  • WE STARTED A LOGGING JOB 5 MINS FROM MY HOUSE .. THE WIND CAME UP AT THE END OF THE DAY AND I DECIDED TO CAPITALIZE AS EVERYTHING WAS LEANING BACK. I USED THE WIND AS A WEDGE TO FALL TREES UP INTO THE SETTING

AT 7:50 I RUN OUT OF GAS AND QUICKLY FLIP THE SAW OVER TO CHANGE THE GAS PICK UP IN THE TANK TO EAT UP MORE HOLDING WOOD AS TO AVOID THE BARBER CHAIR EFFECT AS THE WIND THROWS IT IN LAY, ..

There’re just three things that allow you to get away with falling in the wind, experience, experience and......EXPERIENCE! It also pays to have a little luck on hand, just in case nature decides you’re taking liberties.

I love watching someone who knows how to cut. Loggers are a different breed when it comes to putting timber down. I Come from the residential work side of things were my only do one tree all day but every piece had to be rigged out. I know Bucking can do that as well. All round tree man . Iv learned tricks with my wedge game watching you.

Damm that's some presise cutting , use the elements to your advantage for sure. Gotta have your head on a swivel and watching everything going on around you , this is some old school cutting here , reminds me years ago going in after the chain saw guys doing replanting for a summer , Black flies , heat , sounds of the saws in background , with Porter's and tree farmers hauling out the logs , dancing your way around the tree limbs , and seeing the deer come out for the tops come onto evening .
Here in Nova Scotia now it's all done by machine , no more guys in the woods just with a saw anymore , not unless it's private wood lot and select cutting us done.
Nice to see you and your son working side by side , my son is just graduating from Forestry College getting his degree in Forestry Tech , then off for the Law Enforcement part to be a Conservation Officer

All good if the wind is blowing in one direction. The wind in my area swirls and changes direction so it is dangerous to cut unless it is 5-10mph wind. It's hard to hear and see dead limbs falling with all the noise and motion in the trees too. Nice Work!

BBR is a timber felling animal. Love it man. I'm no faller by any means but I've dropped and bucked my fair share. I work for an excavating company that does alot of mine reclamation here in WV. The first stage of all our jobs is clearing trees and all vegetation. They call it grubbing. The largest site I've worked on was about 22 acres. We build roads too, I walk in front of a D-9 cat and 330 excavator and drop and buck trees ahead of them. Its awesome to have a 330 there because it's an awesome wedge lol. Put the bucket out dig the teeth in and that's the only way I'll cut bad learners and difficult cuts lol. Billy you really are amazing at what you do brother.
