  • Here is a DIY project where I made a rotating camera rig platform from IKEA Dalfred stool. This Spinner can be used for product shoothing or 3D scanning. Basic incredients are IKEA Dalfred stool, two 15mm aluminum pipes, one metal table leg, some Smallrig camera parts.
    I designed also a 3D printed parts for this and you can download those from this Thingiverse link: www.thingivers...

    Thank you so much, wifey just asked to build something like this for her projects, will make little changes and hope for good results!

    This is so cool. I searched for someone who has mode something similar, a few months back. And was surprised to not see a lot of options for me to learn from. So happy that you made this proof of concept.

    nice build.
    The metal bracket works well, though obviously the friction became a lot higher once you put weight on it. If you ever decided to use a bearing for something like this you would want a thrust bearing, or a lazy susan bearing. they are specifically designed to take a force being applied perpendicular to the rotation plane. Regular bearings would be far less effective as the weight would be pushing the ring into the ball bearings and causing it to pinch them between the two rings, and so be far higher friction

    well, theres always cross polarisation... And for the automation, im pretty sure you know this but, a few 3d printed gears, a stepper motor and an arduino to trigger the camera (the real challenge would be making a height/angle adjustable arm)... making a turntable to orbital configurable rig is on my list for this winter, that stool might come in handy, and somewhat hilariously i also have a couple of those metal legs lying around.

  • @nmlsaiya
    @nmlsaiya 9 дней назад

    the only thing that i found difficult here is found that "metal leg" the whole rotate sistem and the 3d print is based on that... and its like a random piece of homedepot

      For Photogrammetry 3D scanning I have used Polycam and for NeRF scannings I have tested Luma AI and 3DPresso. They can make 3D models from videos. You should check my recent videos on my channel where I handle these topics.

    What kind of screws did you use to tie the print together? Is it with a nut?

    • @OlliHuttunen78
      @OlliHuttunen78  11 месяцев назад +1

      Nut would be the best. I found suitable screws from my camera gears. Same standard screws that you can attach your camera to tripod fits also to these parts.

    • @OlliHuttunen78

      You can prin the same middle part twice and attach that at the end of the rods with anothel table leg and then insert some weights over it.

    My English is not so good. Why do you turn the camera and not the object to be filmed?

    • @OlliHuttunen78
      @OlliHuttunen78  Год назад

      It works better for 3D NeRF Scanning when camera moves around the object. Those scanning softwares calculates the changes from moving banckround and creates 3D model in that way.

    Really interested in making one myself. But for the life of me that particular table leg is not available anywhere in my country. Is it possible to use a bearing in its place.
    Also is it possible that 16mm rods will fit the holder as well or not.

    I don't understand why you didn't choose a rotating table and a fixed camera?
    It will give you many more options with the camera and you can have a fixed background.

    • @OlliHuttunen78
      @OlliHuttunen78  Год назад +2

      When you try to create 3D model with NeRF method I have found that it will generate better model from the video material when the background moves. In regular photogrammetry it does not matter and then it is easier to use turn table to rotate the object and keep the camera in place. This stool works both ways.
