- PART 1 - Emergency services were called to the Welsh town of Pontypridd after 'Storm Dennis' brought MAJOR FLOODS which submerged much of the town in deep water, leaving many people stranded in their flooded houses. South Wales Fire & Rescue Service received over 1000 emergency calls caused by the flooding, and rescued over 100 people. Millions of pounds of damage was caused, and people still remain in emergency shelters while the devastation in cleared.
In this video, you can see Fire Engines and trucks responding, and firefighters rescuing people from the floods, and the terrible chaos amd destruction caused by the awful storm.
Our thanks goes out to the emergency crews of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and all the other agencies for their tireless efforts throughout the week during the floods.👨🚒🏴
Thanks for watching!

Those poor people
But go Wales!
Poor Ponty 😞 Glad nobody was hurt
The Defender was built for that, and he had a snorkel also so it doesn’t affect it to badly and that Saab can tow more than I thought O.O
Great video! Shocking scenes
OMG thats crazy! Amazing video mate 👍😮
Saw the ambulance in the flood on the news Great Video
I live just outside Ponty, luckily I wasn’t affected, but couldn’t believe how bad the flooding was!
It was terrible, hope you are ok buddy
Brilliantly documented.
We're suffering up here in Yorkshire, too, but I must admit this here is shocking.
Guess the Ambo driver wasn't listening to the driver trainer during the "it's better to arrive safely, than not arrive at all! Remember you're the one's who sit in the front, not lay down in the back!" Speech!!
Hope you and yours are all safe Dragon?!
@@VoyagerLover221-zi9uz
We are in Wensleydale and Richmondshire.
Also bad along the Humber and Derwent, especially around York.
@Lucas Smith
I do indeed Lucas.
We use "Gallows Humour" in the emergency services in order to cope with the most miserable and stressful situations you can only imagine.
I'm positive this was not an intentional act. Unfortunately he or she merely got caught out.
Could happen to any of us.
@@residentelect what service you in?
@@guitaristjim6790 YAS, near to Wakefield at present.
When the EVOC Trainer demonstrates Aqua-planing a little too accurately...
Now that's something you DONT see everyday!😱 Not often is it the emergency services responding to rescue one of their own 😮
It's usually local farmers coming to our rescue with tractors and rugged 4x4s lol
Yeah, a very unusual and nasty scenario
Ambo should've known better than to end up like that really. Driving through floods can be so dangerous
It’s not an emergency ambulance so what it was doing is a mystery.
SEAN INGRAM It wouldn’t have been deployed to the incident to deal with casualties at all.
Very nice documentation of the scenes!
Cheers bud
Scary stuff! Amazing coverage buddy, thumbs up 👍.
Madness seeing that ambo submerged in the floods!😱
Too right!
Brilliant video I pass that road and layby on taff well and nantgarw to take my daughter to college the way the taff rose was nothing I ever saw in my lifetime truly scary 😬
Great video! I hope all is well! Also I remember hearing about this
Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt in this flood, however in other cities it was a different story sadly
Well done everyone
My dads a crew manager he went on standby for one of the stations
Amazing! 👨🏻🚒
Thanks for watching 😊
Never seen anything like it in all my years, absolutely insane
Great video mate and well done to the SWFRS, police, ambulance and the search and rescue services in their efforts on rescuing and helping the public. And i hope the ambulance crew who are involved in that flood are safe and well. 👍🙂🚒🚑🚓
Thanks for watching, a great effort by all ememrgency services. Thankfully nobody was hurt
@@dragonemergencyvideos Np mate and glad to hear all is well 👍🙂
That's what we call a Submarine Ambulance! Or uh... at least a wannabe Submarine Ambulance. Doesn't work very well. I think CAKES are in order! Great video :D
🙄🙄
Unbelievable that the emergency lights are still working and that the ambulance's electrical system has not been short-circuited. 😲🤯
Thats an incredible sight to see, such destruction, hope all were ok
Thankfully nobody was seriously injured in this flood
WHOA!!!😳😬😲😲😲
Nice catches ... not so nice situation!
Cheers mate, amd absolutely right 😮
must most unique catch ive ever seen of ambulance accidents. very sad about storms hitting uk.stay safe
4:43 love the shape of this fire engine
should've went for a look didn't realise it was such a big operation
The Ambulance didn't drive into the floodwater. It was PARKED UP. It is a Private Ambulance that was NOT being used at the time. The Water has shorted the electrics, that is why the lights are flashing.
