They are from Honduras Nicaragua Venezuela Haiti and other countries

Only the American business tycoons are making the actual profit. Until Mexicans own their own manufacturing companies themselves, Mexicans will just be providing cheap labor for American consumers. Still no job opportunities for the Americans. China, on the other hand, have enough people who consume their own products. Note the difference.

I know hard work pays off, I'm not saying it is not possible yet if you're not connected and have the means it's very hard to succeed.

The shift from "Made in China" to "Made in Mexico" is a result of several factors. Rising labor costs in China have led some companies to seek alternatives with competitive manufacturing capabilities. Mexico's strategic location, proximity to the United States, and favorable trade agreements like the USMCA make it an attractive option. The shorter supply chains from Mexico to the U.S. reduce shipping times and costs. Additionally, Mexico offers skilled labor, particularly in industries like automotive and electronics, and has improved its infrastructure and business environment. This shift is part of a broader trend of companies diversifying their production bases to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency, but it's important to note that both China and Mexico have unique strengths that contribute to their roles in global manufacturing. Thanks, New York Times Podcasts!

They are ahead of it because they know what is coming. China knows how to capitalize on the failure of others, they also can move very quickly and maximize on efficiency. Also their internal philosophy on cooperative technology rather then a competitive technological perspective, gives them a huge advantage and it always will. The borders will come down one way or another, learn to adapt or die.

I always told my friends that US should’ve done factories in Mexico and Central America. Workers are cheaper and even if they not as cheap as China workers US is still saving more doe to cheeping cost. It’s way cheaper to move merchandise from Mex and Central America to US then it is from China to US. This will also control the high illegal migrants from coming since there will be such a high demand for workers in this countries and this countries governments will be benefiting financially from this making it possible for the US to keep using this lands for their factories, is a win-win situation for everyone. In stead they gave all manufacturers jobs to China creating a big economical monster they can’t stop, not considering that by working with Latin America would’ve been a better deal in the long run. But the US don’t like to walk by the hand of Latin American countries. They see them as a problem to solve while China sees them as opportunities. That’s the reason countries are switching to China.

They saw China as a potential foe, so they wanted to sow the seeds of friendship. They didn't have to worry about Mexico, even as they were suffering from insane corruption, cartels, and being a conduit for illegal immigration. This guy is talking about China making products for itself while citing its GDP which is a bunk statistic. If he cites China's GDP per Capita, he'd be closer to the truth, and THAT statistic is abyssmal for China. The average Chinese is STILL poor and unable to afford the various products they're being expected to buy. There's another "Peter" that they should have consulted named Zeihan, and he IS predicting the end of Globalization. Not of international trade, but the system in which products are assembled from inputs literally coming from all over the globe. The guy is correct where he describes Regionalization replacing Globalization. The US was literally always exactly that with the ease of transport within the continental scale of the country, and just expanded further with the inclusion of NAFTA, as was alluded to in the video. Various auto makers already have supply chains running through Mexico where differing components are manufactured in both Mexico and the US. China's time as THE Global manufacturer is pretty much done, and it's not coming back. They may continue to manufacture some things for as long as they're able, but China has several crisis it's facing beyond just the loss of manufacturing.

