And a damn good drummer. Watch those 1996-97 shows here on RUclips (esp. Bournemouth, UK show) with all four playing. They sound great, and none better than Micky Dolenz banging the skins and singing his heart out.
Davy Jones peter took and Mike Nesmith all have got there wings and halos now they are waiting for micky to join them for a great concert in the heaven's above there music is forever so they are not truly gone if you keep them in your heart's ❤❤❤❤
Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.
Love you, Micky!❤️ Thank you for keeping the fun, positivity, and all good things of the Monkees going! I pray good health and all blessings be yours. To me, you are the voice and main rep of the Monkees!🥰 Much love and gratitude!🙏💖
Mickey was always my favorite. I had a crush on him until my father said he was actually old enough to be my grandfather. I was watching The Monkees reruns. 😬
The Monkees were my Beatles.................. right before the Beatles became MY Beatles ! will always love the Monkees though.......... and Mickey was my favorite ..........thx Mickey. wb
I enjoyed this flashback. I still have the Colgems 45's you made. Thanks for all you and your talented band -original and now- have done to create a huge enhancement to my life. Your debut LP was the first record I purchased with my own hard earned dollar. I still have it. Hey, Hey.....
But he's not alone; celebrating The Monkees, celebrating David, Mike and Peter. You, a fan? I'm a fan. Thankfully Monkees fans have not gone silent. His/their fans continue to appreciate the Monkees catalogue and the four that brought the band to life. Good Times collaboration is another indication of how much the band is appreciated by the new generations of musical artists.
Loved my Davy. Micky was my second love. They never got the respect they were entitled to. Growing up I now realise how they were used and abused by people who only had dollar signs in their minds. The Monkees were way too early. I have all their TV programmes on dvd. They were so amazing and talented. I hope all the arseholes realise how much they abused these guys, all for money. Long live Micky, fly the flag for the othe three ❤
I had the pleasure of seeing Mickey perform at a local casino. Fantastic time had by all with a meet 'n greet afterwards. Loved Mickey as Corky on the tv show: Circus Boy. I've always wondered if he was blonde as a boy or did Corky have dyed hair ?
A lot of people are blonde, light or white headed as children, both my parents and a sister white headed (toe headed it used to be called). Elvis is another example. It's not unusual to go from very light as a child to very dark through the years and then to grey or white later in life.
I'm sorry I'm kind of missing a beat here. I was at the final show with Mike and Mickey at the Greek Theater, and I was not aware that Mickey was out there touring alone. Does anyone have the who what where when and why of this current tour? Thank you
It's a total travesty of justice that The Monkees haven't been inducted into the R&R HOF. Should have happened over 20 years ago! The Supremes are in, deservedly so, yet they didn't write their own material nor play any instruments. Many other examples, too. Makes you wonder if Jann Wenner might have made a casting call for the TV show but didn't even make it past the first audition.
But the Monkees DID write songs and play instruments! Headquarters went #1 in 1967, and they were 100% all over 1996’s Justus, to name a few. And they toured as a 4-piece!
The R&R HOF is really not a legit HOF. Besides the Monkeys, there are many other extremely talented artists that have made outstanding and historic contributions to music that have not been recognized and should be. It’s just wrong and shows that the organization is incompetent and inaccurate.
The Monkeys were my childhood. Mickey is still great. It is an honor to hear him. He still has it. What a spirit.Hope he keeps singing and enjoy life.
wow! micky you did steppin stone like the old days! bravo!

Sounds a little like "Pleasant Valley Sunday".

I think your best bet would be to go to Mickydolenz.com
They would have the info.

@@emmc9898 No argument from me. I grew up listening to early R&R, Beatles, Motown and The Monkees.
The R&R HOF is really not a legit HOF. Besides the Monkeys, there are many other extremely talented artists that have made outstanding and historic contributions to music that have not been recognized and should be. It’s just wrong and shows that the organization is incompetent and inaccurate.
Is that Mario or Luigi on guitar?
God bless u
