Thanks for the video, it is clear and has good audio too. The Seddon was my favorite bus. We had them in Barbdos. We also had Leyland Albion Victors and Albion Vikings.

Hi Philip you are right about those Seddon busses being fast you mean lightning fast,we as youngster here in Barbados love those Seddon busses to the bone especially the midnight run after theater on Saturday night to St Patrick, those Seddon busses were like formula one cars on these narrow roads here, Love to hear those Perkins V8 diesel engines growling through collymore rock wildey sargeants village Vauxhall and kingsland that ride home give you goosebumps man

Glorious diesel engine. I was born and raised in a tin mining settlement in the 70s. Those were the days, in the middle of the night, in the stillness, one country mile away, a lone Seddon bus would be howling away along the main road to the bus depot. I can still recall the engine gasping and braking during downshifts and bellowing back on and on .....the buses are long gone. ....... Killinghall Tin Ltd

Goose bumps. This is the sound I love from my younger days. A Seddon Bus. And it was fast too.

I love the sound of the engine in this Seddon coach. Very sweet running and it is quite fast too. They don’t make them like this today.

Love this! GH Watts used their other Seddon/Plaxton on the school run when I was at Bosworth College in Desford back in the mid 80's. That one was XJF130J I think.

Back in the early 80's I drove a selection of Seddon coaches. A Van Hall 10m with I think a Perkins 510 and a back to front mounted Chinese gearbox. very interesting to drive. Then an 11m front engine crashbox with I think a Perkins 540. A lot of noise, not much go. A 10m Plaxton Panorama, again with a Perkins engine but I can't remember which one. Then finally A 12m Plaxton I can't remember which model body, with a beautiful Gardner 180 teamed with a 6 speed box. Smooth, reasonably fast but because of very poor steering lock, a bitch to drive in places such as Petworth.

The Seddon engine got a different sound and rhythm on idle. Remembering my college days. From Mauritius.

I remember this vehicle spec well, and experienced SELNEC's examples on the "Trans Lancs Express" where they replaced ex Manchester Corporation Bedford VAL airport coaches on the service. They were great when they were given their legs to run fast, but on interurban work, it seems not ideal, with all the stopping/starting and congestion.

Better than a Bedford VAL70 for sure!! :-)

Don't like V8 diesels as much as six cylinders, but very interesting seeing a Plaxton on this chassis.

You obviously didn't drive them in service! Under powered with a lightweight chassis, I never liked them although the odd 1 or 2 were okish
