Ummm. ‘Just heat run it by connecting it to another motor’… Like we just have random motors laying around. Coincidentally, I am installing a new Lamb Ametek 116472 to replace the old one that blew up… do you suggest I used the old blown up motor for the 1/2 hr heat run or…
Not a professional here, but... The specs for my vac motor say it runs at 1500 watts. That's similar to what a typical hair dryer runs at with the heat on (mine says 1200 Watts). When my replacement brushes arrive, my plat will be to wire the repaired motor in series with a hair dryer running at full heat (being careful to make sure the hair dryer isn't running near anything that might overheat or combust). Probably not perfect, but perhaps better than skipping this step entirely.
Is there anywhere I can obtain the brass terminal that connects the lead wire to the brush?
Thanks! When it comes to brushes for the 115923 motors. I've run across 83392-11, -17, -61, etc. Are all orange brushes the same or?