Still waiting for an explanation about how China is surpassing the US. China is actually in serious trouble facing a plethora of cataclysmic problems, each of which by themselves could crush China, never mind all at once.
      1) Demographic collapse.
Thanks to China's One Child Policy and rapid Industrialization combined with the hollowing out of its rural areas, China is the fastest aging population in the world. The average Chinese is already older than the average American. China has already admitted to over counting their population by at least over 100 hundred million people, all in the younger age groups. In the not too distant future every young worker left in China will be supporting several retired aged people each. China is no longer the cheapest labor in the world.
      2) Economy shrinking.
Companies have been leaving China in droves. People have been returning home to their rural areas because they can't find jobs, while other people have been sleeping on the streets because they can't find work to afford a place to stay. That is aside from a widespread lethargy among their young working age people having an attitude expressed as "let it rot". In addition, because of China's Zero Covid Policy, they are now suffering through the worst of the pandemic as the rest of the world is already through the worst of it. Also due to Covid, countries are pulling back manufacturing closer to home which again leaves China hanging.
      3) Energy Shortage.
China imports upwards of 75% of its oil, and is heavily reliant upon shipments from the Middle East. At a time of global energy shortages, China is at the end of a very long supply chain that could easily be disrupted by many potential groups along the way, including India which China has several border skirmishes with in the recent past. China's domestic Coal mines have been suffering from flooding, which hasn't been helpful.
      4) Food Shortages.
China has had a massive loss of pigs in the millions due to Swine Flu, which is the predominant meat in China. They've been trying to rebuild the herds, but it hasn't been going well. China has hoarded most of the Global Reserves of Corn, Rice, and Wheat more than 50% of each. At the same time China has banned the export of Fertilizers because of the domestic food shortages.
      5) Water Shortages.
China has had chronic water shortages, despite massive infrastructure projects in attempts to address the problem. It is made worse with the severe environmental damage making much of China's water so toxic it can't even be used to water crops, never mind drinking. The shortage of usable water makes the next problem truly ironic.
      6) Severe Flooding Potential.
Rivers in China are in bad shape prone to severe flooding. The Huang He River has flooded multiple times with one of the worst in recorded history killing over 3 million people in 1931. Over the centuries China has built up the banks along the river to try to prevent flooding, and sediment carried down the river has slowly raised the river bed so that it's now above the surrounding plain. If the river spills over its banks, it will flood the plain with nowhere else to go, likely killing millions again.
      7) Real estate bubble.
China has a real estate housing scam going that makes up 30% of China's entire economy. It has already begun cracking with Evergrande's default on its debt. China had been having massive protests over people losing their life savings, because Real Estate has been the only thing people in China have been allowed to invest in hoping for a profit. This is the source of China's infamous ghost cities, where companies were using investments to build new buildings as well as customers home payments. As a result, the properties aren't being finished, and never will.
I could keep going, but I'll stop here. In comparison the US is doing great. The US may be having a relatively bad day, but the fundamentals of US strength are still very sound.

Nearly half the population still lives in poverty at around 40%, but only half of that has been extreme poverty in recent years.
The middle class has also grown to around nearly 40% of the population. The rest upper class and rich. There are many medium sized and small Mexican cities where the middle class has been more visible. Obviously the big cities like Mexico City host world billionaires like Carlos Slim and the CEOs of companies along with Mexican celebrities, but have also hosted the largest slums.
Most of those were created from the 1950s-1990 when the country urbanized (moving from the countryside to cities) and had a high birth rate. The birth rate today though has been at replacement level of around 2.1 births/couple.

In fact there has been a negative influx of Mexican citizens to the US, a good number of Mexican migrants have been returning to Mexico. I think there is a great degree of prejudices and stereotypes in this report. Typical New York Times report of someone who has never left the border zone to visit the country and know it in depth. How you know an US citizen? Western companies have been leaving China since 2008 when Deng Xioaping raised taxes drastically for foreign companies. Plus Chinese worker salaries have risen way past other third world countries like Mexico. With the disruptions in the supply chains during covid, another surge of leaving China occurred.
The impetus for Belt and Road by Xi Xinping in 2013 was mainly because western companies were leaving China in droves. China needed alternative markets to keep their manufacturing going. While it will take a few years for western companies to finalize retooling their supply chains, it is happening. It is a big reason for de-dollarization, as the large percentage of their manufacturing is now going to the Global South rather than to the west, there is no need to for China to trade exclusively in dollars with no one in the west actually involved in the trade.