Omg I live in England we're I am I don't get that much flooding wow
Also 5:45 is awesome
This video is better than most overdramatised news reports -- good work
Like a real reportage, very nice work Man
Thanks buddy 😁
So cool that saab towining the boat
Really unsual!
Has been a bit hectic here in Manc in a couple places. Great vid
Very nice, sad about the situation though.
Yes it was terrible, destroyed so much of the town 😞
I wish them all best of luck.
My god! i hope nobody was hurt!
Thankfully not
Good video!
Thanks buddy
Rip ambulance :/
😞😭
You guys got brutalized by Dennis, great work by the Fire Service and other agencies
Such a shame the fire service doesn't charge to recover people who've knowingly driven into flooded roads or move the road closed signs.
It's also about time the UK Fire Service is paid by the government for all these flooding rescues and not having to fund out of their existing budget!!
Absolutely
The cars that were there, could have been parked and swept down stream, unless it’s stated
@@chaoszombie9995 ah that would serve them right, but only if nobody was in their vehicles. Be a bit of "serves you right".
@@B17tailgunnerI agree ;)
Devastating impacts. I was further up the valley in Pentre when this happened, also trapped in my own home. The house is completely wrecked as a result and have had to move to emergency accomodation.
Fair play to the electrics on that ambulance. The battery and fuse box will be underwater, their connections must be pretty watertight 👀
Super video!
Cheers buddy
South Yorkshire gont nine of this, it was ciera what we had worse.
I live in new Nork but I’m moving to the uk glad to see what the fire trucks look like in the us they are massive
Our emergency services are absolutely amazing and I have nothing but total respect for our brave men and women. and global warming totally has nothing to do with what we are seeing 🤔
Global warming kinda of does
@@generalkenobi5173 it 100% does
The sirens going off on the ambulance 😂😂😂😂
2:15, did he go the wrong way round the roundabout? 😂😂😂
Lucky there was no police boats about 😂👮🏾♂️
Now we need water service
Thats a massive cake fine
Definitely 😬🍰
Ha! Ha! Usually it's 1 shift of cakes for reversing into a solid object, so I dread to think what the fine will be for this?! The local bakery will be kept busy!!
Cake fine needs to be paid to all the emergency services for that one
Especially as it isn’t an emergency ambulance and shouldn’t really have been there.
@@CymruEmergencyResponder wtf are you on about why shouldn't it be there? It was clearly at a job
2020 can you just go back please jeez
Sweet
Nice Footage
Cheers
2020 be like:
Australia fires
corona virus
kobe bryant dead
storm ciara
storm dennis
Perfect summary lol
Forgot ww3
How did that driver manage that?
Maybe they misjudged the depth?
@@dragonemergencyvideos Probably.
Very good pictures and recordings, just a shame is the many wild jerks zoomed in and out in the video. Work on it a little, then it will work out well, greetings from Stuttgart, Germany
Thanks, and this was when I was new to the Sony camera so filming wasn't great yeah
In everyone's dampest hour, why not build prefab homes on stilts with weighted bases, they don't call me Ms.Spock for nothing!
Love that prime mover tho
The private ambulance was already parked before the flood, and taffs well being 6 miles away from ponty🤷🏻♂️ but I suppose a catchy thumbnail is key 🤣
I drive through there when the A470 slip is closed sometimes by Radyr. The amublance is always parked there, it wouldn't have been responding or anything like that, it's a private ambulance that never seems to move much. No idea why its lights are on.
The most likely reason the ambulance is there is it was parked there before the flooding and not moved. The lights will have shorted on as a result of the flood water in the cabin shorting the controls 🤔
It was a surprise to see that Ambulance stuck in a flood.
Same here
How where the lights still working? That's so strange... good catch!
They cut out after about 10 mins. Thanks for watching
Obviously the ambulance driver must have left the keys switched on for the all the lights to still be flashing.
@@harrycday6528 Every truck I've driven, the lights can be on with the engine off (crap design, I know, because it can catch out the unwary).
