Son of Luther ? wahooooo ! Incredible : Luther stayed in France for a long time and he called his son Bernard, a french christian name. The blues will never die !!! Thanks a lot for share Steven !
Bernard is a terrific Bluesman and proves the old addage that "the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree". I liked that he dedicated a song made popular by his dad Luther. Very nice tribute............
I've met Bernard a few times.Shared a beer or two and talked about his music, his dad, Luther and how I was a big fan of his.I remember telling him how much his slide guitar playing reminded me of Johnny Winter,RIP, and he told me Johnny was the one who taught him how to play slide.Goes to show you, The Blues is one big family. I remember when Bernard was cutting his teeth, so to speak, with Koko Taylor.Even then you could see the talent. Bernard is a real down to earth person, very approachable and a huge talent. Play on, brother, play on!
I used to jam with Bernard at a place called Duffy's Rooftop in Peoria Heights, IL back in the late '80's. In fact, that's me with Son Seals at Duffy's in my avatar. SRV came in one night to jam, and there's a video of it on RUclips. Not sure of the search terms, but if you search Bernard Allison you'll probably find it. Bernard was a terrific guitarist then, and has only got better.
FYI this is Luther Allison's son!!!! Don't know Luther Allison, youtube him. So that is why he plays so well, been doing since birth!!!! John Mayer is good but he could hold Bernard's picks. Another example of certain people getting the media attention and rewards imitating the real stuff.... Oh, there were some youtube clips of Bernard Allison doing some slide work, awesome. He can do it all.
+Playing Mantis I've been a fan of Bernard since the 1990s. People rave about Gary Clark, and the ego driven Mayer, Bonamassa, never could work out why..I always rated Bernard , Bill Perry and Sean Costello. The lesser known ones are special.
juste un rappel du bon moment pour ce concert 2014 Bernard Allison c'est aussi un as dans façon de jouer, pour le plaisir il est aussi classé parmi les 100 meilleurs guitaristes,c'est pour vous
Just listened to cherry red wine by his dad the other day. crazy how i just stumbled on this and never knew he had a son who played let alone played exactly what i like to hear
Something is happening here but you don't know what This started with TBone Walker. Who is from my neck of the woods. Don Henley, Roscoe Beck, and Scott Joplin all have a connection to my home town.
I don't know how anyone could stand to sit down to that performance. I would have been standing up, moving and I guess generally pissing people off during the whole show.
I noticed that too! I've got a Squier Simon Neil Signature Strat which sounds and plays great! You should definitely consider a top level Squier, like the Classic Vibe series, which are pretty close to any MIM Fender.
YEAH BOYS YOU ARE THE BEST I LIKE HOW YOU INTRODUCED YOUR BAND IT IS CHRISTMAS AND I AM ALL BY MYSELF WITH THE CAT JACK I DO NOT HAVE FAMILY NOT THE KIDS I HAD A NICE SHEPHERD DOG ROCKY AS ROCKY MARCIANO HE DIED LAST YEAR 14 YEARS OLD I STILL HAVE A BLUES FOR HIM LISTENING TO YOU COMFORTS ME YOU ARE THE LEGENDS
Thank you for this and the links. Another generation takes his place, and kids, very young kids are pursuing the music now, and people from all over the world. The blues will never die, nor will rock and roll and the rest, because no one does it quite like American music. We've gone and went international!
Too right. I'm Irish and I love the blues and American folk just as much as traditional irish music. Sure jazz and the entire rock genre evolved from blues, but they are not superior to it. It will never die.
This festival is independent and, in 2014 when this concert was made, was already in their 14th year (in 2020 it will be their special 20th). Check the record label Analogue Production by Acoustic Sounds. store.acousticsounds.com/l/507/Analogue_Productions for recordings of many of these Blues artists. BTW, if you buy vinyl LPs and it says Quality Record Pressings (QRP), the same company owner is head of this Salina-based record pressing plant. Hope this helps. As always... Enjoy the Music :)