    • @kalarmsojib7225
      @kalarmsojib7225 Год назад +1

1 Deng Xiaoping died in 1997, it is impossible for him to come out to raise the tax of foreign companies 11 years after his death!
2 Since 2000, foreign capital has been increasing its investment in China, from 38 billion US dollars per year to the current 150 billion US dollars per year. The fastest growth rate of foreign capital investment in China is from 2009 to 2011, and then The growth rate has slowed down as the total investment has been increasing, and post-COVID, foreign capital investment in China has increased again, reaching a record high of US$172.3 billion in 2022. Check the data of the United Nations Economic Organization and other authoritative economic organizations, the facts are completely different from what you imagined.
3 The Belt and Road Initiative does have the effect of de-dollarization, but its essential intention does not lie in the dollar. Of course, going to the US dollar is the dream of many countries. After all, the US dollar must be used for trade between sovereign countries, which is unfair to all sovereign countries. The United States can rely on printing dollars to purchase products and resources that people all over the world have worked so hard to get. Basically, the whole world is a slave of the United States, but now someone is challenging the United States to realize the dreams of the people of the world. When China proposes this initiative, the world The top three-quarters of countries immediately joined the initiative. The only countries that have not joined this initiative are the United States and its political colonies.
4 In fact, China itself is also eliminating low-end manufacturing and labor-intensive industries. To develop and improve people’s living standards, China must produce mid-to-high-end products, improve its position in the industrial chain, and create more economic value . The reduction in the scale of China's low-end manufacturing industry is a measure and plan of the government, but the mid-to-high-end manufacturing industry has increased significantly.
5 China has no objection to American companies leaving China, just like trade, it is voluntary. Although American companies have huge interests in China, the total economic volume of all American companies in China is less than 5% of China's GDP. American companies leaving China is not a bad thing for China. If Apple leaves China, it will be replaced by brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPL, VIVO, and ONE PLUS; if Android leaves China, it will be quickly replaced by Hongmeng; if Tesla leaves China, it will quickly lose the Chinese market. The classic examples are GM and Wal-Mart. Without China, these two companies would have gone bankrupt long ago. Companies like Micron and Procter & Gamble will not survive long without the Chinese market. This is why after China opened its doors in 2023, CEOs of Elon Musk, Cook, Bill Gates, Huang Jensen, Intel and Qualcomm all visited China in groups.

This low tech manufacturing was a good fit in Mexico in the 1980's. Like he said the Mexican MIT is in Monterrey; mid level manufacturing. Columbia is now the Mexico of the 1980s and is a better fit for low tech manufacturing. The US has a free trade agreement with Columbia and that's where US companies with low tech manufacturing needs will set up shop. Wages are lower. Transport is negligible.

I’ve made many videos teaching Chinese in a humorous way.
Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in. I am a self-made man. I owe my lack of success to nobody.
About 3000 Chinese characters cover 99% characters in newspapers and books. From my previous videos you can learn more than 400 common characters.
There are about 120 commonly used Chinese character radicals. From my previous videos, you can learn more than 80 basic radicals.
I’ve spent about 100,000 hours studying English humor and Western culture, and many years studying Chinese culture and jokes. My native language is Chinese.

I wonder if they will put up nets around their factory to catch employees that jump off the roof like they did in their Foxconn factory that assembled iphones in China😁

This podcast left out one crucial point on the labor market in Mexico. China will just bring their own hard-working, obedient zomies to Mexico just like they do in all the other countries they helped themselves un the name of communism sovereignty.

Putting tariffs and sanctioning Chinese products will cause China to find other locations for supplying the US market.
At the same time, China as moved into 130 other countries to become their largest trading partner. It is just diversifying to capture markets from many different vantage points, while going upstream with more sophisticated production from its basses within China.
The overall effect it that within 5 years, China will make 35% of goods in 130 countries, totally leaving the US in the dust.

I just arrived in the factory, within 30 minutes immigration officers arricved to check my document even though I already show my password at the airport.

US has an $800-billion war budget, 800 military bases . US troops, God bless their souls, will continue sitting in their bases, scratching their balls, costing their government $800 billion a year to do nothing. Meanwhile, China will continue to actually develop : Few days ago, Tesla's boss went to China again ==> The Pacific Century !
