You do an absolutely fantastic job at these Ball jam/jelly maker. I'm a big fan of almond undertones. Do you think I could add some almond extract to this? Obviously a small amount (suggestions please). I'd love to do this over the summer with our Traverse City (CHERRY CAPITAL-holler) cherries.
Thank you so much for another jam video. I have successfully made the strawberry jam with surejell. I'll be sure to share this video link to the Jam and Jelly Maker group. looking forward to more jam and jelly videos.
I'm excited that the Sure Gel worked in the jam pot! I'll try that. Also, I want to try doubling a recipe. I'm not sure how the maker will do with a double load, but I want to try. I believe you and I may have discussed that previously. Thanks for sharing with your jam group!!
@@lyndaplank4750 I made several batches of strawberry jam and also wild blackberry jam and used the entire box. It' sets up pretty firm so next time I plan on experimenting with 3 Tablespoons of surejell to see if it produces a little looser set.
I don't want to post something if it's not good, so I'm ALWAYS going to taste first. Unfortunately I've made a couple of recipes that did not set for whatever reason. If I can't show you a good finished product, it's all getting scrapped. Thanks for commenting!
@@janeayre5633 lately I’ve been putting it in a food processor instead of chopping it by hand. I just pulse it a few times and that will give you much smaller pieces for your jam. Honestly, I’ve done it both ways. Completely thawed out and also still a little bit frozen. I’m sure logic would say that completely thawed out would be better because you’re not going to have any moisture but I just made 36 jars of this the other day, and for 24 of them, the cherries were still mostly frozen. I put them in a colander first and rinsed them a little bit to get any ice off.
You mentioned you had a jam an jelly business could you do a video on what types you sold an how to go about sold them..I'm 67 an disabled looking for a way to make a few dollars more 😁it would be a blessing to learn more about the selling end as I've canned for years..( new sub here) BLESSINGS
Rhanks for sharing. Have you ever tried lower the quantity of sugar with this machine ? I normally use 2 parts of fruit to 1 part of sugar and without pectin. So I'm not sure this machine is for me or not. Greeting from Thailand❤
Are you talking about apple jelly or apple butter? I have not tried apple jelly in the jam maker, but that’s a very good suggestion because I love it. I make my apple butter in a crockpot and in my opinion it’s the best ever.
Hello. Can you tell me why the screw jars only last 3 weeks. When I’ve made jam on the stove in the past I’ve used the screw jars and they last a year. Why do these recipes only last 3 weeks. I don’t want to do canning
@@stacygordon-thatsmyjam I asked them at a conference I went to and they said no so who knows. I love my Jam makers and use it in my canning classes I teach. So if that don’t bring something new I will be sad!

Did you use a full box of surejell.

Hello are you chopping the fruit while it’s still frozen or have you defrosted it first? Thanks

It's been awhile since I made this video and I can't remember what I said, but a screw top in the fridge has a pretty long life span. Absolutely.
Hola soy dora
I can’t believe Ball discontinued the maker😢
I was not aware! I wonder if they are going to come out with a newer version because it’s a fantastic device. I’m glad I have one!!
