James Swett, Medal of Honor, WWII

First Lieutenant James Swett shot down eight enemy aircraft about to attack the American fleet in Guadalcanal before his plane was hit and crash-landed in the ocean on April 7, 1943. Swett received the Medal of Honor on October 10, 1943.
