Great doc. Thanks for sharing. I played guitar with Frank Lowe. I'm on his album "Skizoke". I also have tapes of a full unreleased album by Frank (with John Zorn on it.)
Wow. What an incredible document of that era & of these musicians. I wish this session was available to listen to in full. Funnily enough... I have the same exact wooden chimes seen in the beginning. Picked em up from Music Inn World Instruments in the West Village. It'd be cool if it turns out they've been selling the same ones for 50+ years.
Brings back alot of memories as a young boy. My father and everyone in his circle were revolutionaries and Black nationalists, and this was the music they enjoyed listening to.
what an amazing document! thank you for sharing. posted 10 hours ago and the professional free jazz haters are already mobilized with their shitposts...
There are Recordings on Survival with Frank Lowe and Rashied Ali, they were rereleased on CD by Knitting Factory Records. I highly recommend his Record as Leader with Don Cherry on Soul Note / Black Saint, a very Bluesy Free Bop Record in the freeer Style of Mid 60ties Blue Note.
@@JazzVideoGuy Joseph is trying to be funny by implying that drugs caused Frank Lowe and his group to play as they did. People make similar comments to me about my playing. They are best ignored or deleted.
You mean to tell me that you don’t think these guys are blasted out of their minds? I present exhibit A- this video. Never mind. I’m sorry. This sounds great. Such amazing entertainment! Top notch. I’m sure people will catch on eventually….
Unique genius
hell yeah i say

So this is amazing to have come up on my feed. Adventure in time..
Frank was adventurous, that's for sure.
This is beautiful - thank you for this
You are so welcome!
Im in love with miss Lee.
Pure gold, thank you brother!
My pleasure!
Some of your best work, Bret! The clowns always come out with experimental music. Don’t let them get you down. Lowe, Ali and crew are crushing it!
Certainly a memorable day in my life.
I’m confused, this beautiful document is inherently experimental music is it not?
Looking forward to see it.
It's good!
@@JazzVideoGuy I am quite sure it is. The Lofties need to be kept in our Memories.

They can write what they like, but this music will stand the test of time.
This is so cool to see, I hope the recording is found some day. Thanks for posting!
I hope so too!
This is very interesting!!...I've got "Black Beings" on CD (ESP-DISK) and it was my starting/ introduction to Willian Parker and Joseph Jarman...
