  • This is the music that plays in Tuskarr-related places throughout the Dragon Isles, mainly for the Uktulut areas in the Waking Shores, and for Iskaara and Whaler's Nook in Azure Span.
I'm not knowledgeable enough on music technicalities to know whether or not the original Northrend Tuskarr themes from Derek Duke are being remixed here, but I don't think they are. These seem to be unique compositions that David Arkenstone has made, though they probably do use some of the same instruments that the original Tuskarr themes used.
Some of these Tuskarr tracks here really remind me of David's earlier WoW music, like his Stranglethorn Vale and Durotar music from Cataclysm, or his Zuldazar Jungle theme from BfA. He's definitely got a recognizable style, that's for sure.

I really love these, so chill to listen to, really like the percussion in these and the Wotlk tuskarr music. And like you said as well, definitely gives vibes from Cata Stranglethorn and the Zuldazar tracks. Like the sticks or whatever they are using as percussion on the 4 H and D track are the same that they used in Zuldazar music and the flutes in those sound like the same as in Stranglethorn, it's like those zones both mixed together, i really like it.

6:30 really reminds me of the Taunka music from Northrend surprisingly, probably because of that choir and the brass. I like it though!

It's kind of amazing how long some of these composers have been working on the game and are still making awesome stuff

Yep. To think for example that Glenn Stafford has been working at Blizzard since 1993 and still is, pretty wild.

Regardless of how people feel about any of WoW's expansions... their music team always comes through with quality, guaranteed.

Music is great, but how fucking desperate are they that they bring back the Tuskarr.

It's not even Blizzard anymore so guess I have to excuse the minimal effort.

They are bringing back an old race that was barely explored in the past, and expanding heavily upon them. I don't think it's desperate, I think it's perfect. We don't need -another- new fucking random weird race with every expansion/patch, when there are lots of things to work on with like the Tuskarr.

The Tuskarr are an amazing race, Inuit-based friendly shamanic seal-people, what's not to like?
