Our house is under termite attack. It's a really bad one.
This is how we got rid of termite.

Veere mai abhi wood ka kaam karwa raha hu. Kaafi research ke baad deemak ka ek raambaan tareeka ye nikla hai ki ek board ata hai HDHMR, uski cabinet banwa lo. kaafi strong bhi hota hai. otherwise, HDHMR ka saara frame and door, andar ke sirf shelf plywood. Mere carpenter ne guarantee di hai deemak ki. And I can trust him because he is known to us for last 20 years.
So ask your carpenter about it and use these materials. No need of steel shelves.
Hii m an architect... u can use wpc board in making of new almirah... wpc iz wood plastic composit board... it is like normal board... jisme deemak ni lagti, paani se geela ni hota ya fir galta... nd aag bhi ni lagti... it is also used for kitchen cabinets, bathroom storage nd almirahs for all rooms etc... its one time investment... wpc bolkar nakli boards bhi aate hain... chk tht... bs fir koi khatra nahi... lifetime tak us almirah ko kuch nahi hoga 🥰🥰🥰

Hi harshdeep, a piece of advice regarding deemak/termite from one Robin to another.
1. In karnal they offer odorless anti termite treatment.
2. Warranty of 3 years is offered these days. Earlier it was 4 to 5 years.
3. If smell bothers aunty or you and aunty is not diabetic, then she can eat lots of गुड़/jaggery. Wood Polishwale consume it to counter its effect on lungs.
4. To prevent deemak in future, make sure the back of almirah touching wall is of aluminium and not wood, and also check kitchen cupboards and nearby to washrooms because thats the area which is most prone to termite attack.

The deemak oil he's put is smelling strong this time because its probably pure deemak oil and not diluted as most carpenters put. Don't use लोहा as u mentioned, it'll rot and become brittle as well. By using stone /granite you'll maintain the wood look from the front and still have a stronger termite proof cupboard, permanent solution

Bro, I've 2 important things to share...
1) Termites (deemak) come from the soil/concrete that's already infected and then they eat up all the cellulose i.e. mainly wood & paper. Get a Pest Control guy and they'll drill holes in the periphery of your house, inject some medicines and you can happily have your wooden furniture back. (I'm an expert from this field)
2) Please ask mum to wash vegetables before cutting them. Washing them after cutting, washes away all their nutrients...

Harsh put stone slabs and cover with iron door on side walls put tiles. Same is done by us long time back when we also faced same issue in are house
Try for aluminum cupboards... We used yo have those in our kitchen for cabinets, bathroom cupboards, store.. easy to maintain clean... Just need to clean with detergent and wipe up with wet clothes whenever it get dirty... Keep it open for an hour so that it can dry and you wre ready to go... We have it since 20+ years... Try for that if that is feasible for you.
It can be painted and painted pattern will look like as if it is made of wood.

Harsh veer, here in canada 🇨🇦 all wood is treated before it went to production. If u find treated wood that would work. I hope that helps

Luvd ur videos paaji best option for the termite is to add the pvc sheet layer beneath the wood/ply/mdf almost anything to get rid of this no termite and not dampness related issue . Issue resolved forever. AND THE BEST PART ITS CHEAP ALSO
Bro i suggest you to go for PCI means Pest Control of India..they are certified and professional and have network in pan India .. there chemicals are odourless and gives 5 to 10 years of warranty.. you should go for this...they use to do R&D on this and has tie-up with canadian company.

Harsh my sincere advice to you, don't put wood back again at the back of the cupboard or shelves, pls put granite shelves on the cemented portion of the cupboard at the back where the walls and sides are, keep the doors wooden but shelves and back of the cupboard cement and stone. You'll be saved of a lot of trouble in future. We have done the same in all our cupboards in previous homes we've lived in and present house as well. Kitchen as well. No deemak at all.
I had termite issue in my house in Noida also so we got iron wardrobe made. PVC is also a good option. Permanent solutions.
You can try PVC board instead wood board

I had same issue at my home. Aunty is right gatte ke box rakhne se hoti hai deemak. Aapki single almirah hai mine was double. Now i have got bakelite sheet at the back, sides and top and wood in front. Now there is no issue. Must go for this.
