How fun to grow up with animals! I grew up in Houston, Tx and at times we had 1 dog...now I am 67 and have a number of animals here...love it! Glad when kiddos can grow up in a country setting and understand where their food comes from!
good day to you guys !! it was great to have a tour of your animals with your daughter and her friend !! awesome to see what you have on the homestead !!
Yes Kevin I enjoyed the video very much, as I do all of them. Very kind of your daughter to give her friend a tour of your farm animal's....very cute/sweet!
You guys are obviously Parks and Rec fans. Love the names. You guys have inspired my wife and I to name are first pigs Ron Swineson, Hammy I and Hammy II.
Oh geez!, now I want a homestead so I can have a baby goat. They are the cutest things. Enjoyed the tour. Love seeing the animals and how the girls react to them. Great experience for them.
Awe I just love those baby goats! they are so fun. I think we need to get some of those silver fox rabbits. I just love your home stead. Duck eggs are very good as well and they have a lot more protein then the chicken eggs. Thank you for taking us on your trip on your home stead.
I love that the baby goats get to stay together!! :D The white duck looks to be pekin. If you guys like duck eggs I recommend getting a few Welsh Harlequin ducks. My absolute favorite! They are endangered here in the US and lay really well. I have 10 females and 2 males and I love their disposition and they lay a lot of eggs! Lol
It's smaller than a Pekin and has a black beak. We raised Pekins for meat and eggs in Phoenix. We liked them a lot, but they eat more than the Runners. 😊
Living Traditions Homestead hummm. Is it solid white? Or does it have some black specs throughout the body? What color are the legs? Does she have a colored speculum? You usually see black bills and white bodies on welsh harlequins. She could possibly be a welsh Harlequin. They come in 2 types silver has a blue speculum and Gold phase has a tan/gold speculum. I had pekins for awhile and they eat so much more then the welshies I have now. :D
When we had a couple rabbits when i was growing up, my dad put burlap over the wire part of the hutch and sprayed it down every day on hot days.... we live in california where it can get up to 115 at times
We raised rabbits in the Phoenix, AZ area. They stayed much cooler on the ground in a rabbit tractor under a shade tree than in a hutch/cage off the ground. We had weeks of 118 or above. Glad to be in MO now.
I read somewhere that peppermints were THE thing to train pigs with. That you should make a bunch of noise with the wrapper then feed them the peppermint. They'll associate the noise with the treat so if they ever get out their pen they'll be easier to catch. Now I don't currently raise pigs so I don't know if this method works but I'm guessing it would. Y'alls homestead has expanded a ton since I've been a subscriber. I'm looking forward to seeing the newest addition. I'm guessing it's gonna be.......bees!
Growing up my mom made me and my brother's name are pigs so my cousin's name to theirs Park & Shop and me and my two brothers name daughters breakfast lunch and dinner lol
In one of your posts you said you would be eating goat meat but you haven't done any posts about cooking it. If you have recipes for goat I for one would be interested.
Question about your goat pen. I see you have the fencing held up with T post and is that welded wire? I was under the understanding that wooden post and woven wire was a must for goat? I have been looking into getting goats an sheep an this would be helpful
miller17013 We use t-posts with our goats all the time too. The thing to be most concerned with is the type of ground that you are sinking them into. If it’s soft or soggy, goats will stretch it out and be able To get out easily. Wooden posts are great but they still require monitoring for rot around the base for the same reason - the loosening of the fence. The absolute worst fencing for sheep and goats (and pigs too) is chain link.
I started watching your channel recently, but recently I’m appalled that the baby goats are so tame, like pets, and then you butchered them, how sad...
The baby goats are dairy goats and will not be butchered. We try to give all.of our animals the best life we can, even the ones we will eventually eat.

Growing up my mom made me and my brother's name are pigs so my cousin's name to theirs Park & Shop and me and my two brothers name daughters breakfast lunch and dinner lol
Around my area there are bobcats, coyotes, and wild dogs. Do you have that problem?
In one of your posts you said you would be eating goat meat but you haven't done any posts about cooking it. If you have recipes for goat I for one would be interested.
Do y’all use the rabbit fur/skin for anything?
I will admit I had to read the comments to get the pig reference..lol..
