The way Gen Kulkarni narrated all the experience I felt as if I m actually present at all those locations, the initial patrolling, discussion wz COAS, shopping n Europe, the actual preparation for occupation, jump n glaciers, paki helicopter etc... Greatest story i heard this year! Thank you Lt. Gen. Kulkarni and Maj. Arya. The only saving grace is that this story is not known to Bollywood. I will not be able to digest Akshay Kumar or some other main stream hero as one of the three leaders of this mission.

One this gen Kulkarni has not mentioned is about adhoc company created from all ranks of Northern Command who had done some course in HAWS. I was then as an instructor in HAWS. I was made instructor for this team and gave them refreshing training. After the training some time during winter of 1983/84,they were inducted into Leh. I think gen Kulkarni may have been part of this team. This team was the first one who were inducted to Indira Col. And later when Pak sent patrol Gen Kulkarni and his team was sent to Bilafond la and other places.
I have had the great opportunity to Serve in Turtuk at 21,000 feet for 118 days . Those days changed my life and yes I can tell my Grandchildren the stories .
Our country has been blessed with such brave officers and soldiers .We thank you for the service and sacrifice that you have put for our incredible country ….Jai Hind sir !