Mantap lah.
No one has ever made a Squier sound this good. That man is a god.
Depends on the Squier I guess, mine are JV's 83' as good as any vintage Fender American
Most of you people are musicians?
I see many positive. Musicians.
Other that is negative try it yourself.
I hope he owns that microphone! (It';s not your harmonica Dude!) That's why microphones STINK! Damn! Otherwise....tight band! #;-)

Like father, like son! I'm just a huge fan of great Luther, and now I'm Bernard's too!
This guy really makes me sit up and pay attention. No flash in the pan, he knows what he's doing. A total pleasure.
Luther Allison is dad . He better know what he's doing .
c'est quand que tu viens au festival de jazz à Vienne (France) EXTRA !!!!!!!!!!!
How in the hell have I never heard of this guy??? He is awesome! Does he get up every day and go slap the shit out of John Mayer?
+Leo Brackin Look into some tracks from his Dad, Luther.
+Leo Brackin slap him a few times lol
FYI this is Luther Allison's son!!!! Don't know Luther Allison, youtube him. So that is why he plays so well, been doing since birth!!!! John Mayer is good but he could hold Bernard's picks. Why cut down other people. Music is good or not. Comparisons are tiresome mental masterbation. .
That's a Squier, so take that ya'll Custom Shop, fake-aged, artist-model, second-mortgage guords.
Got a picture of Bernard on my studio wall. It's been there for the past 7 years since I saw him at Cambridge. Inspirational!!
Great blues. Just found out about him by chance. Really enjoying his guitar licks. The real deal. Cj
juste un rappel du bon moment pour ce concert 2014

Just listened to cherry red wine by his dad the other day. crazy how i just stumbled on this and never knew he had a son who played let alone played exactly what i like to hear
A setlist would be awesome...
I hope my SRV fans pick up on this, Iloved SRV and I got hooked on a new one 2 nite!
He's playing a Squier! Very surprised it's not a real Fender Stratocaster.
Gotta respect the SRV style but lets not forget where it came from...without mentioning the obvious I also heard Freddy and Albert.
This is the son of Luther Allison!!! As father as son! both of them are very very good.
Nothin like some Good Blues!!!
John Dawson Winter has been resurrected!!! Damn, this is one talented human being.
More please, Mr. Allison. Great stuff.
Can't believe he passed from 'Voodoo Chile' to 'Scuttle Buttin'. Great hommage to Stevie Ray and Jimi. Awesome. 30:00
Luis David Be nice if you put the time in, I ended up watching the whole thing. it was worth it though.
+Luis David Check out Eric Gales
+Christopher Hitchens 30:00
That song is Testify after Voodoo Child .
I gotta share very thing I can find of yours. Your playing made me smile. Thankyou you for what you do. You put smile on the soul
Like father like son! Great! 👍😎
A black SRV. This boy can play. He's just missing a pair of Texas Specials.
Something is happening here but you don't know what This started with TBone Walker. Who is from my neck of the woods. Don Henley, Roscoe Beck, and Scott Joplin all have a connection to my home town.
I like this
Keeping the blues tradition alive
Some great drumming on here too from 7 mins.
Rockin'
Whats up with the snapping on 3 during "Serious?" that crap drove me half nuts
First I've heard Mister Bernard Allison...nice bassy sounding guitar and a fine player to boot.
A Squier too!
I don't know how anyone could stand to sit down to that performance. I would have been standing up, moving and I guess generally pissing people off during the whole show.
he plays great , but needs to get fixed that singing, and to gain some self confidence in order to become a real frontmen
Ok amat tuh music nya.
Bernard Allison es como mi maestro sigo mucho su sonido y sus solos geniales
awesome music
Style and grace!
Blew my mind to see him playing a Squire. Makes me want to reconsider that brand.
I noticed that too! I've got a Squier Simon Neil Signature Strat which sounds and plays great! You should definitely consider a top level Squier, like the Classic Vibe series, which are pretty close to any MIM Fender.
