When I was still a boy. We lived by Bell and auburn. Everyone around us worked at McClellan Air Force base. This was in the late 60s. Those pilots didn't think twice about exceeding Mach one. The would rattle the house. Pretty sure it was maintenance facility.. Great memories! Thanks. There was some motels on the end of Bell St that the hydroplane boaters frequented back then too. As kids we would awe at those shiny boats. When the racing was over the formally shiny boats would have holes beat in their sides.
+Mark Jones how cool... i remember both Mather and McClellan buzzing with plane s in the 70's, do you remember Aerojet testing their rocket engines... that would shake the whole town... how cool ....thanks Mark
WOW Russ. Thankyou for the tour. that one airplane out back EC121 Connie. tail number 552. I use to work on her, right there at McClellan afb 552AEWand C wing. alot of forgotten memories. got to get back out to Sacramento. been watching your other videos of town. things have changed alot in 40 yrs. keep up the good work. OH YEA WHERE's my AMERICAN made BASEBALL CAP with RVER TV on it. still waiting. LOL
Now that was cool. I saw steps going up to some of the planes. I wonder if they let you look inside some of them? That would be fun to see what they look like inside. Thank you for the virtual tour Russ. Take care.
Enjoyed the tour through the Aerospace Museum. I worked at North American Aviation which built the T-6 Texan trainer, the P-51 Mustang fighter, the B-25 Mitchell bomber, the F-86 Sabre jet fighter, the X-15 rocket plane, and the XB-70, as well as Apollo Command and Service Module, the second stage of the Saturn V rocket, the Space Shuttle orbiter and the B-1 Lancer. Through a series of mergers and sales, North American Aviation became part of North American Rockwell which became Rockwell International and is now part of Boeing. Worked there almost 40 years.
Not a pilot. Don't do very well with Flight Simulator. I worked in the Media Dept. and one of the things we did was produce presentation for Aerospace trade show. What your doing in your videos would have taken a crew of seven and going to Hollywood to edit it back in the days.
Pretty Cool Place. We have a Air Force Museum about a Hour away. Always a good way to spend the day
+RJ's adventures it is a good way to spend time and support these places for young ones to see in years to come
