is to go to your local Taiwanese Embassy if you have one to get details for the application. For the scholarship I had applied in person, and for the school I applied online, but depending what scholarship (MOFA OR ICDF) and what school, application deadlines and requirements are different. Visit the websites for more info. I don't know how it works exactly in Haiti but should be a similar process. I have some Haitian friends here, I guess I can ask them for you. Reply soon. Sorry for the lack of detail.

The reason I haven't finally submitted my application for university is because I don't have the financial statement yet. Although my university is okay with submitting the scholarship application for, they still highly recommend submitting financial statement. I'm waiting in case I can manage a financial statement. But at the same time as the deadline is near for the representative office I gotta send the application so is it okay to submit the admission application form I downloaded for my university although I haven't finally submitted it yet (I feel even after I submit the admission application form is gonna stay the same right?) idk I'm so confused

    Hi Claudine! I’m actually going to study the same program as you did (IMES)! How do you feel about the difficulty of the main courses? I have a BSc in Business and Economics, though it focused more on the business aspect… I’m thinking that I should probably brush up on my math and stat skills as it seems to be instrumental for the IMES degree. Maybe some basic background knowledge in econometrics would be also helpful?

    • @claudinehere
      @claudinehere  2 года назад

      Hi! Sorry for the late response :) The economics courses are fairly manageable, though it can be quite challenging for those who don't have sufficient economics and/or math background. Brushing up on statistics would definitely help, as you'll need LOTS of those in the econometrics course (and Data Science courses, if you wish to take them). Make sure to review your calculus as well, since you'll definitely encounter it in microeconomics.

    When should I apply (not for this year but when I'll finish my bachelor degree) ?

    • @claudinehere
      @claudinehere  2 года назад

      Scholarship application opens around January. As for the universities' timeline, it really depends on which university you're attending so I can't give specifics. They definitely release these announcements before the end of the year though.
      So, after your graduation in June, you can start preparing your documents and wait for university announcements regarding admission procedures. Then, after submitting your university application, wait until January to start with your scholarship application.
      Sorry this answer wasn't too specific but I hope it helped! :)

    Hey! As you said you studied the IMES program at NCCU, is it expected to have some econometrics knowledge? I took basic econ and stats at my uni but im not sure whether that would be enough to pass the imes required courses..

    • @claudinehere
      @claudinehere  2 года назад

      Hi! You should do alright in the IMES required courses as long as you have a strong grasp of basic stats and math (especially calculus for microeconomics). Some of my classmates had only a basic background of econ and stats as well but they managed to do well in all of our courses.
      If you feel that you still need to reinforce your knowledge, the department also offers Intermediate Statistics courses. Or if you want to dig even deeper after the econometrics semester, there is also a Data Science course, which is usually offered during the Spring semester. These courses are electives (and a bit unrelated to your question), but I'm just putting this idea out there in case you want to explore your options! :)

      Hi, I'm not very sure what the acceptance rate is :) But if you've got pretty good grades and study plan + your language proficiency score is higher than the required minimum (assuming your degree requires it), then you should have a good chance of getting in :)

    • @claudinehere
      @claudinehere  5 лет назад

      Hi, NTD5,000 per month won't be enough to live on. Food and transportation is pretty cheap in Taiwan but you still won't have much left with just that amount. It's probably better to apply for the Taiwan MOE Scholarship. There's a scholarship stipend of NTD20,000 every month which I found to be more than enough for living expenses if you're going to live in university accommodation. You may have to shell out more money if you want to live off-campus.

    • @claudinehere
      @claudinehere  4 года назад +1

      You have to look for your own place. The universities also have dorms so that's a very good and affordable option as well. I lived in the university dorm, and the stipend was definitely enough to cover living expenses (+ the occasional travel!)