😱😱
i remember this coming out and cornwall getting affected by this. Great video. May i just ask what the outro music is?
nice footage mate 👍
Cheers bud
And this is why i drive a dirty old lifted and jacked up Land rover.. wonder what the goverment is going to do when they ban diesels in a few years and all the electric POS die in a bit of water.. and yes i use my 4x4 to rescue and bring nurses to work.
If they try to ban diesels in rural areas im gonna start a protest...no way im driving down country roads and through fields in a bloody prius
This is not a real ambulance as in an NHS vehicle. It belongs to a private company. I do not think NHS paramedics would be this situation , with the greatest respect, that;s if this vehicle actually "crashed" into floods. If the vehicle has been there under normal conditions and then swamped by fast rising water that would be a different situation.
Im only going off the info i was given by locals
@@dragonemergencyvideos All good. I wasnt suggesting you had wrong info or anything. But if that area was already flooded, how do they manage to end up like that? And did you notice the lights were also flashing with the electrics under water? I don't think you or I would want to be inside it. Gtear video all the same.
4:54 - Interested shaped fire engine!
Sadly it's gonna be going next month, and it's the only WT one left. Still the new gens look boss
@@dragonemergencyvideos Ahhh okay!
TVAC by the looks of it
Why is the siren still on?
What’s the orange beacon on the ambulance for?
That defender just plowed through like ah, up to my bonnet in floodwater? No big deal
That's what it was built for with a snorkel like that 😂
@@dragonemergencyvideos hell yes bro. Those things are road legal tanks. Especially the ones the police use over here. Very common to see those big armoured meatwagons in Belfast, cool as lol
poor water management result, hope there was no person in the ambulance
Looks bad is everyone ok
Thankfully yes
@@dragonemergencyvideos that's good
@@dragonemergencyvideos did the ambulance get towd away
Yes its gone now
This is why they need hover crafts :/
How does an ambulance crash into flooding?. I think you mean the water came a lot a quicker than they could get out of.
No idea really, pherhaps they thought it wasn't ad deep as it was?
That must of been a dopey driver lol
LOL, that crazy zooming was making me sick!
Well I've seen all bad this is bad
The patient was having a s*it day
Nobody was in the back luckily
How stupid is that ambulance crew! How absolutely stupid. We had a rig do that here! Than they got out and waded through the water up to their nipples whilst holding their equipment over their heads. Just plain stupid.
Looks like an total nightmare
Yup sadly so
That was a bad idea for the ambulance driver
Actually can the British military mobilized for disaster relief?
Yes they can ans have been in some parts of the country
Zeus is angry, repent, repent or face oblivion in a deep, dark watery grave.
Or you know, it's just climate change. Not like people have been warning about this for the past 10 years or anything...
@@hanson185 I'm just making fun of people who dismiss climate change and attribute these weather patterns as acts of God. I don't hate religion. But I just wonder how Christians are so sure their religion and God is a true God when there have been and are thousands of other Gods blamed for these natural disasters over the years.
@@ErikTheRed99 Oh lol my bad. No harm done and I hope none taken.
1:17 why drive through floodwater. any other person with common sense would know they would get stranded no one should drive at all in floods exept the ems
Lots of people ignore signs and warnings, or misjudge the water depth
the weather in uk is horrible at the moment
Yep, supposed to get worse overnight 🌧🌧
A police car should have towed the ambulance out to dry land
What was it doing there? It isn’t an emergency ambulance.
How can it not be emergency? It had blues n twos. If it were PTS it wouldn't
Harry Reddor A lot of event medical providers have ambulances with blues and twos. This is not a frontline emergency ambulance.
@@CymruEmergencyResponderHow do you know it wasn't doing cover for an event or something in this area? It must have been doing some kind of ememrgency call, they don't just use the blue lights for fun lol
Harry Reddor it wouldn’t have been on an emergency call because the Welsh Ambulance Service do not currently contract out to any private providers for emergency ambulance services.
@@CymruEmergencyResponder Not true, WAST contract blue light work to ETS Medical, SJA, and Medserve Wales
Come London we don't get flood
Yes but London has plenty of problems of it's own
Yeah but you'd get stabbed and robbed in London
4:12
Do you not have a civil protection organisation controlled by the british government?
Armin Ehrbar no, the emergency services and armed forces are expected to deal with it. We should though!
Crashed into flooding, don't think they drive it in there, maybe ambulance got caught up in the flood would be, use common sense pal
You'd totally know as you were there?
